Every time I am here I have a great time . Â Music flows the cocktails flow and the service is exactly what a local bar needs ....fast , friendly and with a smile and light conversation. Â Everyone working here makes sure you are comfortable . Â Hard to find service with a smile anymore but at Pine St your greeted with a smile :)
Review Source:Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a drink with my Brother-in-Law while the girls were shopping at the Outlets. At first glance it appeared empty on a Saturday afternoon and we weren't sure what we were getting into, but it turned out to be a decent place with good service and drinks and not pricey either. Pool tables, Ping Pong Table, Darts, music and a couple TVs. Talking to the guy on the next Bar stool, he explained it is mainly a locals hangout. This place apparently has some really good bands that play here on Saturday nights.
Review Source:A true local watering hole in all the good ways.
The gals running the place were hard working and sincere in executing their duties.
The beer was cold and cheap and the band was rough around the edges with a great play list. The patrons seemed mostly like regulars saying hi to their buddies as they arrived.
Lots of pool tables and a ping pong table. A good place to go and be yourself for a while and put your day's worries aside.
Worst bar I have ever been to.
#1 reason is because they added a tip to my bill and charged without my consent.
I am just happy they didn't steal my CC or my identity. I went there last Saturday night ONLY to see my friend's band play. Unfortunately I kept my tab open and left without my card (I have only done the open tab thing twice ever so I am not surprised I forgot it). When I came to retrieve it, the daytime bartender showed me my receipt which had a $5 tip written on it. I said, "what? I didn't write this, did they process this already?" And yes, they did. Luckily I was able to call the FRAUD department at my bank to dispute a sad $5. I feel violated! I have been trying to contact the business owner to complain, but have had no luck yet- so here I am!
#2 reason is because their drinks suck.
Felt more like a bar-tending school than a bar. The whisky and cokes I ordered were a waste of calories and I had to spend a lot of money to try to get a buzz, which never happened. And other than watching my friend play, I was bored. The only beer on tap was Pabst.
#3 reason is because they don't have food??
The name makes this place sound somewhat nice, but "Sports Bar and Grill"? I think not.
Their bathroom wasn't a complete disaster, which is the only nice thing I can think to say about the place. Oh- and they have some good bands playing there on occasion.
Honestly this was just not my scene; but if you like a bar that is trashy, where PBR is the only beer on tap, the bartenders are unattractive and rude, and you like to wear t-shirts with a fire illustration...or blue jeans and leather jacket combo or have or enjoy looking at teased bleached hair or dudes with super long hair/bald at the same time. If you like to play darts, pool, jukebox, or hopeful for a bar fight bc of a slutty 45 yr old wearing a short skirt...then maybe this is your place, and I hope you have a good time!
This place is a LIE!
"Pine St. Bar & Grill"
1 -- First off, your address is 875 RINCON, not Pine St.
2 -- "BAR", you have only one beer on tap, Pabst. Â Seriously? Â
You're going to call yourself a bar with only Pabst on tap? Â Really?
3 -- "Grill", WOW. Â Tried to go there for lunch, with no avail. Â
As it turns out, their 'grill' is a home-style BBQ grill they keep in
the smokers's area. Â
"Pine Street" Â -- LIE
"Bar" -- LIE
"AND" -- LIE
"GRILL" -- LIE
This place is a horrific joke.
We heard about Pine Street from our new friend at the Livermore Harvest Wine Festival last weekend and since it was a few blocks from my friend's house we decided to walk over and check it out. We were very excited for all the mullets that were rumored to hang here, sadly there was only one mullet in the joint. Although he did buy the bar two rounds of drinks :)
Our plan was one drink and then back home. Well 5 drinks or so later and it was closing time! Where did the hours go? Let me tell you...
It was Sunday night so it was karaoke night, which in itself is not a draw for me as I will never sing in public, but add that to the interesting mix of friendly locals, a good bartender with a great attitude and a good time was had by all!
The cool thing was that everyone was so nice; it was obviously full of regulars who all knew each other, but by the end of the night we were interacting and socializing with just about every person in the bar.
We had a great time, we'll definitely check it out again.
Came here to see a friend of a friend's band play a couple of months ago - Â our group's first thought was "What's with the stripper pole?"...
The dance floor was tiny and NO one ever danced the whole night we were there. Â The seating area was exactly what one would expect of a dive bar, and the bathrooms, well both of them (men and women's) are really interesting....when you go, you'll know what we mean.
The fun part of the night was the people watching - it's like the Walmart of dive bars. Â I've never seen so many mullets in one place since the 70s...Too funny and the chicks, whoa, some looked like they were barely legal and some looked amazingly....awful in their nearly there minis...but hey gotta give them kudos they were about 60 so they had balls to go out in public like that.
Second hand smoke was horrible - if you are going to have a smoking area then keep the damned door shut - ick - had to wash my clothes and hair before going to bed...
They couldn't get the drift of soda water or tonic so I kept getting water in my drinks...Too funny.
Went here to play billiards with friends and sing Karaoke mostly late afternoons until evening. Fun times. They have ping-pong tables and dart boards as well and a very spacious back patio for socializing. They started featuring live bands and I think it was cool. Thanks to Chris, the bartender, because she really made good Jack-n-Cokes. HeHe I think she just hit on women most of the times. :P It's one big dive bar with a stage, live band and stripper pole. I think the stripper pole was the main event now. LOL jk
Review Source:I've been here only to support the local metal bands, including the significant other...
The stage is big enough for the band and gear (note to drummers: no need to downsize your kit if you don't want to)... but beware of the stripper pole!
jack and coke i ordered had more jack vs coke... not that complaining. MEH.
I otherwise wouldn't come out here if it weren't for the band...
Came here to see a friend's band play a couple of weeks ago. Â This is Livermore's equivalent of the Time Out in Concord. Â Although, Pine St. has a better sound quality. Â Nice bartenders, pool tables, ample parking. Â What's with the stripper pole? Â Great people-watching: 80's Rocker dudes and women over 40 wearing mini skirts. Â I wouldn't venture outside, unless you're a big lover of 2nd hand smoke.
Review Source:Beware a nasty little troll tends bar here quite often. I think she is the owner's daughter. She is by far the worst bartender I have ever come across.
#1.She will beg for tips.
#2.if you had too much to drink she will try to overcharge/add stuff to your tab.
#3.forget about ordering anything other than a beer or shot. She has no idea how to mix even the simplest drinks.
#4. Has an attitude problem bartenders are supposed to be friendly, she is not especially to non regulars.
It's a shame she tends bar here because they do have nice pool tables & Some decent live music.
This would be a decent dive bar if it wasn't for this bartender also to many tweakers frequent this bar.
The only redeeming factors about this place: pool tables, ping pong, darts and a decent sized outdoor area.
There's a new stripper pole in front of the stage...you know that is place is quality when there's a stripper pole.
Someone asked my friend to "hook a brother up." Why do I attract such weirdos? Why?
Nice to see some things never change even after a few years of avoiding this place.
If there was a way I could give these guys no stars, I would do it. We used to book some truly amazing shows at this place. We used to do the "Save the Boobies" show here every year. The place was packed, people drank a ton of booze, and the people had a great time. We had one bad show and they decided to stiff the bands of the pay that was agreed.
F**K this bar!
One star??? Yes
I was a fan of Pine St. Thought it was a great dive bar, close to home, great GREAT bands there.
I have since found out about an incident that occured between my friends and the bar of a "bad business" nature. Therefore I will not support the Pine St Bar anymore.
It's too bad that greed rears its ugly head to those who have brought you so much business in the past.
this is a dive bar i'm totally down with! they have a pool table AND a ping pong table! HELLZ TO THE YAZ!
i gotta give it to kris (the owner) she books some killer local bands up en heeeh! of course my favorite would be evergreen! i always leave the pine feeling as though i rocked my sweet little heart out! she and her other bartenders make great drinks and it's always service with a smile! it's also not one of those pick up bars, which i love! we gather at the pine for great music, great drinks and great times! i also recommend karaoke night.... that shit is hilarious! muahahaha
The one complaint I have with this place really isnt about the place itself, just a warning about the directions. Â The direction sites online said to turn on the wrong streets. Â Once we were finally there, we stayed til the place closed. Â We went on a Friday night with friends when Pop Murder played and they totally rocked! Â You just gotta go when they are playing! Â (Although, they went on last so we got to listen to 3 other groups who were all different, but good.)
Friendly bartenders and a good atmosphere. Â I'm looking forward to going back. Â There is no grill here, just good booze - it's all ya need! Â Plenty of things to do for entertainment with 3 pool tables, a ping pong table and darts. Â Closing time came way to fast! Â You can hang out on the dance floor, sit around the stage, or hang around the bar to listen to the live music or hang out in the room with the pool tables and still get a good view and hear everything. Â
Lots of parking as it's in a strip mall.
What can I say about this trashy little dive. Â Price of beer was reasonable. Â I guess you have to be a regular to get any kind of service though. Â This seems to be a common problem with most of Livermore's local watering holes. Â I heard they had bands, so maybe I'll check it out on a Friday / Saturday night to see if it's any better.
Review Source:oh, I'm not sure if i really want to get into this review right now. i have a love/hate relationship with the place.
i bartend there Saturday nights, so i know quite a bit about the place.
they have a huge assortment of diverse bands that play there, so the place is a totally different crowd/experience on any given night. yes, it is to loud when bands play, but i have never been to a place that has bands play and it isn't loud. i think the fact that we have a dying music scene in this area and there's still a bar in the area that has live music. i hate having to drive to Oakland or SF to see a band.
i would always call to see what bands are playing to determine what kind of crowd is down there. sometimes there's older crowds, other time younger, hell they even have a Mexican night.
also it's not there fault is a band happens to suck, lol.
before i understood paying bands i used to think paying a $8 cover at a place that charges to much for drinks is crazy, but i know understand that they pay a sound guy and the bands make a little too. so i don't bitch about that. the drinks do run on the high end but lately every place I've been to seems to be costing about the same.
one myth i want to dismantle is all this mullet talk. i have never in fact seen a mullet here (watch right as i am typing this, there is one walking in)lol. and this talk about odd characters and girls making out at the bar, the place is run by a lesbian and there is no room for homophobia here. every few months there are also a few trans-gender people who stop by and i think it's great that NO ONE gives them crap and if people did, they would get kicked out. i think that says a lot. Â
oh yeah one thing i forgot...they need to drop the grill part, there is not a grill there anymore. a catering company rents out the kitchen.
It's a dive bar for sure. But it's fun! And it's probably the place I like to go the most for shots of Jager. They have it on tap here. And there are always some dirty old men who will buy you a drink no matter if you have a mullet or not. That is if you are at least a girl.
They do have great bands that play here...(Planting Seeds come back!) but if you plan on going to see a band with a friend, plan on not talking to your friend for the entire night because it gets VERY loud.
dive bar deluxe!!! this is one of those places you get dragged to go see some friend of yours that plays in a band. i have been here a few times over the past 10 years and it's only been to see bands or look at girls! not the girls that hang out there because they have mullets. the california showgirls used to always make appearances to get the false hopes up on all the guys. fake boobs and fake tans was enough to keep me happy at this place! the bands are never really good just loud wanna be rockers who just can't seem to give up the dream.
grill? where does that part even come in? they should call it the pine street bar & deep fat fryer because the menu is nothing but fried food and pricey too.
Pine Street is a pretty typical local bar, with a couple of exceptions. Â Thursday night and Sunday night is Karaoke. Â On the weekends, they host some fairly hard core bands, and the crowd tends toward the yoounger side. Â During the week it is mostly regulars. Â The bartenders are talented, and they have a good selection of beer on hand. Â Fried food is the only meal option.
