We visited in February 2013 again and stayed in the cabins.  They were lovely!  They run $150 per night but the 2-for-1 special was a good deal.   The kitchens are limited to a microwave and fridge.  The sink is seperate from the shower and toilet which is nice.  You could sleep 6 with the two queen beds in the bedroom and a pull out couch in the living room. There is a nice dining room table that seats 6.   It is a little hard to find the cabins  behind the taboggon slide but well worth the effort.

Don't stay here expecting to sleep. Nobody obeys the posted quiet hours; it's like staying in a college dorm, but with 13-year-olds. Seems like a nice place to let your kids party and run amok, but not for me. Also, the bathroom in our particular room is so small that the toilet lid hits the toilet paper roll on the way up, making usage difficult. Spring for the larger room.

Haven't had a chance to stay at the Inn yet but we were out riding the Toboggans and we decided to grab dinner at the Inn.  They had a pretty comprehensive buffet that evening and it was pretty good.  The kids meals were varied and good too.  The only downside was the service for regular meals and refills etc were terribly slow.

I was so ready not to like this place.  Boy, I was mistaken!

People were so nice.  The surroundings were beautiful.  Hiking trails were abundant.  And I'm still craving their Chicken Noodle Soup.  It's the best I've ever had!!!

The rooms were a bit rustic and could use a bit of updating but it's a State Park so it was far better than anticipated.  (Better than the room at the Yosemite Lodge in Yosemite State Park).  Some rooms have a patio, which is a nice outdoor space for gathering with friends.  Did I mention the free WiFi?  That was a surprise.

We gathered at the firepit every night with some wine and watched the stars.  It was perfect.

I'm ready for another serving of that soup!

I went to the Inn Restaurant, and it was ok. The service is awful there, though. I reviewed the restaurant in my Pokagon State Park review, so check that out.

My friend got biscuits and gravy that looked good. Too bad I was there for the representing the Illinois Association for HEALTH, Phys. Ed, Rec. and Dance. Kind of redundant, but he is not obese like the rest of America. So he can eat that.

As for 70% of America, well, let's just take it easy on those biscuits, ey?

Potawatomi Inn is in my home town.  When I get married last fall, I had my wedding at Potawatomi Inn.  The event planning staff was wonderful to work with.  They answered all my questions/concerns completely and timely.  They were all great to work with.

Most of the guests that came to the wedding were from out of state, some even from overseas.  Everyone loved the tobaggon slide before the wedding, and thought that the park was absolutely beautiful.  People that have lived in the midwest all their lives had never been to  Pokagon told me that they are sad to have missed it all these years.  My husband's family was even talking about holding family reunions there!  They will definitely be back.

I would highly recommend to have you wedding or other large event at Pokagon!

While browsing the talk section, I noticed a 'favorite day trip' thread. Pokagon State Park in Northwest Indiana has a massive toboggan slide & being that there are none in Chicago, thought it'd be worth the post. The park is very nice, & the inn was also very comfortable. It's in North East Indiana about a 2 hour drive from Chicgao. If  you go, stop @ the pickle factory in St. Joe, Indiana for a free tour.
