I've eaten here a few times and it was always good. But this time was a different story. The service was okay, but the food was a big disappointment. I ordered the prime rib, and it was the toughest prime rib I've ever had. It was not cooked well done, so I'm not sure what the problem was. My brother order a NY strip and said it was only okay. My mom ordered the pork loin, but when it came out it wasn't a pork loin, it was pork cutlets. None of us were satisfied. I was the rating system allowed half stars because this experience was really 2.5.

oh.... and the place where they sat us was near the bathrooms and the hallway there was blasting A/C. It must have been 55 degrees and we were getting a draft. It was almost unbearable. The whole experience was just blah.

Based on the advice of a fellow Yelper, I stopped by Rio Station for some dinner before continuing down to Cape May. After parking in the gravel lot, I decided to eat at the bar versus the larger restaurant. No matter since it was the same menu, plus an additional (and more affordable) bar menu.

Apparently this place is famous for its crab cakes, so when in Rome...I mean Rio, I decided to give their broiled Crab Cake Sandwich a go. But first I started with a cup of clam chowder to get things going. Very nicely, I might add. When the sandwich arrived, I was impressed with the size of the crab cake and even more impressed with the tenderness and taste.

Yep, their reputation is justified and deserved. Nicely done.

The service we received was excellent and that is the only reason the place got 3 stars.  The food is expensive and frozen quality.  The bread placed on the table was awful; stale, possibly frozen and left out overnight. The salad was the only fresh item I tasted.  Dinner for three (2 ordered the cheapest steaks on the menu, one ordered a burger), and two appetizers came to a whopping $80!  Will not go back; the quality for the prices charged is just not there.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Spinach & Artichoke Dip here! Simply the BEST! And you can't beat the Rio's Friendly Staff!!

We enjoyed our food and had good service.  However, the bread they brought to the table was not good at all - it seemed stale.  The manager said he was looking to change bread companies and hadn't found one yet.  The bread tastes like they are freezing leftover already-baked bread and reheating it.
The crab cakes were good and HUGE.  You may want to try the early bird specials from 4:00-6:00 - the prices and portions are smaller.
It seems like they were really open to suggestions with the manager walking around talking to everyone, and our server was nice and helpful.

Ate there yesterday with 2 friends. Drinks good. Food well , my friends quesadilla was totally burnt on one side and not edible, she tried and finished one half of it. My chicken salad was good if all you want is chicken and lots of mayo. When my friend mentioned the Inedible food the waiter said sorry. No attempt at to rectify or reduce the bill. Sorry last time I go there!

Besides a burger or salad the average meal is over $20. I got a cheeseburger and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything spectacular. The service was so so. Good atmosphere though.

The famous crabcake sandwich here is actually made with jumbo lump crab (many places profess to only use JLC and no filler, but this place actually does). The bruchetta with cheese is phenomenal. Don't get the extra-crispy fries though, extra-crispy actually means burnt. The inside is decent, the bar space is small. The service is not bad, but also not fantastic. Overall, it's a reliable place to go for decent food.

We recently bought a shore house in Erma and have been meaning to stop in an check out the local restaurant.  Last Monday we were out doing some shopping for the house and decided to stop in.  Find out its Pasta Monday, which is great because my wife loves some pesto pasta.  She had a dish of angel hair with pesto sauce, came with a complimentary order of garlic bread, so we were pleased.  Great part was I got to have some of her dish when she ordered her free refill.  I had, what the server described as a house favorite, Chicken Atlantis.  It was a terrific dinner, chicken breast topped with jumbo lump crab meat and a tasty sherry cream sauce.  Our server, Sean, really nailed it on that one.  He was also very informative with our wine selection too, we split a bottle of Beringer Sauvignon Blanc.  I would come back for our appetizer alone, Mozzarella sticks (handmade and delicious).  Would def recommend to our friends.

I quite like this place.  veggie tempura as an appetizer is delicious.  I am not a big steak person, but my husband says it is delicious here.
I don't think their service is anything spectacular, but the food is great.

Came in for appetizers and drinks before seeing a movie. We were in a rush but the waiter was totally in line with our motives. The drinks were strong, the bruchetta was like LIFE CHANGING, and everything else (we only ordered appetizers) were quite adequate.

We sat in the dining room as the bar area was packed with people watching the Stanley Cup, but even with all that mess the food came in a quickish manner, and we made our movie on time. So for our purposes it definitely fit the bill.

There is exactly one item on this menu that doesn't have meat on it, including the salads (though excluding the appetizers...).  It's a pasta dish.  I didn't feel like pasta.  I asked the waitress if I could have a big green (no-meat) salad.  She said, "Umm... sure... I'll just put two side salads together for you."  Uhh, all right.  Tried to stay optimistic.  It arrived all limp-like and very unexciting.

One of these stars is solely for the mozzarella sticks.  They are handmade there and are AMAZING.  But not amazing enough to go back to that place.  I have ordered them as takeout.

This is a bar/restaurant.  Most of the food here is OK, but I  do like the Thursday night prime rib special.  They also make a juicy and flavorful grilled chicken breast on a Kaiser roll.

I'm not a huge fan of this place. The couple times I've gone here, the servers haven't been very friendly, and the food is just ok. You'd get much better food around the corner at the Rio Grande Diner, but this place has a bar...*shrug*

This is the perfect place for groups.  It's a casual, but nice sit-down restaurant.  Food is nothing spectacular, but it's decent.  Portions are big and prices very reasonable.  The house salad and clam chowder were highlights for me.  Unfortunately, the only prime rib that was available on a recent visit was 'well done'.  That being said, if I could, I'd give Rio Station 3.5 stars instead of 4.  However, they do have a small liquor store adjacent to the bar area, so that ought to bump it up another .5 star. Limited wine selection, but they carry a lot of good beers.
