Seems like a fun place. No doubt a dive bar but that is fine with me. 6pm on a Tuesday and a decent, fun loving crowd. Waiting on the tater tots. That's why I came:)

Tots and three egg sandwich was Delicious! Beer selection average and restrooms surprisingly clean! Service at the bar was very slow but I was not in a hurry. I will return.

My friend and I ended up here last weekend based on a Yelp listing and a desperate need for some food. The good: reasonably priced, cozy non-trendy atmosphere, and a good jukebox. And tater tots! Oh were they amazing.
The bad: the moment we walked in, we got some serious stink-eye from what I can only assume were territorial "regulars" to the point that we considered just turning around. (we are reasonably nice looking ladies and couldn't be perceived as threatening).
The ugly: it took nearly one hour for our respective hamburger and grilled cheese sandwiches to arrive, and they were cold and under-melted at that.

I am intrigued about the summertime transformation into Tiki Bar, so I'm willing to give it another go.

My favorite dive bar. Cheap drinks and the best fried egg sandwich and tater tots for about $5. Nice tiki bar atmosphere.

I love the Post and Beam! If you are looking for a local watering hole with great food, this is it. The decor most of the year is dive bar influenced, however, during the month of October, they turn the place into the coolest Halloween-inspired place to hang out! They have custom made decorations and they go all out. It really is fun! During the summer, they decorate again in a Tiki bar theme that takes you to the tropics. The awesome Mai-Tai's they make help complete the transformation!! Besides the cool decorating, they really surprise you with excellent food. Their specialty is called the Beamer Burger and it's a huge pound of deliciousness. We've tried several other appetizers and daily specials while there and have never been disappointed. I've never had the Hippo burger (another house specialty), but I've been told it's really good. Yes, it's a dive bar, but the staff and regulars are very friendly and make you feel like you're one of the family. It's definitely worth the trip.

Just a fantastic dive bar, with cheap bear, interesting people, and very good food with a big menu. Just about everything you need in a dive bar.  this is not your hiptster type dive, this is a true dive.  On a Sat. afternoon at 4PM, a sunny spring day though a bit cold, I went in expecting to see 3 people, it was packed.  Dark and closed off to the world is this place, so once inside you will lose track of time -- and your life.

It was the elite 8 for the NCAA tourney, and nobody could give a crap about it, I had to ask to have the TV turned to that station. The juke box, for old american standards and classic country is the best I have ever seen.  And with the bartenders filling it up and leaving the choices for the crowd to pick, you get Dean Martin, Tom T. Hall, the 4 Tops, and on and on.

I was blessed to have found this place for a few hours on a lonely Sat., after leaving, I felt reconnected to the world. Thanks to all the regulars that welcomed me and entertained me that afternoon.

Love this hole in the wall dive.

The Post and Beam sponsored my volleyball team for a bunch of seasons so we would frequent here before or after all of our games.  Good bar food and great service.  The older, most friendly barmaid Donna puts an instant smile on your face.  I over time, have developed a crush on her.

The layout of this place might seem a little crowded at first, but after a while you all start to feel like family.  The ceilings are low and there are post (and beams) out in the open with tables built in between.  The bar is on the middle of the room with tables on both sides.  The bar is quiet unless there's money in the jukebox in the corner.

They decorate outragously for all holidays and seasons.  It's hilarious.  Because of the setup inside, it can seem overwhelming at first but gives you plenty to look at.  It's cute how much pride they put into it.  It's always fun to go between holidays and see what's new.

Check it out, you'll get a wink from Donna if nothing else.

I am kicking myself for not having a camera with me tonight. I was stuck at work much too late tonight. One of my bffs called me on her way home too. We hadn't gotten together to gab in a while so she decided to swing by my office and pick me up for dinner. She had downloaded a coupon for this place, the Post and Beam. We weren't sure what it was like, but I had driven by it before and thought it looked like a tiki bar. That sounds fun for a July night, right?

This had to be the strangest place I have ever stepped foot in. First of all, the entrance looked like the backdoor of a loading dock with a scary sign about trespassing or something, a peephole, and a security camera. We were both nervous to go in, but too chicken to admit we were scared of a bar. There were no windows on the outside either, so we had no idea what we were walking into. The patio did look fun, but it was raining, so we had to go indoors. I know I was thinking, "it can't be that scary. There are palm trees on the patio."

Scary isn't the right word for what we experienced. It was more...comical. It was indeed a Tiki Bar. A tiki bar named "the Post and Beam." It sort of looks like MIke and Carol Brady decorated their basement bar for a Luau. The walls were even paneled.

The place is clean, but it is definitely not the kind of spot we would normally choose to go.
