Rand Red Hots

I wanna love this place ! I wanna give them 5 stars. Looks like a fifties drive in but brand new and very clean. ( still haven't gotten answer if its rehab or new build the staff does not seem to know) I migrated from the north side of  Chicago eaten regularly at all the heavy hitters Super Dogs, Hot Doug's bla bla bla.... So have I had better? Yes I have..... That being said  I live here now in DesPlaines.... This place is a great value quick, clean,love the shady out side tables. Love the Fifties feel...THE ONE THING THE ONLY THING THAT PISSES ME THE F*** OFF.....YOU ORDER AND GO TO PAY,,,,,, CASH ONLY !!!!!!!!!!  WTF !!!!!!!!  Now my $3 hot dog and fries costs $5 because of course they have one of those cheap little ATM'S that rob you blind to take out your own money........I go to a great Gyro place in the city been there 40 years hasn't been remodeled in 40 years the old man doesn't want to deal with bank cards and hes earned that right.... But come on Rand Red Hots your brand new.....Get with the program. I frikin hate paying to get my own money and rarely carry cash.This could cause serious consequences in our new relationship

My boyfriend and I came to Rand Red Hots to satisfy our hot dog craving (Gene & Jude's is unfortunately still closed due to flooding). While the menu at Rand's offers more choices than G&J, the hot dogs and fries do not compare. The food wasn't bad but it just wasn't as good as the red hots and crispy fries at Gene & Jude's. I'm counting down the days until they reopen..

This is my favorite "dinner to go" hot spot. They offer a traditional Chicago style hotdog and home cut fries for $2.89. It's super convienent with a drive thru or you can stay and eat in their cute 60's dinner setting. A hidden treasure in Des Plaines!
