Primrose & Tumbleweeds

My wife and I had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of wine in this nice restaurant. The ambience was warm and we had a nice relaxing evening. Our server kept a close eye on us to make sure that our glass was always freshened up.This restaurant is less than 6 blocks from our house, so I'm surprised that we haven't been in there sooner, but we are looking forward to our next visit.

During my first day in Portland we visited Hillsboro by train ( on purpose!!! we don't wanna  have any 'encounter' with the Portland PD )

Our first stop was Primrose & Tumbleweeds Boutique & Wine, a totally charming wine bar. They claim to have the most quantity of Oregon wines in the world... and since Oregon is improving on their Pinot quality, this place looked quite appealing to me =)

88% Oregon and 12% Washington grapes. Smooth and balanced (IMHO)

They also have food over there, cheese plates and desserts, but since we ate earlier we didn't have anything just crackers. The cheese plates from the next table looked delicious... maybe next time? Other thing I'd love to try are their beers, they have a wide variety. Later on I learned that they have Mango beer, that must be fantastic!

Loved the place's ambiance, very warm  yet classy. They treat every patron as a regulars, and of course they also have their regulars who go there every week or every month... that's what I could imply for the greeting that they gave to some costumers (the costumers greeting was  kinda enthusiastic!)

I recently visited Primrose & Tumbleweeds with a group of friends on a Friday evening.  I loved the low key atmosphere of this little boutique wine shop, the musical group that was performing was wonderful.  I had a cocktail and a friend ordered chips and salsa...there wasn't anything special about the chips and salsa.  But, I did order their signature Hungarian mushroom soup, and that was divine!  This place is close to home and I know I will be here again soon!
