Here tonight wth my wife my wife to see Judy Tenuta. We have been huge Judy fans  for at least twenty years. After all that time she has not skipped a beat in her approch to comedy. The club itself was very conducive to the audience atmosphere. Definitely in our sites for future comedy acts.

I don't frequent comedy clubs often but I went to Riddles Comedy Club about a month ago and it was a terrible experience, by far the worse comedy club I've been to.  I purchased the tickets from Groupon and regret that first and foremost but secondly, I regret actually going.  So there were several factors to Riddles sucking.  One was the fact that it was so far but of course, I can only be so mad about that.  The fact that every comedian was terribly unfunny is the reason Riddles gets one start, If I could, I wouldn't give them any stars.  A few other reasons I'll never go back to Riddles is the people there were outright rude, they looked like very homely (homeless), and again the comedians were HORRIBLE.  A night filled with bad comedians is one thing, but to have to drive so far for bad service, tacky looking employees, weak drinks, and outdated facilities is simply unacceptable; all the to say, they should be closed down.

The rest of my night, before and after, were great. =)

This is the best comedy club in town! Always a good show, Started off slow with the new location, But has been getting packed. Dinner Show Packages available with 2 great restaurants, Papa Joe's in Oak Lawn & Krapils Steak House in Worth, Jimmy "JJ" Walker, Rain Pryor ( Richards daughter), Marc "Skippy" Price, Dane Cooks opening act, Al Del Bene, just to name a few of the great acts that been to Riddles

This was my first time at Riddles and unfortunately, probably my last.
I had gotten a LivingSocial deal. The deal stated that for $20 it included 2 tickets, 2 drinks and 4 tickets to come back. Normally there is a 2 drink minimum for every show but my deal stated "2 drink minimum waived for first show." The website states to arrive 45 mins to 1 hour early as seating is "first come, first serve;' however, the show started at 8 and they made everyone wait at the bar (any drinks purchased there do not count towards the 2 drink minimum) until 7:50 and everyone rushed the doors so there is absolutely zero reason to show up early. After being seated they asked us for our first round of drinks and the MC and told some pretty awful jokes (some real groaners). 3 comedians followed. The 1st one was awful (at this point I'm starting to question what I decided to do with my evening). The 2nd guy was much better and main comedian Michael Palascak was so hilarious I couldn't breath at times because I was laughing so hard. This would all have been great except throughout the performance the waitresses asked multiple times if we wanted another drink and then at last call informed us of the 2 drink minimum. After telling her about what our voucher had said she persisted to say we needed to order more drinks. I asked if she was able to retrieve the voucher. She told me no and that I would have to talk with someone else. Since we are in the middle of the main act, I asked if we could finish addressing this after the show (we were seated near the front and I would think this commotion is both distracting and rude to the comedian and those around us). I was told that we had to address it now so I stood up and left in the middle of the performance. Once out in the bar area, they had difficulty locating the person I needed to speak with which was more frustrating because I was missing the show. Someone was able to dig up my voucher and I pointed out what it said about the 2 drink minimum being waived. Just then the manager came storming over and we showed him the voucher. He was angry because apparently it had been a misprint and the statement about the 2 drink minimum being waived was not supposed to be on there. He made a snide comment that he didn't think it should be very difficult for anyone to purchase 2 drinks and didn't think it should be an issue regardless. Listen buddy, if I'm using deal websites to come to your comedy club, I'm trying to save money and maybe I don't want to pay for more drinks (of course I didn't say any of this). He then stormed off and told the girl we were standing with to "do whatever." We were then told that it was fine and we could go back to the show. After that whole mess I was concerned that it would be difficult to enjoy the rest of the show. Thank goodness Michael Palascak is so funny! While our waitress came over and apologized I was upset concerning the actions of the manager. I think the situation could have been handled much better. When we went back in a woman nearby leaned over and said she was dealing with the same situation. What a mess! When we were leaving I wanted to hand them the 4 free tickets for future shows and say, "we wont be needing these," but we threw them away at home instead.

    Great time! Great night!

I've been to Riddles three times - once with my friends and twice with my boyfriend. I watch Comedy Central a lot so wasnt too sure if it would be worth it - but I swear to god I haven't laughed that hard in months :D They always have 2 opening comics from the area then their headliner. All 3 were hysterical.

Also, its waay nicer on the inside then I thought and the show room is really big and lit really cool with lil candles. Drinks are good but I like hearing the people with goofy laughter in the audience - it always makes me smile and laugh even more.

I will definitely go back. My boyfriend and I both lost our jobs recently and a funny show was exactly what we needed & really cheered us up. The whole next day we were quoting and laughing about the show. Waay better than just going to a bar or see the lame unfunny movies out lately.

You know what this place needs, to give out free tickets. The place seems ok but not for the money you spend. I went on a Saturday night and it was not even close to full.

The comics were ok. No one famous but they seemed like they could get there with a little more publicity.

The inside of the club is nothing like what I expected. There is long cafeteria style seating, so no intimate moments and chances are good you will be seated with strangers so the place looks crowded from the stage.

There is a two drink minimum and you will need at least 3 to get any type of buzz. Also, why can't you split checks? I mean come on.

    My recommendations to the owners:
    1. Score some big names or even slightly big names to headline.
    2. Give away some free tix to boost up your crowd (Check out the Funny Bone model it works.)
    3. If you are going to have a two drink minimum, make it worth the customer's wild. No more extra ice or short pours.
    4. Invest in 2-4 person seating. Your current digs seem cheap.

    That is all.

Came here a few months back. Wasn't too crowded. Service was ok.

Some of the opening acts had some funny moments. The main act wasn't that great.

I would go back to check out other acts in the future. Laid back place to get a few drinks and to watch some comedy.

I've been here a few times. There always seems to be one really funny comedian and one sort of funny comedian. I think they have a two drink minimum, which is fine, but I don't like being told to drink. Especially when I already paid like $10 for the show.

The (woman's) bathroom is WAY too small, and yet they squeeze a bathroom attendant in there. Why? Where am I? Some over-priced club in Chicago? No, I'm in a strip mall in the OP. Get real.
