This bar used to be so mysterious to me when I was growing up. Now I can finally set foot in this place and see what it's all about.
Drinks here are cheap and pretty stiff. I haven't tried their food yet, but one of the bartenders was telling me about how they had a couple from Dana Point drive ALL the way to Rio Vista Inn just to eat their tacos.
Debit/credit cards have a $10 minimum.
The karaoke on the other side of the bar is fun, but it'd be nice to see their song selection updated. I guess it works for all the patrons though because most of them are older... and older as in wiser. :D
All the bartenders are really nice ladies too. They make sure you're okay to get home. How thoughtful.
NE corner of Rio Vista & Lincoln
RVI is a Dive Bar...more specifically many moons ago the RVI used to be my Dive Bar. I can't tell you how many nights I've walked there only to stumble home (I knew I was going to get hammered so never drove if that was my plan!)
The RVI is the epitome of a Dive Bar: It's dated, there's cheap drinks by cool bartenders, there's a pool table, a Juke Box, and a second bar area for more drinks and Karaoke! Smitty was the KJ for the longest time, but unfortunately Smitty has left us to sing some Barry Manilow in the sky!
The RVI tends to be the local bar for graduates of Katella High School, but it does get a pretty diverse and fun crowd.
There's a Taqueria next door if you get the drunk munchies!
