Porter's Bar

Comfortable setting, not too crazy, but fun! Drinks are good, staff is great! Heard alot of good 90s/2000s music! Will go again!!

Skip this place if you are there for food. College students deserve to get what they are paying for, especially on their usually limited budgets, and this place isn't it. What a disappointment. Fortunately, there are a many other places in Aggieville to try out over the next few years.

The good things: The background music was entertaining.

Now, for the rest of the story:

As we arrived, we noted that that it wasn't busy, for all the traffic in town on 'move in' day at KSU.  We ordered our food and 45 minutes later, we received half of it.  Over 30 minutes later (and asking the server twice where the rest of the food was), the other half of the food arrived. Since we weren't warned of the delay, many of us sat with our food in front of us, waiting for the rest to arrive; by the time they gave up and ate their food, it was cold. Now, we didn't order any well done burgers or gourmet cuisine: burgers and simple sandwiches and salads.  The server told us that the kitchen was small and the cook was new.  We were likely the only ones ordering food, of the 4 other tables in the place.  Even with a small kitchen, if they had cooked the first round of burgers, it shouldn't have taken another 30 minutes to make the 2nd round of burgers and salads.

When the second half of the food did arrive? It was with the wrong side order, and then it was cold. After I asked for a manager, I was told that they didn't really have one (they didn't really have a cook, either, apparently), and they gave us our food at half off.  There had been no apologies or offers to make it better.

Porter's is a great bar, all around.  
There is something for everyone here ... it's Manhappiness so you have that interesting mix of military, townies, frat boys and the sorority crowd and everyone in between.  As the night goes beyond 10pm, the crowd tends to get a bit younger ... this is a college town.  
I miss drinking outside at Porter's, it's a solid college town bar and one of Manhattan's best night-life offerings.
