  The Red Lion Pub and Restaurant in Lake Hamilton Florida is located on Highway 27 and about 8 miles from Lego Land.
  
  It is primarily a place for locals and the menu is quite a disparity. They say they they specialize in British Fare, but the menu items that fall in that category seem to be very bland...like not even any salt and pepper added.
  
  The Pub fare is a different category all together. The smoked brisket is absolutely wonderful. They offer it as a sandwich with fries and another side. They are very accommodating and will make a plat for you instead of a sandwich, if you prefer, even though it is not on the menu. The burgers are hand pattied  and the fries are hand cut and cooked perfectly.
  
  There are two sides for dining, one in an open almost cafeteria looking area, and one on the pub side. Stick to the pub side for seating and the pub menu, and you will be much happier with your experience, should you venture out into the Polk County area.

  The fish and chips is the best you will ever eat. Perfectly cooked, huge portion and fresh. Also loved the reuben and the shepherds pie for a change. Great service, the staff is friendly, loved the cozy atmosphere in the bar. And happy hour is great too!!

  This restaurant is located on US Hwy 27 right on the Dundee and Lake Hamilton line.  This is a small place that serves traditional American food with a few British dishes like Shepard's pie and bangers and mash thrown in for a bit of British flavor.  We waited a few minutes for a table because the place was packed with mainly seniors when we arrived at 7 on a Saturday night.  This was the first clue that the food was going to be nothing special.
  
  We waited about 10 minutes while they cleaned a table for us.  The server took our drink orders and then disappeared but this was fine as the menu was new to us.    The server returned with our drinks and took our order. I had The chopped beef steak (I know, but I was in the mood), side salad, broccoli, and fries. Nothing was bad, just nothing was great.  The portions were good, but the food had little or no seasoning.  Maybe not even salt and pepper.
  
  Bottom line: Decent service and prices, great portion size, and average bland food.
