I've been going here since it opened.  Business, family and friends, even my daughter's rehearsal dinner.  The one and only time I had an issue I got contacted by a manager with an offer to look him up and he'd make it right on a future visit..was genuinely concerned about us being satisfied.  Went back (I live in FL) with my wife and another couple and we had an absolutely great evening.  3 sets of ribs (A+ from what I hear), my "old standby" the meatloaf...some martinis and some of their beer.  I would give this a 4 star and was very satisfied.  What made this a 5 Star..(would give it 6 if there were such a thing) was our server, Tim Voelker.  It is RARE to have such a wonderful friendly, charming, funny, helpful and attentive server at ANY PRICED restaurant.  He did EVERYTHING to make us happy going so far as stuffing some blue cheese in some olives (take the pimiento out next time Tim) to make the ladies happy.  (RAM:  Blue cheese stuffed olives are a pretty normal thing to have).  He did such a nice job that I would be a total rat not to post this and I'm hoping that the RAM management (which has been aces so far) sees this too and gives him nuggies from us here in FL.  Will always return as it's got a great menu, consistent good food, 99.8% of the time wonderful service and is located near a lot of friends and work people.

RAM has good brews, good food, a nice atmosphere, and fine service making it a great place to meet up with friends after work.

The food at RAM is a classed up American with burgers, salads, and steaks, though there are limited veggie options what they have is well done.  The veggie burger is house made and has quite a bit of flavor, it is the go-to meal for me.  RAM also has several appetizers that are veggie-friendly or can easily be made with out meat.  My favorite of these options is the nachos since they come veggie and are fantastic to share with friends.

Since RAM is a brewery you expect the beer to be fantastic and original, however I have found the beer to good not great.  Though there is nothing wrong with good beer.  I have sampled a few and their hefeweizen and red ale are my favorite so far.  I have not tried everything yet but they have a good mix of beers with a seasonal beer or two on tap.

There is a nice balance at between the bar and the dinning area at RAM.  The bar area is large so you have no problem getting a table or sitting at the bar and the dinning area is separated enough you can escape the bar if you want or even sit in one of the back rooms if you have a group.  The service is a-okay, friendly and fast.  I have been to RAM several times and I have always had a good overall experience.

It was my first stop in here last weekend before heading to Ikea and I was very pleased. The beer that I had (some kind of Irish red) was very good and the food was pleasant. The atmosphere in the bar area was very appealing and had a good number of TVs. They also had a nice collection of merch that I might pick up a hoodie next time I'm in the area.

I am a food person..not a beer drinker. Boy, was it substandard. Hummus was the worst...nachos tasteless..burgers and steak sandwich..sorry.

I have been to RAM-Schaumburg a number of times, and every time, I come away feeling good about the experience. The service is friendly & attentive from top to bottom no matter how busy the restaurant gets. The managers aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and help the staff rather than simply roaming the restaurant uselessly asking guests if everything is alright. The beer is excellent - go on the right day & you may even get to enjoy a pint with the brew master himself. And the food has always been fantastic no matter what I'm in the mood for.
This is our go-to destination any time we have guests in town or just want a casual place to go for good brews, good food, good prices and good service. It's loud and family-friendly but still offers the vibe of a nice, bordering on upscale dining environment. Basically, even when you have to drag the kiddos along, the adults still get to enjoy a classy, grown-up experience.

Came here with friends on a Friday evening, and loved the place. I had the Buttface beer which I really liked, and we ordered three appetizers - Armadillo Eggs, Hummus and Veggies, and a third thing that I can't remember.

The Hummus was quite bad, and almost tasted like detergent, and I wouldn't recommend that.

The Armadillo eggs were good, and I had these for the first time ever, and quite liked them. Overall, it is a good place, and I'd definitely visit again to try out their other beers and get some with me in their growlers.

i have gone here a few times over the last year or so the more i go the more i love it if you keep on an eye on the specials they have you can actually stay fairly cheap considering the quality of food and beverages  glad i gave them a few more chances

Decent food and the beer is pretty tasty - if they have the imperial stout, go with it.  You wont be sorry.

Definitely do online reservations - they had a 45 min wait but I was able to go online and make reservations 15 min from the time I called.

The spinach artichoke dip was a big start, and was good.  The fish and chips were decent as well, and my wife's steak was big, but not necessarily done to her liking (although I thought it was perfect!)

Its loud here, but family friendly.  Lots of TV's too for the games.

Any place that can get my husband to admit that he ordered "Buttface" is a keeper!

Seriously, we had a great time here. We stopped mid-way on our road trip between MN and MI. The Yelp app for Android was a great way to figure out where to grab a bite.

The restaurant is a bit noisy and definitely a 'gathering place.' Our server, Kyle, could not have been more helpful. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable with all of the menu items, right down to the salad dressing! He took very good care of us and even recommended a place to stay for the night. We took his advice, checked in, and walked right back over to Ram for a nightcap.

We sat in the bar on the return visit, where Nicole took great care of us, as well. The attention we received from both of our servers was exemplary. When the manager stopped by to see how our evening was going, we were sure to praise them both. It was easy to give each of them high marks.

If this place was closer to Minneapolis, it would be easy to become regulars!

Found this place totally by mistake as the line outside Weber was insane. We went here on a weekend afternoon and there was no wait. The menu was excellent and the food was really well prepared. The beer, outstanding! Will definitely be back again soon.

This is an awesome place for friends get together. Even though I didn't particular love the food, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and certainly the drinks with friends.

We have a big group here on a Saturday night. I started with hard cider which was really nice. We tried several appetizers like Armadillo Eggs, Calamari, chicken wings. Hummus, spinach dips. My personal favorite is Calamari strips. Those are lightly breaded and fried. Tender and tasty. The only thing was only 20 strips cost $10.

Another thing I liked was their skinny drinks menu. Lemon drops was great. Mango Mojoto was even better.

Our waitress was great who was checking on us constantly to make sure no glass is empty. She has done a great job.

This brewery was obviously a popular place on a Sat. night as I saw quite a long wait around 7pm. I'd love to meet up friends here again.

My friends and I ate here by accident. We were planning on going to Sweet Tomatoes, but the line was out of the door (Do they sprinkle pixie dust on their salads? Are there Golden Tickets hidden in the foccacia?) So we thought, why not check out Ram's? This place is a massive sports bar/brewery, but not in a pretentious sports-only kind of way - it's a brewery first, restaurant second, sports bar third. The menu is pretty straight forward and the highlight is not just bar food, but also some pretty adventurous burgers and sandwiches, seafood and grilled items. The service was okay and the food was not good, but not overwhelming. I had the grilled chicken tenderloins with oven-roasted vegetables on the side and my friends had the fish tacos and a massive burger. We all enjoyed our food, which was only made better by the ambience - an entire bar watching the Blackhawks (Patrick Kane won it for us in a shootout).

I am definitely planning on returning some time. Would love to see a Bears game here.

I came here for a bite to eat and drinks before watching a movie at Streets. The portabella mushroom sandwich was delicious as was the blonde ale. My friend got the white fish tacos and she polished it off. If I could have stayed longer, I would have loved to try the other beers. Great ambiance, not too loud, great food and drinks. I'll add the addition star after trying some of the other beers.

Most recent visit was for a friend's birthday. As a party of 10, we were seated in a private room in the back, the one next to the kitchen. Our server was pretty hilarious and cracking jokes at the expense of our birthday celebrant. All in good fun though.

I like pickles, so we tried the pickle chips. It leaves a sour and tangy flavor in your mouth. Dipping that into the sauce was a little much for me, so I ate them plain.

I tried The Faberge Burger, and that was quite fantastic... mostly because of the fried egg in the burger, but the ham, bacon, onion crisps and mayo made it pretty delicious too =) That was accompanied by the buttface ale - my favorite at RAM.

With only 1 server catering to our party, they did a fantastic job. Food came out nearly at the same time for everyone. It took another wave to get all the appropriate sides out to everyone.

Ram offers decent beers, which is why I gave them 3 stars rather than 1.

Foodwise: About the only things I have eaten there are the calamari and the blackened fish tacos. both were decent but neither very memorable. I personally think the fish tacos were seasoned too lightly and should just be called fish tacos. The service varies from bad to mediocre (rude behavior and slow service).

As for the experience on Friday and Saturday nights... wow. Did I say wow? I meant yikes! The amount of people with too much hair gel, shiny shirts, or shirts with tiger/eagle prints is phenomenally bad. It does provide for a lot of comical material, however.

The beer might be good, but booze alone doesn't make this a good place. Why my friend likes Ram... I have no idea.

Yes, I must post again. I think the honeymoon is over.
Been here twice recently, both times in the bar. Why?
    1) Because it is a convenient go to spot for after hours in the north shore
    2) I have not found a better place yet
I really do not dig the chainess overall and would much rather find a good third place spot but until I do, the ram is there.
Overall my experience is that service in the bar exists, but is lackluster at best. Kind of like dating someone with no personality, it doesn't last long.
On one outing after wrapping up a class term, a group of us went out for a drink, Ram was one of the few options that time of night (10:30-ish), and even so, the ram was dead, and pretty much chased us out after a round; and the service was more tolerable than inviting.

Another outing with my honey, same deal. Felt trapped at the Ram (not for lack of trying other nearby venues, no less than two, both a bust - see other reviews) it served the purpose but lackluster service in the bar. Don't get me wrong, I am not looking for a new friend but a little bit of personality goes a long way.

I am also finding the beer despite the brew to be all the same to me. I tried the new BAP last night. Supposed to be the disorder porter aged in flask. The beer was fine. What wasn't fine? A pet peeve of mine. They served the BAP in what I call a baby glass (see my review of Tilted Kilt for reference) but charged the same price. I hate that. If you are going to give me less, charge me less.
I asked if they served it in a baby glass because it had higher alcohol content, no was the answer, but more due to the fact that their is limited supply of it because it takes so long to make. Supply and demand put into effect I guess, but they are assuming demand. I gave the beer to my wife, who happens to like baby glasses and enjoyed the beer too, so it was a win win for her.
Perhaps it is me, but the ram and I are on the rocks :-(

I frequent the RAM usually once per week, and am a RAM MVP member.

The RAM is a restaurant, microbrewery, and sportsbar.

The Atmosphere: the restaurant is more low-key, but I never sit there, opting for the bar. The Bar area is roomy, open, acoustic like many modern sportsbars and pubs. That said, despite a large screen projection TV behind the bar and flatscreens strategically placed everywhere, it's usually not too loud with blaring sports like many other places, so you can still have a conversation even if other patrons are watching "the big game".

One change over the past few months is that when they play music, it used to be mainly classic rock, which fit it's clientele, who appears to be mainly middle-aged. However, lately they've taken to playing modern pop and dance music for some strange reason. Overall, I enjoy the atmosphere and give it 3.5 stars. Going back to the classic rock ambiance would bump it another half star.

The Beer: I'll just say it; The RAM has great beer. It's one of the better microbrewery pubs out there right now. I often take home a Growler or a Howler (half growler) to enjoy. All the stock selections are descent quality representations of their style, and the seasonals are generally very tasty and worth a try. Not sure what to try? Order a Taster Curl, and get a sample of each of their stock beers. The beer gets 4.5+

The Food: The food is generally pretty hit and miss. Some selections, like the Armadillo Eggs are wonderful, but others like the buffalo wings are mediocre. Consistency is a problem: one trip the burgers will be well-cooked and delicious, others they'll be greasy and under seasoned. The Fish and Chips ranges from delicately fried to greasy. The pulled pork is overly salty and sickeningly sweet. The steaks are decent, but nothing to rave about. The burger and sandwich fare is by far the best they have to offer.

The food is also very pricey and not always a good value. Sides, even regular french fries, tend to be small portions, and the food itself isn't better than what you can get at more moderately priced places. You can eat at Outback Steakhouse for about the same, maybe less, than the price of most RAM steaks, and The RAM isn't Outback quality. Which is the biggest complaint: you pay a premium price for the food, but get run of the mill quality. This and the lack of consistency bring the food down to a 3 star rating. If they can improve the value of their dishes and be more consistent on the good side, I'd add a half a star, maybe a whole star.

Overall, I'd give them 3.5 stars, but since we can't have fractional stars in Yelp, I'll be generous because honestly, the number of good meals and good times I've had at The RAM have greatly outweighed the bad, and I really am a fan of the place. I'm just also honest about it's shortcomings. So, I'll round it up to 4 stars.

If you don't mind the slightly higher than average price and want some good beer with a burger or sandwich, you can do alot worse than the RAM. Order the Armadillo Eggs, they're really one of the standout items on the menu!

I came here with a group of co-workers for lunch last week and was pretty excited to check this place out since I pass it all the time on my way to work and always wondered what kind of food they had here. Delicious food, that's what!

Since it was a fairly large group they were able to accommodate well with a more private area to eat, not to disturb others since larger groups can get loud. We also had prompt, and efficient service.

Looking at the menu, the names of the dishes were a little odd, like Armadillo Eggs, but surprisingly creative and yummy. Also note, it's a bit pricy.

I ordered the New York Strip Steak Sandwich (or something like that). It was literally a strip steak on a bun! The bun could have been a little thicker as it got soggy pretty quick. The horseradish sauce and crispy onion strings paired nicely. I also had a side of coleslaw which was delightfully refreshing.

I would love to come back and try some other fun dishes they have to offer.

Had dinner at the Ram with an old friend. The service was supreme - honestly one of the best waitresses that I have ever had. She was thoughtful, made perfect recommendations, and ensured that I had extra sauces for the food I was taking home. I tried the beer sampler, and loved each one, which is rare for me. I hope to come back in the near future.

Pretty run of the mill cookie cutter restaurant and brewery. The inside is big, TV's were they should be but basically looks like any other brew pub restaurant you've ever been to. When you throw in the fact that the beer is average at best, the food is poor to average, and there's many other high quality restaurants within a mile of it, it's hard to recommend this place.

I love this place! Firstly, I tend to favor bars with a COMPLETE menu (including drinks) online for previewing. Secondly, they have an awesome amber beer on tap that will keep me coming in!

The food is awesome, always the right temp and tastes fresh. The burgers are def. worth a try if you have yet to try them!

I sign up for the e-club and receive some special coupons which always encourages me to make it a group night out of it.

    Service is wonderful, too!

Went for lunch with clients.  It was good but not spectacular.  Service was good.  Had a spinach salad with blackened chicken.  Chicken could have been more flavorful but was ok.  Didn't blow me away or anything.  I'm sure I would go back and have always had a decent meal there.  If I were just going to sit in the bar, drink beer and have good brewery food it would probably get a 4.

    Love this place!
The first time I went to RAM I was picking up a growler to go. The bartenders were extremely attentive, I was able to order and pay for the jug and was in and out in less then 5 minutes. Plus as I waited for him to fill it up, I had at least two more waiters who walked by at separate times asking if I was be helped. While some might think that's annoying, they were genuinely kind people who just wanted to make sure I was being taken care of. That my friends, are hard to come by. Especially on a busy weekend during a bears game
Tonight I got my chance to eat there. Food was great, atmosphere and decoration was beautiful, plus the service is what I'm giving the 5 stars to. Marissa was our waitress, and she was a doll! I have no idea how she keeps up her high energy, and friendly persona, but because of her, me and my boyfriend will be back to try out the rest of the menu!

After a couple of visits, it's not often that your review of a restaurant changes. This was a first for me at Ram. I updated my review from three to four stars due to a new appreciation.

From the first visit, I missed two major factors that make Ram awesome - the beer infused items and overall value. After the second and third visit, I made it a point to try the unique beer infused items. Out of the selection, the Amber Ale Chicken sandwich was the star. It's a big and juicy beer marinated chicken breast topped with coleslaw, fried onion rings, chipotle mayo, and BBQ sauce - an excellent combination of flavors and textures. At my most recent visit, it was hard not to get it again. It's that good and I definitely recommend it. The prices were reasonable and we received awesome service. When was the last time your server genuinely smiled and was on top of everything?

For the overall value, it's no wonder this place is packed whether it's to watch the game, a dinner hangout, or for some all American classics. Award winning beer and beer infused entrées, need I say more? Thank goodness it's Ram[sday].

Great bar.  I have the 71 - IPA and the Big Red IPA, both were excellent.  The ambiance was great, waitress was very good.  I also had the Blackjack burger.  If you like cracked black pepper you'll love this burger because there's a ton of it on this burger.  I loved it.

If you want good beer and food, and you're in the area, I totally recommend this restaurant brewery.

I've been meaning to make it to Ram for awhile now to try the White and Black Hops IPAs and grab a spicy bacon burger while I was at it.  After a couple of samples of said beers (FREE, by the way) I decided to just go with their regular old reliable IPA.  For 65 IBUs and the nice citrus aroma, you don't get much of a hops palate.  The beer was balanced, and decent, but I just wasn't blown away.

I was also a total PITA and ordered a combination of two burgers (life just can't be simple with me) and subbed a pretzel bun.  The burger was cooked perfectly and was good, but again, nothing to write home about.  The garlic fries were pretty good though...after a couple of them I almost started licking my fingers like a savage, but alas, I kept it classy(ish).

Overall:  Nice place, good vibe, decent beer, good food.

I attended another Vino Van Gogh session here last week.  We were set up in a party room towards the back of the restaurant and at first, it was super loud. The room was off the bar area and the noise just carried. Luckily, there were pocket doors that were closed once our event started that helped considerably with keeping the outside noise level down.

This was the first time I've ever been to a Ram and I definitely want to go back to try some of the food. It is always so difficult to eat/paint so I didn't order anything this time around. We also had a very attentive server (can't recall her name) that made sure everyone had drinks and/or food.

This place is a solid three stars, in my opinion. It's a good place to grab lunch, dinner, or some after-work drinks. Lots of beers to choose from and a good selection of wine & cocktails, too. I had the skinny cranberry lemonade (mixed with vodka) and it was tasty and rather strong, too. This location is great for accomodating large groups. We were all able to sit together and the service was okay. A little slow, but you'd expect that with so many of us.

The food is good, but won't blow you away. They are known for their extremely generous burgers and sandwiches. They're huge and I was barely able to eat half. I've also tried the whiskey chicken entree, which I really liked. Not so crazy about their mashed potatoes. They put pepperjack in it and it's a little too spicy for my liking, though some people may see this as a pro, not a con. I like my mashed potatoes creamy, not spicy.

We split an ice cream cupcake for dessert and I was a little disappointed in that. It thought it was going to be like a small ice cream cake. It was actually a scoop of ice cream shaked like a cupcake with some whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. It was tasty, but still a bit of a disappointment. There was no cake in it at all.

Some coworkers ordered the Armadillo Eggs and said they were amazing. Seemed to be a very popular appetizer, especially if you like jalapenos.

I went here to grab a drink with some ladies I used to work with. It's a good place for a range of ages, nicer atmosphere for sure.

I tried a watermelon long island, which was pretty good. It was obviously sweet, but for a long island it didn't really pack the punch I was hoping for. It did come in a nice little carafe which was cute.

We also grabbed an appetizer, I opted for the armadillo eggs. Armadillos!! Love armadillos. But yes, these are their version of a popper. It has chicken, jalapenos, cheese and it's obviously fried. Pretttty good if I do say so myself.

I wouldn't mind going back there to try some food food.

Gave this place a second try, and actually the food was much better than the first time around.  Alas, I'm torn between a 3 and 4 star, but I guess I'll round up.

I had a Turkey Havarti Melt and the waffle fries - the sandwich was good, but the fries were really dry (I know that sounds weird to say about fries).  My +1 got the Bacon Cheddar Burger; he said the burger itself was OK, but said he really wasn't a fan of the bacon.  I'm not sure why - I also had bacon on mine.  We didn't have alcohol, so I can't report on that.

    :)

The boyfriend and I are quite the beer connoisseurs, so of course he introduced me to this wonderful gem. We tried the beer flight, as well as some seasonals. Really great beers, I must say! The Total Disorder Porter & Hefeweizen were tied for second place, but I rate the Buttface Amber as my favorite.
As far as food, really good and they put their own little twist on popular dishes! I really liked the BBQ chicken quesadilla.
We sat at the bar, so I don't have too much to say about the service.

This place classes it up with their atmopshere.

The prices and quality of the food are really nothing to write home about so I'm kind of confused regarding their success. I am really happy with the atmosphere in the bar area, but there is nothing that I (nor people I was with) were particularly impressed with.

I can not speak to their brewery items, as I have not tried their beer so keep that in mind when accounting for my review.

3 things jumped out at me right away before even ordering... They bugged me in the sense that I just found them funny

    1) the website has the "Hours of Operation Monday - Sunday | 11am - Close". You close when you close? NO KIDDING! I'm suprised it didn't say 'open-close'. That was comical.

    2) when perusing the menu, the fish tacos said they were served with 'seasonal rice'. (I've uploaded the photo). Are you trying to tell me that rice is perishable, and that you've flown in only the freshest? its NOT dehydrated for shipping and re-hydrated in a bowl of boiling water?

    3) about 1/3 of the menu items seem to have 'buttface' in the description. giggle.

Outside of that, I'll continue with the review. I was here about 11 years ago and had the beer cheese soup, and it was legendary. I've been looking for an excuse to come back since, and it was just as great as I had remembered. I ordered that along with the Reuben, which was PRETTY good. It was GIGANTIC, the marble rye was great. The horseradish sauce was weak sauce. The thousand island, standard. kraut wasn't very flavorful either. To switch things up, they instead use Havarti cheese. The taste was lost to the sauces, it might as well have not had cheese on it at all and saved me the calories. I was slightly let down by the sandwhich, but the soup and beers made up for it! My date ordered a hurricane, omg that was STRONG! I'm not one for fruity drinks but that may be on the tip of my tongue next time I'm there and they come around for drink orders.

The service was good and I really like the atmosphere. The location is nice, its right between the mall and ikea, so it would be a good stop if I were a Schaumburg area shopaholic. It's also RIGHT off of the highway, which should make it a handy stop anytime I'm on my way home from the northern 'burbs and the traffic is all Chicago-y.

I'll be back, but I probably won't have the Reuben again.

I came to Ram's for lunch this Saturday afternoon. It was packed in the bar area, but we sat in the dining area which was just as inviting. My girl and I both ordered a buffalo chicken salad for around 11 dollars. It was delicious. Came out in a decent amount of time, presentation was great and the size was perfect.

I know the night life here is different but on a Saturday afternoon, it was mostly families. Which was something I preferred. I have heard nothing but great things about there food from my friends, and I'm glad I had a good lunch here.
