It's funny how everyone is quick to blame the nightclub for the Weeknd not showing when in actuality, its the Promoters fault for not paying his main attraction enough and telling the DJ's to let everyone know that he's in the parking lot. The nightclub just hosts the event, it's not responsible for the promoters shady business dealings, even though everyone would like to think so. Guess that's what happens when people make uneducated assumptions about something they're oblivious too.
Review Source:Oh, the Quiet Cannon....where to even begin. I previously attended City of Hope's Fight For Life event here which I thought was both very well organized and executed overall. That being said, after coming here on a separate, second occasion I see that that must've been due largely, if not all in part to the City of Hope's efforts.
I came down here on a Friday night like some of the reviewers prior to me to see The Weeknd. Yes, The Weeknd, not that ridiculous spectacle of a line I waited in outside of the club for two hours; which by the way, I'm sorry I didn't realize this was Montebello (Las Vegas), NV??
Again, I came for The Weeknd, not those swagtards who spent the whole night "hyping" the crowd for someone they knew was never going to show. Last but not least, I definitely did not spend $44 dollars per ticket plus $5 on parking to bump shoulders with one of the most unruly crowds I've ever experienced, only to witness that the Quiet Cannon's idea of the most appropriate and effective form of crowd control were TASERS.
It would be nice to think that promoter Oliver was completely at fault for this fiasco, but judging by the atmosphere, everyone from the ticket girls to the self-important security guards were in on it. I can only hope that my (and everyone else's) refund which I so expediently received a few days later (Thanks TicketWeb!) was garnished from his wages.
Do NOT go to this club!!! They're a complete scam! Paid $40 plus parking to see the Weeknd & he never came... The Weeknd even posted on twitter, "i want apologize to all the fans who were lied to by promoters tonight making it seem like a club appearance was a full out performance." And this is after they hyped it up and advertised it ALL over the place. $40+ to listen to shitty music?! So pissed, they just want your money! Don't trust them it's not worth your time, find a better club!
