Pistons Bar

This place used to be fun, now, not at all.  I was chillin' checking out the crowd (when I say crowd, I mean 3 people, including myself and the bartender), and I noticed a camera while on the patio.  I looked around more and counted over 14 cameras in the place total.  Is this place Fort Knox? Is there gold somewhere I don't know about.  Why in the hell do you need that many cameras?  I think someone may have a fetish about recording people, who knows what happens with that footage...... I understand security, but this was overkill.

I wasn't there long and then some old, dried up dude walks in and starts barking at the bartender, totally rude and unprofessional.  I asked who he was and was told he was the owner of the bar.  I would never work for anyone that disrespectful.

I came here to write my review and saw another one that told me everything I needed to know about this place.  STAY AWAY! There are way more fun and chill bars in Long Beach.  I went down to Broadway and am so glad I did.  Many more people, and a cool vibe, not scary like Piston's.

What a joke this place has become. It used to be a cool bear bar but now has been turned into an old folks rec room for 1960s leather queens. An old ugly snaggletooth guy who kept telling me he was the owner (not sure?) wouldn't leave me alone even after I dropped many hints to stay away. I guess he had to go after me since there were only 2 other people in the place on a Saturday afternoon.

I tried again later that night, and although snaggletooth was gone, I noticed a lot of video cameras etc. Someone told me the owner watches from home and calls the bartenders to report stuff. Lame. What happened to the cool bar I used to know???

Sorry guys, stay away from Piston's... sorry to say. :(

Solid 4 star bar.  This is Long Beach's gay leather/levi bar, and a damn good one at that.

I've been a few times over the past few years and have enjoyed the experience each time.  I have yet to go on a weekend night, which I hear is when you wanna go here.  However, on the week nights that I've been to this bar I haven't been disappointed.

I went this last Wednesday and they showed a movie on the flat screen TVs as well as on the big screen on the back porch (good for you smokers).  The drink specials were $1.50 domestic bottles and $3.00 margaritas.  They also had free popcorn and $1.00 hot dogs.  Free pool, too.

Cool place with a hot bartender named Adam (who is a Tony Romo look-a-like).  Very laid back and casual.  

Oh, and there's a urinal trough in the bathroom.  What gay bar is complete without one??!!
