Oh, awesome. I saw more Oakland Raiders Jerseys here than in a Bay Area halfway house. I met a giant woman who told me she lost her virginity to David Koresh, and the waitress flinched every time I reached for my wallet, apparently assuming I was going for a gun, a bottle of GHB, or Health Department citation. God, I love Aurora.
Review Source:I will say it has a lot of character. Â Not the best appetizers, but decent. Â The onion rings were too bready and fell apart too easily. Â There are plenty of men of all ages and skin textures hanging out. Â It's a bit sketchy to see men sitting outside smoking and checking out every customer, but it's a friendly place. I probably wouldn't go back unless it was with a group.

Best things about Pitchers: Â Free Pool on weeknights, good prices pitchers of beer, usually very friendly and attentive bar staff. And they don't allow Raiders gear, which is good. Â I've only eaten here one time and got a chicken fried steak. It was pretty good though!
What you get with Pitchers is basically the epitome of Aurora neighborhood/dive bars along Chambers Road, etc. Â A lot of different people in there, gets pretty busy on the weekend nights and is totally a dive.. kind of dingy, lots of neon signs, ugly carpet, worn down tables and furnishings, ugly light fixtures/ceiling fans. Â Its all part of the atmosphere.
Go here when: you live close and you're looking for a local spot to grab some beers, shoot some pool, or check out the crowd.
I like this place. It's got a good atmosphere, and the people who work and go there are cool. Not too sketchy.
My favorite part is that the venue is split...when you walk in, you can either go to the left to the bar and seating area, or go around the corner to the pool tables. Once when we went, there was a loud karaoke night going on on the entry side of the bar, and it was packed. We went to the other side of the bar to play pool, and it was like being in a different bar! We couldn't even hear the loud obnoxious drunks singing songs that shouldn't have been written in the first place. :)
The prices are good too...we always get a pitcher when we go and split it amongst our friends, and we end up not paying an arm and a leg to drink.
Oh, and they do have free pool! Not all the time, but something like after 11...a lot of pro players seem to come in to practice for free. They are fun to watch, seeing as how I couldn't hit a ball if I was aiming for it with a telephone pole.
My friend and I used to go here solely to watch Avalanche games on the big screen in the corner with the other hardcore fans. Â Having a pitcher of beer that you can literally swim in for $10.00 didn't hurt. Â
This was our place and it was perfect for us youngins! Â We started to have our other friends meet up with us on a Friday or Saturday, or make it down to watch a game if they could. Â We were very respectful and tipped well, always paying our bill, even though some of those waitresses were bitches all of the time and didn't deserve a dime! BUT, as with the other bars in Aurora, other "youngins" started popping up here and causing a lot of drama, fighting, bringing guns, getting the police called every night. Â Pitchers went down the toilet. Â As did the rest of Aurora. Â That's another story for antoher website, though!
I have not been here in a few years, and you couldn't pay me to go back. Â Not even with a free pitcher of that gigantic pitcher full of yummy beer! Â
As far as the guy who posted before me, there is no smoking indoors anywhere in Colorado. Â I was at this place when there WAS smoking allowed inside, and it was horrible! Â No air flow, so the cigarette smoke just stayed and built up...it was gross and bad. Â People even brought their kids in there after their adult-league games! Â Lol! Â Wow. Â Great parenting.
HA! So a buddy and I decided to go for a drink at a bar without drinking too far.. Pitchers was the only placed I'd passed that was a bar only so we gave it a shot. Dirty inside, everyone smokes and the "view" wasn't good at all. The drinks were cheap but there must be other, much better options within 5 miles... If you know of one speak up because we're not going back.
The feel was also lacking. I decided not to take off that last star to punish them for having a Karaoke night though I should have. :)
