Stopped at Rib City (or Rib Cit-ay as we like to call it) after a day of shopping and no desire to go back to our beach house and cook.  The reviews on Yelp seemed favorable so we gave it a try.

I am such a fan of Rib Cit-ay!

The babybacks were small, but tender and the BBQ was  delicious.  I had a baked potato with mine.

Kids under 4 get a FREE chicken leg and fries.  That alone would have this place on my regular rotation if I lived in town.  I love the fact that they appreciate that she isn't going to each that much so why charge me.  Thank you, Rib Cit-ay!

As if that weren't enough, let me tell you about the wine.  We had two generous glasses for...drumroll...$7.50.  $7.50!!!  That's how much one glass of wine costs in Atlanta.

    Service was great.

    I definitely recommend.

On vacay in Ft Myers and had a hunkering for BBQ. Got takeout from Rib Ciyy. I had yhe choose 3 combo. While the ribs were well done and the star of the show, the sliced pork was a pleasant surprise. The chicken was not bad at all but also wasn't memorable. The sides of baked potato and Cole slaw served their purpose, with the slaw on the overly sweet snd soggy side. All in all it was a good meal for a great value. And mow  seafood...

I went with two other people. We went on a lark, of sorts, because people have been raving about this place and we had a $5 coupon.

We waited 5 minutes, as promised. Our waitress, Jessica, came to start us with drinks (Cokes), and we asked some questions about the menu and what we could order since we had a specified discount coupon. Apparently, you're not allowed to look at the fine print and ask your server what it actually means. She was not too pleased that we wanted to sway from the main 2 Baby Back Ribs entree (coupon). As the printout stated, one could choose either the main 1/2 rack, Pick Two Combo, Pick Three Combo, Tony's Combo, or the Shrimp and Ribs combo (fine print). As I said, we asked what that meant, and she did not want to ask some one else for a clarification, nor did she want to work with us. We also asked how big the meals really were, and if the two people I went with, could share 1 plate. The response: Sure, for a dollar extra! Yes, when the bill came, there was a dollar tacked on for a plate charge.

At any rate, my party did the Pick Two: half rack and quarter  lb smoked turkey. I ordered the Pick two: quarter lb Smoked Turkey and the quarter Bar B Q Chicken. They each ordered a baked potato, as I ordered cole slaw and fries as a side.

The ribs were "fall off the bone" and the potato was moist. The turkey had no taste to it. It was barely smoked and bland. At least they give you table side sauces, because that made it palatable. Same with the chicken. The fries were overly salted but crispy.  The cole slaw was so wet, that it seriously dripped all over the restaurant as our waitress brought our meals. She came within a couple inches of soaking me with the mayonnaise.

The rib person said they'd go back in a heart beat. If I go back, I would try the ribs, but definitely stay away from the chicken and turkey.

Wow, this place was excellent! I minus'd a star due to poor quality dessert, but the apps and meals were awesome!
Hubby and I started off with the fried okra and buffal shrimp apps. Fried okra tasted just like anywhere else, hot and fresh and good. Their secret is in the sauce though....the okra comes with a big ole tub of HOMEMADE ranch and the shrimp with homemade bleu cheese, and both are DELISH!!! Now for the shrimp - they were fried in a very very light batter and the hot buffalo sauce came on the side. I was a bit skeptical, especially since the sauce was very very thin, almost transluscent, and was definitely not a butter base. So I dipped a shrimp first in the buffalo sauce, then ranch, and took a bite. I proceeded to eat everyone aside from the few the hubby grabbed while I was sipping my sweet iced tea ;) It was flippin' good, and when we go back to Sanibel in August we will definitely be coming here again!
Then we split the combo plate with a side of half a chicken and it was pleanty for us. The smoked pork was better than at most BBQ places and the ribs were delicious if a little on the small side.
**If you have kids under 4 you'll be happy to know that they get a smoked chicken leg and applesauce for free! Our little one tore it up!
Dessert - pass. We got a key lime pie, and sadly it had perfect texture and was huge but we seriously thought that they **forgot** the key lime juice! Our server was brand new and we explained the lack of lime and she came back saying that their key lime pie is a sweet version not a tart one. WTH?! Then call it something else! Key lime pie is supposed to taste like lime. I guess the owner's haven't glanced at the recipe on the bottle of key lime juice!
We subbed it out for the coconut cream pie which was worse. The creme tasted like a mixtured of mousse and 3 sticks of butter. With tons of whipped cream. With no coconut flavor aside from the flakes sprinkled on top. We took it to go, cause God only knows if there would be pecans in their pecan pie!!!!!!!!

Great ribs.  Very very tender, very juicy.  Portions were a little small but then we were sharing two 1.5 racks for 5 people.  :)

Service was very quick, the ribs showed up a minute or two after we ordered them.

    Highly recommended place.

This was my first venture to a Rib City location. This location is fairly close to the Marriott Sanibel Harbour (where I was staying) and there is also a Super Target right next to it.
Wednesday Nights is 25 cent beer night (3 beers max. with each entree). I had a full slab, The ribs were good, the slab was small, but very reasonably priced at $14.99.
Service was very friendly and good.
When in Ft. Myers, I'd recommend it!
