New Beginnings

The two prior reviews are worlds apart. It's not the best bar ever and don't know what to make of a reviewer that splits time between libraries and bars. So since I spend most of my time in bars listen up.
   It's a dinky little place right next to a nursery and I had to turn around and come back because I missed it going north. Bob and Trish's New Beginnings is on a neon sign directly to your left as you come into the bar. Wood floor, rough wooden paneling, and drop tile cieling house a rectangular bar with a pool table and a couple TVs and not a lot else. The TVs aren't a focal point which is fine by me because every body there was talking rather than staring slack-jawed at a television. Amazing!
   If there are any taps I didn't notice them. There's a cooler with a limited beer selection and a bunch of well liquor. The focus here seems to be the people and not a bunch of crap to take your mind off the fact that you're paying too much for everything, which you aren't here.
   On the wall opposite the door is a sectioned mirror with artificial flowers on the shelf and big cartoony flowers attached to the mirror. Interesting and kitschy, I wouldn't be caught dead with it in my house but it work's OK here.
   Beautiful, friendly, eastern European bartender Natalie, and that is distinctly enunciated "n's" and "t's", no Chicago flat mid-western stuff, is worth coming in for all by herself. I spoke at length with a Chicagoan named Tom who had employed her elsewhere and confirmed my impression that she's an asset to any establishment.
   The restrooms were clean, the place was friendly, the drinks were inexpensive, and the service was good. Good blue collar bar. Don't be lookin' for no ferns here.

Best bar ever! Awesome bartenders, awesome people, awesome prices. Definitely not a dump, but a great place to hang out after work.

This is a small bar called Bob and tishes new Beginnings. This place is a dump and has been here forever. It is on a non-descriptive building on Rand Road on a busy intersection. Most people have driven by it never giving it a second thought. Just a typical bar with a pool table and some junkie TV sets. There is hardly any beer on tap and most of the stuff they have is from a cooler. The bathrooms smell of urinal blocks and the place has a creppy look. A type of bar one would associate with the South in the sixties. Pretty crummy and not even worth to stop to use the rest room.
