Better than average bar food.
The service we had for our group of 11 was amazing. Â They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, they joked with us, jumped right in on jokes and all-in-all, they really kept egging us on to have a better time. Â I could say more, but I'm sure you're not even reading this any more (if you are, good for you).
The prices are good and I hear that their breakfast is just as good. Â Simply put, the service of this place makes me want to come back for a Sunday breakfast (until then, I'll just stick with the burger).
The 'Rooster is another spot that I have been coming to since I was a little kid. The burgers are great and the Bloody Mary's are stiff. The beer battered onion rings and buffalo wings are fantastic too. This place is two years older than I am, making it one of the oldest businesses in Long Lake. As with most townie spots, you might get really slow service when it's busy.
Review Source:Went for happy hour after work and was pleasantly surprised by the price of drinks. We were a tough group to handle (lots of people up and people coming and going from the table) but the waitress did a pretty good job. I ordered chips and salsa with queso but the queso was an unpleasant surprise. Seemed just like melted velveeta.
I don't get into Long Lake very often (thanks to the bypass) but I would stop for happy hour again sometime. Gotta love cheap beer!
Just stopped in for a cocktail and an appetizer this Tuesday and you could barely find a place to park at this joint! Â Apparently Taco Tuesday brings out the whole fam damily and the entire town!! Â Holy moley! Â People stood in line for up to 15 minutes to get their .75 tacos! Â They must've been good.
Review Source:The Rooster, or "The Chicken" as we call it is totally a local hangout. Â The servers know all the regulars by name and it kinda has a "Cheers-y" feel to it. Â You can hang out in the front by the bar and play some jams on the jukebox or go to the back and sit down for a legit meal. Â The prices are cheap for the Mpls area and the food is fine. Â It's nothing super spectacular, but it's great for a neighborhood hangout where people actually give a damn about you. Â Yes, I'll be back there the next time I'm in the area, and I'll be ordering a salad... and drinks... Â cuz you can do that in a neighborhood joint and it's cool.
