Since joining Yelp I've been wondering if a five star restaurant could ever become a one star establishment. After our visit to Maxwell's Pub & Grill last night I learned how rapidly a restaurant can sink into the single star.
Upon arrival at Maxwell's Pub & Grill we saw about five tables that needed busing. We saw a man who looked like the owner and a woman who looked like a server at the bar. These two were having a wonderful time with a group of people clustered around the bar. Apparently they were having such a good time that they forgot about the tables.
My table and the table next to us waited over 45 minutes without contact from a single Maxwell's employee. They never even looked our way. Personally I've enjoyed being ignored so we left. If Maxwell's Pub & Grill is going to run their place this way then maybe they should pull the tables and just keep the bar.
As of this writing I have unliked Maxwell's Pub & Grill mentally and I have unliked them on Facebook. However, I will always be grateful to Maxwell's for turning me on to Chicago style food. However, I've since taught myself to make Chicago style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. I no longer need Maxwell's Pub & Grill. Evidently they don't need me either with the way they treated me. So long Maxwell's Pub & Grill. It's been good to know you.
