I can't speak for the beer, because we were never offered any.  In fact, we weren't even acknowledged.  I don't need a lot of attention, I just want a beer!  Prospectors Brewing hired a jack ass.

I visit Miraposa frequently and was excited to try this place. I stopped by with a party of 4 ladies yesterday afternoon.  The man behind the bar was taking about a business opportunity with a couple of women when we arrived. We seated ourselves and waited a good while without so much as a wave or any other acknowledgement. After about 10 minutes the women left. The bartender immediately turned to chat with his buddy who arrived after us. I can't speak for the beer as we left without a drink but the ambiance and service were terrible!   Dude...you are rude!

Good beer, friendly brewer/bartender, great prices - a flight is $9!  Also very cool growlers which are now in our refrigerator...

Stopped here for a beer during the Butterfly Festival and ended up buying a growler to take home!  Beer was great and staff was friendly.

These are great craft beers!  New ones constantly from 4-9% alcohol.   Brewmaster Justin has a true gift!  ALL his beers are wonderful but I'm especially devoted to the dark side--his stouts and porters are awesome.  He is about to come out with a Gose--German heritage style.  The place is small, very friendly and has become a favorite drinking spot for locals and tourists alike.  It's next door to Subway and across from the River Rock Deli so owner Terry is very amenable to your bringing in something to eat. They have growlers to fill in two sizes and  have kegs for parties.

While planning the details of a road trip throughout California, I stumbled across Prospectors on the Internet and knew I wanted to check it out, as I am an avid fan of the microbrewery. So in late March, when we arrived in town, I was even more pleased to discover this place was located across the street from our accommodations.

So that is how, after a full Friday in Yosemite, I eventually found myself stepping through the doors of this tiny tasting room. I also brought the fellow along with me, albeit somewhat reluctantly, as he doesn't fit the German mold of loving (or even liking) beer. But he came along anyway, to keep me company.

The first drink I opted for was a Bootjack Blonde (German American Blonde)... since we were an American and a German together in the bar, it only seemed appropriate. It was tasty, and relatively hard to dislike, because it was such a mellow and agreeable meld of flavors.

Next, I decided to try a flight of beers, as the IPAs and stout sounded interesting, but I admittedly don't like to drink a full glass of hoppy or dark beers, simply because they are too difficult for me to finish. Visitors can choose from a flight of 3 or 6, but since I'd already had the pilsner/ale combo, and since wheat beers are boring to me and barleywines are too much for me, I opted for the Long Tom IPA (India Pale Ale), Mariposa Midnight (Oaked & Smoked Stout), and the Smoldering Pine (Smoked Double IPA).

Well I wasn't prepared for the pours, because they were huge! No complaints here, but I was simply surprised at how much beer for the buck they give. The results of the beers? The stout was probably my favorite of the three. The double IPA was kind of strange, in that it wasn't really delicious, but the taste was so specific and unique that I enjoyed it on that basis. As for the regular IPA, I wasn't too impressed (but that is the case with me and IPAs anyway)... interestingly enough, however, the fellow enjoyed it the most, so he ended up drinking the majority. Our total for the flight and beer ended up being $9.

Beer aside, the place is small inside and only serves beer, although expanding to have some appetizer-y things could be interesting but is perhaps not necessary. The atmosphere inside struck me as very "watering hole" like, in that everyone knew everyone. The locals were friendly, and I had some nice conversations. The two guys working, Terry and Chris, were also friendly and inviting. Sports were on the television, a pretty solid playlist was on, and during our time there, a handful of people came in to refill their growlers, making it clear that Prospectors has a pretty solid following already.

All I can say is that if i lived in Mariposa, I would probably be a regular there too.

Another local place I totally enjoyed while in Mariposa.  I am not a beer drinker so 4 stars is as good as it gets for me.  The woman behind the counter recommended a beer for us non-beer drinkers. It was a wheat beer.  She hit it right on the mark.  I liked it.  As much as I could possibly like a beer.  Thanks for the suggestion.  Another stop I would make when returning to Yosemite this summer.

Really great, cheap beer lives here! Honestly, their IPA is the best I've ever had.  The staff is super friendly.  If your in town, stop in for a few brews, or pick up a growler to go if passing through. You can't find their beer anywhere else,  so if you're in the area, don't miss out!

Went in for a free taste after my company cleaned the owners house, not a Beer fan myself but it was very good, I also was able to order food and eat while watching the game...A great place to hang out....

Overnight trip to Mariposa was topped off with a visit to Prospectors Brewing Co.  We ordered the sampler of all six beers being offered and found that we liked them all!  We then had to make a selection, so I went with the IPA and my hubby went with the Stout.  I normally don't like the darkest beers, but the stout and porter were both good.  Very nice comfy decor and the bar was packed with friendly people.  Terry and his team are to be congratulated for this bright new spot in a little town.  Will be back the next time we head to Yosemite!

I live near Mariposa and work a few blocks away from Prospectors. Honestly, I think this place is the second-best thing Mariposa has going for it (first being Yosemite) - they have a great selection of tasty, uniquely-flavored beers at reasonable prices. The variety of beers they offer at any one time is phenomenal, and they're always cycling through new and/or seasonal brews. FAR more than you would normally expect from a small brewery in a small community like this. NOTE: Don't expect a full-on brew pub that serves meals - this is a place to fill up a growler, pull a stool up for a drink with the locals, and/or watch a game on the tube.

This place was recommended to me by several folks in town, and I was not disappointed. It's a nice little joint with tasty beers and good people. You can grab your own food and bring it in to make an evening of it, or just stop by and have a beer. My only suggestion would be some better lighting. Drinking beer in a room lit with bright fluorescent lights just felt wrong. Good thing the company more than made up for it!

Heard about this place from the locals, of which I am one, and decided to watch a football game here instead of the other bar/saloons in town.  Found the place to be newly remodeled, and tastefully done.  Enjoyed the Bootjack Blond, a pale ale, as well as the football game and friendly service. The consensus among beer aficionados in Mariposa is that this is the best beer in town.  Will definitely be back.

Pleasantly surprised to find this spot! Was told they had only been open for a couple of months, but has a solid Yelp following already.

Located off a side street in the small town of Mariposa, this is a fantastic spot to fulfill your beer cravings on a Yosemite trip. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. However, once inside there is a flat screen TV, lots of tables and chairs and BEER.

I ordered a beer sampler, six beers for six bucks. Totally worth it. The ones I tried were:

    * Prospectors Oktoberest - My favorite, only around on a seasonal basis.
    * Ragged Ass Rye - Daughter enjoyed saying the name of that one, a bit sharp for my taste.
    * Bootjack Blonde - A cross between a German pilsner and American style Ale
    * Long Tom IPA - Very different from IPAs that I've had, almost a herbal quality to it, I enjoyed it.
    * Mariposa Midnight - Stout with definite smokey undertones
    * Pistol Whipped Wheat - A bit heavier than a traditional Hefeweizen

Service was friendly and pretzel bowls were refilled often. For the non-drinkers they offer cans of Izzy drinks for a dollar.

    Totally coming back here again!

This is beer crafted by a man who cares about the flavors of his brew.  A true craftsman.  I am not  a big beer drinker but tried the sampler of the six beers on tap and they were all excellent.  My spouse (very picky) was impressed.

My favorite hang out. Every time I go in family and friends seem to have the same idea. Thank you Terry and Justin for this great addition to Mariposa.

Can't wait to visit again tomorrow! Being a beer lover as well as a home brewer, I had to check this place out. Wow, what a great find! Had a flight of beers and really enjoyed all four that were offered. The stout reminded me of Old Rasputin and the IPA is so exotic with many different flavors all dancing around on my tongue! Met the brewmaster and really enjoyed hearing about all the types of hops he uses. Will definitely make it a point to stop here again when heading to Yosemite!

Midnight Mariposa is my beer at this place. Nice little area to drop into before or after dinner (or both). They don't serve food, but a couple of tables to hang out at plus a bar. 4 solid beers (not a fan of the IPA...but I'm generally not a fan of IPA's so not surprising).  They are open until 10pm which is a big plus in this small town.  There are a lot of local dining establishments within short walking distance of this place making it very convenient for lingering with friends.  Reasonable prices too. Would definitely recommend.  Want lots and lots of alcohol variety? This is not the place. Want solid actually good beer? This is definitely the place in town to go.

I was at your Brewery last night (Aug-26-2012) and tested all 4 beers you make! LOVED it! Especially IPA! That one was a blast! Thank you, guys! Thank you, Diana, for a wonderful service! Definitely will recommend you to my friends!
