This is an amazing place and any wine love simply had to come by! The location is definitely strange - right in the middle of a strip mall on Harvey road... NOT where I would expect a winery to be located. But having checked out the previous yelp reviews I knew I had to check it out - and I'm SOOO glad I did!
I came by to see if I could get something special for my parents as a "stocking stuffer" to complement their Christmas gits. The ability to try the wines before purchasing was wonderful as I could my parents have different preferences and this way I could be sure of what wine to get each of them. The customer service was exceptional, and the wines are wonderful! I'm not surprised they are getting recognized and starting to win awards. The customized labels made it an extra-special gift.
Now I just need to come back for a fun night out one evening!
Perrine Winery was just so much fun tonight. Â When entertaining my Sister-in-law Yasuko visiting from Japan on her last Friday night in Texas for this stay, we picked a three way winner for local flair. Â Local Wine, Local Food and Local Music (and dancing, and laughing and singing). Â Ya'll shoulda been there. Â
Starting around 7pm, local food God, the famous and esteemed Charles Stover provided private catering in a brand new food truck that's just about to start stomping the streets of College Station. Â What we tasted was cutting edge as the new truck is specializing and nothing but Mac & Cheese baby! Â Â Can you say Lobster & Smoked Gouda Mac or Spinach, Portabella and Ricotta Alfredo Mac? Â We tasted it and it was Mac divine. Â More on this new truck soon. Â
The wines. Â Perrine Wines are starting to win medals in Texas yet even NextGen in Sonoma California. Â Their new menu clearly shows the winners. Â We tasted Perrine Series Malbec, Triple Rogue Cuvee (Cab/Malbec/Carmenere) as well as a third red. Â The wines were very fresh and lovely, true to the base of their varietals. Â Quite reasonably priced by the glass or bottle. Â (About 4 bucks a glass or 10 a bottle so when you find one you love you can take some home as well)
The music was just what wove these three local pleasantries together as a perfect mesh of happiness; Jack Houston performed a beautifully talented and excellently executed series of classic songs vocal with acoustic guitar.  We all sang along, couples danced and when he ended with a cover of Rocketman by Elton John it was obvious that everyone there knew that we had all picked the right place.  What was amazing is that everyone there singing together sounded really good together  One of a kind night to remember.  We picked the right place.

Notes; Â (Psst guys! Â This is -perfect for dates...) Â
(It was a little ironic for us to be enjoying live '60's music a second night in a row as we had just seen The Midtown Men last night at Rudder MSC Opas 40th Season opener and Jack Houston performed many of the same songs so wonderfully). Â
Thank you to Owners/Winemakers Beth & Rick for greeting us and putting together such a fine evening. Â For those that missed out, stop by and check it out , try a taste and sign up for their E-Mail updates for upcoming events like this. Â That's how we found out about it in advance.
