Find it hard to believe some people give the Bierstube 5 stars.  I've been here twice, and here's my take:

    The Good:
I like the cozy atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly.  The crowd tends to be on the plus side of forty, but since so am I that's okay by me.
They have several good German beers on tap, which is of course the main reason to go here!
Some of the food is good, like the sandwiches.

    The Not So Good:
On my second visit, I had the roast pork and my wife had the wienerschnitzel.  Neither one was very good.  The roast pork was dry, and the gravy was too heavily spiced with cloves or something.  Spaetzle was "eh", and the home fries also lackluster.
Then after the food, we wanted to at least relax with a beer, when some music started, one guy with an accordion.  Ok, not too bad.  And then some woman began singing.  She had a hard time carrying a tune, which chased us out pretty quick.

I will give them a 3rd try, and will stick to the sandwiches and burgers.

My husband took myself and our 4 year old here for my 40th birthday...and WOW was I impressed!  A live singer, a live accordian player, GREAT food and the people were so nice and wonderful!!!  The service was a little slow (there was 1 server and the place was packed) however, she was amazing when she got to us!  The authentic German Apple Strudel was AMAZING!!!  I am definitly going to go here for my birthday EVERY year!

Came to the Phoenix Club for the Rockbierfest and ended up checking out this pub because we wanted more food options. We weren't sure what to order, but one of the regulars who was next to us at the bar suggested we try the Schweineschnitzel Mit Schinken Und Schwizer Kase. She said that it is one of her favorite German dishes. Now we know why! It's a breaded pork cutlet with black forest ham and Gruyere cheese inside. As for the two sides, we got potato pancakes and grilled vegetables. The potato pancakes were like extremely crispy hashbrowns. I couldn't get enough of them! For dessert, we ordered the Oregon Berry Rumtopf, which was the perfect sweet treat to end our meal. They also have a great beer selection. Definitely will be back to check out their happy hour!
