still not gettin it. I have gone in numerous times for lunch and sat at the empty bar. It took the chatting waitstaff/owner 4 minutes to come see what I needed, when there were only 4 other people in the whole restaurant. I don't get it. I have a schedule and have a limited amount of time for lunch and I have to wait on you guys to finish chit-chatting.
The food is always good though :-)
Here's a tip on getting a tip: on a $14 tab don't give me a $5 and some change when I Â gave you a $20, Â in the hope that I'll drop you the 5 spot. Especially when you forgot I was there for the 1st 4 minutes and you also forgot to give me silverware and a napkin.
We stopped by the Pourhouse last night after hitting up Loveland Aleworks, and were pleasantly surprised. WE had great food - my boyfriend's steak was perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. My Cuban sandwich was good - very large! Loved the pretzel bun and the macaroni and cheese on the side. Although it's an open restaurant, the noise level did not bother us, and our server, Jasmine, was great. My only complaint was a Boulevard Wheat that tasted like rattan furniture. Overall, good price, good food, good service. Will be back!
Review Source:This place is a good bet if you want bar food that will please any palate, and a fairly good selection of adult beverages at fair prices. The location is also nice - historic downtown Loveland, and our server was friendly and efficient.
We went here on the premise that they had really good nachos (my fiance and I kind of are nacho connoiseurs), and their version of nachos definitely were worth trying. Nicely crisped chips, good real cheese coverage with juicy chicken, plus jalapenos and guac, and no soggy chips, even though there was some liquid queso on the chips as well.
I also ordered the grilled mahi mahi fish tacos, which were good, but I probably should have stuck with something more bar-like, such as a burger, as the tacos were a bit plain and the coleslaw/habanero sauce was neither spicy nor exciting.
Now I've only been once (so far) but I had a great experience. Seems friendly and had great service. The fries were damn good and the pretzel burger bun was awesome. My only real complaint is that I got diet coke instead of real coke but I should be on a diet anyway so... It also seemed like a lot of people were up wandering around and talking to random tables which struck me as odd but maybe it was a lunch party divided up over several tables or something.
Review Source:We really like the Pourhouse, but it doesn't always seem to be completely consistent. Â They hands down have the best fries in town, and their Loaded Brewcity Fries are absolutely one of our favorite things on the menu. Â We are also huge fans of the fajitas, and love that they source local tortillas. Â However, when we went last night, the fiancee and I were both disappointed. Â I had the Pourhouse chicken... I was surprised at how bland it was for being a "customer favorite", and having their name on it! Â My fiancee had the BBQ Bacon burger. Â Now, we have had a LOT of Pourhouse burgers, and this was the worst we have ever had. Â The outside of the pretzel bun had been doused in butter, to where he was wiping his hands every 10 seconds. Â He had ordered his burger between medium and medium well, but what he got was most certainly a very well done burger. Â We did have great service, which in my mind can do a lot to combat mediocre food. Â All in all, we'll be back, because it's rare that we are disappointed there, but I don't think we'll be ordering either of these dishes again.
Review Source:I'd like to amend this up to 4 stars. Â Went again and I think I'll add it to my list of usual restaurants.
I also tried another burger on a pretzel bun. Â I reiterate my previous complaint - it tastes like they don't salt the burger itself at all. Â You get a delicious bite of the pretzel bun, then the toppings, and then you have this half pound burger (which was cooked perfectly) which just cries out for salt. Â Maybe it's a personal thing, but a burger needs salt. Â The fries, however, were delicious, crispy, and salted well.
I'll be back - the beer selection is great and the service is attentive and friendly.
Great bar on Fourth Street. Â I keep rooting for Loveland. Â This could be the coolest little town and a place like this is a great step forward. Â Food is very good and service is excellent. Â Love the ambiance and the bar and back bar are beautiful. Â I want to be a regular here. Â
I would like a couple more flat screens for sports. Â Two over the bar but not enough on a Sunday. Â Just don't ruin the cozy, neighborhood bar feel.
The Pourhouse revolutionized my idea of what a great hamburger is. Â Try the pretzel burger, it will change your life. No really, it's freakin fantastic. The hamburger patty is fully of juicy goodness inside a delicious melt in your mouth pretzel bun and the combination of both is full of flavor and awesomeness.
This place can get busy and can have a lengthy wait to be seated but the pretzel burger makes it worth it. Check it out :)
We tried it on a Tues. evening as a "scouting mission" for a future dinner with friends before a concert at the Rialto. Â Mixed reviews follow: Â Nice atmosphere on a slow Tues. with a jazz trio starting at 7:00 p.m. Â Friendly server as well. Â The chili was strange made with carrot "coins" and a sweet/hot taste. Â We probably wouldn't order it again. Â The wild rice side is a nice alternative to the usuals of fries, rings, cole slaw, etc. Â Draft of local Grimm Bros. was fine and my wife enjoyed a glass of wine. All in all, a pleasant evening. Try the Pourhouse when you're in downtown Loveland. Â I would assume it's more hectic on a weekend evening! Â As an afterthought, I wasn't too excited about the pretzel bun for a Cuban sandwich (or a burger).
Review Source:Had a pretzel burger here that just about changed my life! I mean come on, this is obviously the natural evolution of the hamburger. Honestly the burger was really good and the pretzel made it even better. The atmosphere was so so, kinda grimy but it seems like a good place to bring kids and relax. Good beers on tap too. Ill be back.
Review Source:We're new to Loveland and so we're just starting to find our 'regular' places. Â The Pourhouse will probably earn a spot in our regular rotation. Â Love the support for live music in a town this size. Nice relaxed vibe to the place. Â The food for us has been a little hit and miss... Great burger, fries and wings - stick with the basics and you'll be fine. Also some good happy hour prices 11-6. Â Service has always been friendly. All and all a pretty decent little place.
Review Source:Best place to hang out, have a drink & some surprisingly good food :)
This place is great for groups, but it also has a very cozy feel to it, so I'd say it would be a nice casual place to bring a date too!
Their happy hour starts at 11 am,,,, what's not to love? LOL!
They also have live music, but that's normally later in the evening & due to my work schedule (& I'm assuming my age) I was never able to stay up for that :(
The martini's are DANGEROUS & my favorites...Sadly, I don't really remember what kind they were,,,, they were that good ;)
My number 1 food pick would be the Mahi Fish Tacos. The salsa they put in them makes the dish so I always asked for extra!
They had us at "pour". With a name like "Pourhouse" we knew this place had the makings of a good bar, combined with a menu and entertainment.  Our expectations were low going into this place  after seeing others reviews, but we found it to be a great bar and possibly a Loveland favorite.
Atmosphere: Â The revolving door as you enter gives you the feel that you're not in an average Loveland bar. Â The pleasant low lighting and modern woodwork gives this large space a very cozy and intimate feel. Â There is a good amount of seating with several large horseshoe booths, a handful of high and low tables and a large bar area to sit around. The walls are adorned with musical instruments and art work of various musical legends.
Service: Â We sat at the bar, as we usually do and received great service. The bartender was friendly and greeted us the moment we sat down. There were two servers running back and forth from the bar to their assigned tables with drinks in hand the entire time we were there.
Drinks: Â They feature a well-rounded selection of specialty micro brews on tap and with $2.50 well drinks and pints during happy hour you can definitely afford to try something new. Â There is also a large selection of bottled beers available.
Food: Â The food lineup includes a few things you'd expect to find at a bar and grill: burgers, sandwiches (or samwitches as they say), pizzas and appetizers, but everything else is slightly more cosmopolitan.
Pourhouse is pretty much the ONLY classy bar in Loveland!! Great brews too!
I can't say much for their food, as I have never tried it, but if you live in Loveland and want a fun place to grab some beers at where you don't feel like you need to drive a tractor too and have a wad of chew in your grill, this is it!
They have one particular waitress that is just scrumptious to the eyes as well. Funny bar tenders, fun live music. Check it out!
Every time I go to the Pourhouse I swear I'm never coming back. The problem is that I live within walking distance & there really is only one other choice for decent affordable restaurants in downtown Loveland. So in a word . . . I'm screwed.
Look, I'm not a picky eater, nor am I overly critical & realize that even great restaurants sometimes have an off night. But every single time I've been to the Pourhouse for their food, I leave scratching my head wondering just how they've stayed in business for so long. My husband & I took some friends there for dinner last night. It was the same story. The crab cakes were burned, the sliders were overcooked & the sauce on the Parmesan garlic hot wings was inedible. I ordered a Caesar salad & after they mistakenly brought me a garden salad I finally got the Caesar and it had roasted red peppers on it. Just strange. The service was dreadful. Our waitress was sweet but we had to ask for silverware after we got our food & after one of us would ask for a drink she'd never ask if the rest of us wanted anything. Several times I had to call her back to the table after she ran off.
This time I mean it. We will NEVER eat at the Pourhouse again. I made my husband swear to it. Never. Ever.
We have eaten here several times. While we have had excellent food, we have never had excellent service. Â In fact, we have had awful service three times. Â Memorably awful. Â The music can be great and the acoustics are sweet. Â The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. Â There are many downtown places with better burgers, try the pasta dishes instead. Â Also, the television is too prominent in the dining room. Â In short, if there's entertainment, go there and enjoy. Â If you want a fine dining experience, go elsewhere.
Review Source:The Pourhouse is one of Loveland's better food and beer options, but that's like hugging the cuddliest porcupine in the litter. Â
The space itself is nice... bar area with an old-school tile floor, and various tables and booths. Â Some food options were pretty good. Â In particular, we liked that many sandwiches were served on a pretzel-style roll. Â However, the food itself was between decent (beef briskit sandwich) and tasteless (sweet potato fries). Â Nothing was truly a standout. Â
One bright spot - the beer list.... but you'd expect that from their name. Â Good selection of Colorado microbrews, and not just the usual suspects either.
There are now several places to choose from on hopping 4th Street in Loveland. The Pourhouse is now my most-chosen spot for drinks, dinner, and/or appetizers with my family or for a night out with friends. I love the atmosphere. An added bonus of live music really draws me as well. I was just there a couple of weeks ago with 2 girlfriends on a Wednesday night for drinks and we had a blast. I've also chosen The Pourhouse for date nights and had a great time, as well as several occasions where I've gone with hubby and our two 7- and 9-year-old daughters. Even had a great time with multiple families with kids!
Review Source:I want to like this place. Â They offer a pretty decent beer selection, esp for Loveland and the food is very good, but like many restaurants here service is slow. Â The menu is way too large for this town. Some nights the entertainment is more distraction than entertainment.
Tip: give plenty of time, enjoy a beer, get the sweet potato fries!
I used to be a frequent customer to the Pourhouse. Although the food is very good, the service is S....L....O....W. If you have all the time in the world, I would say go for it. Don't go there for lunch if you have an hour. You won't make it. The last 3 times I have visited the Pourhouse at lunch, lunch was over an hour and all three times my order was incorrect. I had to take my lunch home in a box today because they did it incorrectly and took another 25 minutes to recook it. All in all, if you are looking for a leisurely time with no need for speedy service, the Pourhouse may be a good option but I would not recommend going if you have any kind of timeline.
Review Source:This is a nice little burger joint....or rather a Nice Place with good burgers. In the old Cippoletti's restaurant in downlown Loveland, this restaurant features plenty of warm wood, starting with the old revolving door. Â The traditional wood bar stretches across the front section of the bar, while the restaurant beyond.
Stopping in for a bite with my sweetie, I decided on a bowl of the Rocky Mountain Game Chili, which was loaded with buffalo,, venison and beef, with beans. There was a definite cinnamon fragrance, and was not too spicy, but flavorful. My sweetie had the Smothered burger, with Swiss cheese and skads of mushrooms. It was cooked just right, and the bun was also very good. Served with sweet potato fries, this was a nice lunch for a quiet afternoon.
The waitstaff was nice, though I didn't get a chance to order a second beer, and had to ask twice for a glass of water. I would go back. The prices are reasonable, and the food good, but it's not on my list of gotta go to places.
I overheard a friend asking someone else if they had been to the PourHouse in Loveland yet. Â I responded that I'm not much of a social person and don't take visitors very often.
Come to find out it's a re-vamped restaurant, in the old Cipoletti's location, into a pub/bar/live music/burger hole type of place. Â My new hobby is to classify places as nickesnames for my mouth: "burger hole" sounded just right.
They've got some great, obscure local & area brews on tap that you can't find in most pubs, the staff was friendly and the service quick. Â The wings are amazing, the sweet potato fries are awesome, and you have to try the peanut butter almond jelly panini thing - Â you'll flip. Â Entree and a pint of brew will set you back only $10-12. Â
What kind of shocked me was that only 3 or 4 orther small groups there when we were. Â You'd think, "Wow this new pub should be hoppin..." Â It's just that the only people you'll find in Downtown Loveland on a Saturday afternoon are retired couples our antique shopping and the occasional transient just waking up from the night before - not really the demo I hope they're trying to hit.
I just hope they'll continue to grow the customer base since the Loveland word-of-mouth seems to have already stalled. Â I'd like to come back to see some live music there too.
Draft beer selection is mediocre, service is slow, and while the menu looks good, what they bring out of the kitchen is uninspiring. We had the fish tacos which were overcooked and mushy. The shroomers pizza was unbalanced with the red sauce overpowering the mushrooms and carmelized onions. We'll try it again - but first impression was not favorable.
Review Source:I may not have wanted to like this place since it replaced my go-to lunch spot, Cippoletti's. Â For any regulars of Cippoletti's, you'll be comforted to know that some of the wait staff is the same (Buffy is still there and will entertain you with her sassy-ness), and they've done some minor remodeling to make the restaurant more acoustic-friendly since open mic nights start next week.
The high points: great variety in the menu, from starters to entrees. I sampled a salad with grilled veggies and this delicious garlic-feta sauce, plus the sliders, fries, and some fantastic house mayo. Also of note - the pourhouse fries. I never thought I would like white sauce on fries (or, white sauce, ever), but if you throw on some bacon, cheddar and green onions == LOVE. Â
Curious: their specialty is beer but it seems like they only have limited brews on tap - about 5 or 6 if I remember right - with lots of bottled beer to choose from.
Low points: wait staff is a bit slow. I think they will probably get this worked out in the coming weeks so I don't want to judge them too harshly.
Definitely a place I can hang out for happy hour!
