The Refuge Restaurant

Really like the new remodel.  They have a patio area located outside the bar with a beautiful fountain, nice patio seating and umbrellas.  I've been there for lunch on several occasions and the food and service has been great.  They also have really good lunch specials.  A little on the expensive side, but overall the food is delicious, atmosphere is outstanding and service has been good.  We'll definitely be back to check out the dinner menu.

This was a strange experience--but a good one! We pulled in the parking lot at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and thought the restaurant was closed as there were only 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot. The sign said "Open" so we went in. The bartender called to us that someone would be right there, so we waited a minute at the hostess station. We were taken into the dining room...and it was EMPTY! We were seated, and our server came over and introduced himself. Anthony was fantastic--attentive without being intrusive. We ordered wine, reviewed the menu, and placed our dinner order. Our salads came out within a few minutes, and these salads weren't your usual bagged greens, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrot salads. They were beautifully presented and delicious. Our entrees arrived shortly after we finished our salads, and they were delicious as well. We decided to share a dessert, creme brulee, and we were not disappointed. Overall, from start to finish our "private" dining experience was incredible. As we were leaving, we were extremely surprised that we had only been there 1 hour 15 minutes. It was relaxing, we didn't feel hurried, and we can't wait to return! I don't know why no one else was there Saturday night--they truly missed out!

Having moved here from LA I was concerned about finding a place to have a nice meal. The food, atmosphere and wait staff were all incredible! It's nice to have a local restaurant that has the feel of something you'd expect in a bigger city, but the price and friendliness of a small town!! Great place!
