The Rat is where my husband hangs out with the guys he grew up with. Â Tables are close together, there are TVs everywhere... so they sit and loudly reminisce about high school and drink a lot of Jager and beer. Â And they love it. Â Who am I to tinker with their perfection?
Drink and food prices are cheap. Â The waitresses are nice enough. Â Parking can be a hassle if the area is hopping (tons of bars in this area), but there are two lots nearby plus street parking everywhere.
Overpriced and strange priced beer. An import is $3.40 and the loose change builds up in you pocket and by the next hour you are paying beers with change inadvertently pissing the staff off and now i suffer from bad service. Â The televisions are discolored and not to mention the terrible fried food smell in the place. Â
On a side note, if you are looking to chill with a bunch of conservative senior citizens bitching about life then this is your hang.
This is a really happening sports bar. They just added a special rooftop antenna so that the blacked out Lions games will be available.
The food here is very reasonable and well done. A favorite is the Olive Burger. Specials every day at very reasonable prices.(Bloody Mary at $2.25 on Saturdays,French Dip with fries on Sundays !-Really good!) If you have to see the Lions; why not here with full bar and good food?
