Almost 9 months later I'm still a fan of Rogue - but here's a quick update.

As a now gluten-free vegan there are just a few options for food.  Unless you are on the road and stopping in, I suggest either eating before-hand or eating somewhere else if you're looking for dinner.  It's just too expensive to order a small green or black bean salad.

Drink-wise, they now make a Rogue Farms Mead rather than the Jasmine Mead.  For a completely vegan (and gluten-free) drink the Pear Cider on guest tap is delightful; I'm not a fan of sweet cider or wine, but this one is dry and candy-like.  You can also enjoy their homemade root beer (yum!).

They no longer have Tiki Tuesday, so don't show up in a Hawaiian shirt (unless you are just wearing one because you want to, which is completely fine).  The last I heard they were doing a Pajama Sunday, but I'd call ahead to double check.

Rogue remains a great local spot for good beer and a fun atmosphere.

Came here during March Madness to watch the Ducks lose (sad day).  We just sat in the bar and had a few pints, but the beer was good and the bartender was responsive.

Chris @ Rogue was super  great!  We mentioned that we were on our  "Honeymoon" and he comp'd our beers! We had a great lunch, bought a bunch of beers to go and had a very good experience all in all!  I really loved that our Rogue club cards have "both" our pics on!

Most expensive pint of Rogue you will ever buy -- and Rogue is NEVER a reasonable price.  You would think that the company that MAKES the stuff would at least serve a pint for a reasonable cost.   You'd be wrong.

Tolerable but overpriced food.  Nice view of the bay.  Why go here when there are so many better options?

We always have lunch here when we are in Newport. I have always had a good meal here. The clam chowder is very good. Good selection of different beers served on tap. They are pretty good. I do believe they used to have better tasting beer years ago when they were a new brewery. I think a lot of beers lose their taste when they bulk brew. Maybe because the yeast is not unique like it used to be.

UGH!!!!! Horrible bar tending etiquette at this bar.... Being from portland we knew Rouge and wanted to give this one a try .... We were 2 of 6 people in this place and my husband and I called a great friend in Alaska for 2 minutes and the bartender got pissed and  started shoving a no cell phones sign in my face and threatened to ring a bell ! This was totally rude and uncalled for !!!
PS. If the cell phone incident hadnt happened, this review would be 2 stars, instead of 1. The sliders and pretzel tasted like they had just been taken out of the freezer and the beer was sub par at best. Unless you like crappy food, below average beer, and extremely rude service....avoid this dump.

The bartender was extremely rude not just to me but everyone who came up to the bar. There was no greeting, he asked for my ID, looked at it and proceeded to complain to other customers about me in front of me. I personally think if you are working in customer service (I do myself)  that  your primary job title is to create a great customer experience and this did not happen here. This had been the worst customer service I have ever received and I don't believe he should be working here if this is the way he treats customers.

Of the 3 nights we were in Newport OR we ended up eating at Rogue all 3 nights.  They have a nice menu with lots of great choices.  We had everything from past to pizza to salmon and it was all great.  The beers are great, but that is to be expected since it's Rogue.  The bar tenders and staff are very nice and we even saw them there not working and they were super friendly to us.  It's a very cool bar, but also seems to be family friendly and the restaurant part looked pretty cool for families.   I miss Rogue, I would give anything to have one here in Orange County.

Really disappointed. This was our third visit in as many years. The middle-aged waitress was too busy flirting with the other customers to pay much attention to us. We first were informed that no albacore tuna dish was available. His pizza was undercooked to the point of having raw dough. My two Kobe beef sliders were both over cooked. I realized it isn't easy cooking a 2 ounce burger medium, but the char on them was not appetizing. The wasabi mayonnaise had no flavor whatsoever.

Had either waitress or the bartender, who had made a point of coming over not once, but twice to check on another table, checked with us, we could have told them the food was not to our liking.

Perhaps they should concentrate on running just another roadside beer tasting joint and forget about marketing themselves as a restaurant.

I've been here twice before, but the last time was 4 years ago so we decided to return. Good ambiance, seated just beyond the bar that was noisy with 5 or 6 drunks. I ordered the $12 Kobe burger, medium and my wife the fish & chips.

The burger was flat out raw. It was also dripping so much grease that I could have measured it with a dip stick. In my 55 years I have never seen a sorrier excuse for a burger. And for 12 outrageous dollars. The fries were OK.

The fish & chips had so much excess batter that it was about 75% batter and 25% fish. The batter is good, but one shouldn't have to take 3 or 4 bites to get to the fish.

We drank water and were never offered a refill when we ran out early on. Between the time we were clearly finished and got the check was 19 minutes (I kept track). As it was a rainy Sunday night, there were less than 50% full. Poor service.

Overall it was a deeply disappointing meal.

My family and I had a fabulous meal here earlier this month. The restaurant was fairly full and we had to wait a while for a table but the staff were very friendly and jovial and we were treated to some free samples of ale while we waited. We received a very generous helping of everything we ordered and the prices were quite reasonable. Pity we were too full to try the desserts but hopefully we will get the opportunity to return some day in the future.

Great atmosphere! LOVED our waitress and hostess. Ask for Rachel! Food was pretty good, not anything to wet your pants about. Great beer though! My husband isn't much of a beer drinker, and even he enjoyed it.

I was super dismayed to find the Whale's Tale gone and no fewer than three Mo's outlets on the Bayfront in Newport. Thank goodness for the Rogue Public House. Awesome chowda, and nitro Shakespeare Stout (skip the gin oyster shooters tho). Perfect lunch in sunny (wha' ???) Newport. PS the patio did allow a dog on a non-crowded Sunday afternoon-Zelda the lab to be specific.

Beer selection was excellent, and I loved how creative they were on all varieties. It was our first time trying Buckwheat Ale, Maple Bacon ale and Chipotle Ale. Chipotle Ale quickly became my favorite, and have been buying bottled ones here in Seattle.

Food was...meh. It's just pub food, like onion rings, burgers and salads. I ordered salmon caeser salad. I expected the salmon to be a big chunk, but it was like salmon flake all over the salad. WTF?

A lot of reviews seem to have complains on service, but our server was great. Beer = 5 star. Food = 2 star. Overall = 3 star for Rogue.

If you're looking for beer, 5/5 stars allllll the way.  I consider myself a beer connoisseur to some extent.  I've probably been to around 30 breweries and consumed beer from over 100 different breweries and I cannot help but continually love Rogue.  They have such a unique flavor and an outstanding variety.  There were 20+ brews on tap (primarily in-house beers).  On every table was a portfolio with a page dedicated to each beer indicating tasting notes, beer specs (IBU, ABV, origin of hops, etc.), and more.  All of their beer is amazing in its own right and this place is the right environment to get exposed to it.

As far as the facilities, expect typical pub atmosphere and food.  This is the same for pricing and quality of food too.

3 stars but that's cause I really liked my beer.  Juniper Pale.  Light, fresh, yum.  If I wasn't with my family, I would have drank much more than 1 lousy pint.

The dining area is upstairs and is meh. Unmemorable.  Same with the food, unfortunately.  I understand you're a brewery, but if you're going to serve food.....then you better make it good.  Just go for brews and you'll leave satisfied.

    my favorites...

mori-soba: so light and easy to drink
brown hazelnut nectar: so sweet and nectary, supremely nutty

just happened to spot this place off the bridge. they do very little to advertise its existence, but loved the character of the place. it's a bit stinky because it is the actual distillery/brewery so somewhat yeasty, but the bartenders are nice and fun.

Wow, I am shocked I am giving RPH 3 stars! I will say, we go here periodically through the year and always find the service and food to be just to our liking. The kids grilled cheese was recommended to me by my niece, and considering she has pretty good taste, I figured I'd try it. Unfortunately, adults can't order off the kids menu regardless of HOW many beers they buy. I got the adult version and here's how it was: bad. To say the LEAST! It was about 3 ounces of chèvre on white bread with a side of (barf) classic potato chips. I mean, c'mon! The whole thing was $10.95 and to top it off, it actually made me physically Ill.

My suggestion, make the adult version on the garlic bread you use for the kids - don't serve chips - EVER. Skip the chèvre- it's not good on grilled cheese.

Food was ok. Beer was ok. Atmosphere was really really bad though.

We sat in the new added-on area to the left when you walk in - the lights were way too bright!! Why would anyone want to sit in a room with horrible BRIGHT lights all around? It's a friggin pub... Bring sunglasses if you're going to stay here.

The room was very tacky and not setup with a thought at all. A mixed variety of tables and chairs that looked to be hand-picked from garage sales and thrift stores - and not in the "cool eclectic" kinda way.

I gave this place 2 stars only because our waitress was friendly and helpful.

Overall if you want good beer - skip it and head to the Bay Haven Inn down the street.

After going on the tour of the brewery we decided to go upstairs and have a snack and some cocktails.  Some of the people in our group don't drink beer so they were given a cocktail menu.  One person just ordered coffee at first ~ she literally got the bottom of the old pot of coffee and the cup was only half full and it was terrible.  The others ordered cocktails off the menu and some of them were not available because they were out of some of the ingredients.  The ones that ordered the beer were perfectly happy with the beer.
Then came time to order some appetizers.  Out of the three items we ordered, all they had was the garlic bread.
If I could remember the servers name I'd tell you because she was horrible as well.

Unfortunately we had already planned on going to the Rogue Ales Public House that night for dinner on the Bayfront.  Having been there before I know that the food is not outstanding but usually pretty good.  Again, drink orders could not be filled because they were out of some ingredients.  But first, the server tried to pass off a drink as what was ordered and when he was questioned about it, he said it was something else.  Then without asking, they brought over a different brand of Vodka for another one of us and thought they wouldn't figure that one out!
All the food came out at the same time but some of the dishes were very cold and had to be sent back.  The french dips were tough, the seafood pasta either had all scallops or all shrimp~not the combination of the two.

I know that this place is known for it's beer and if that's what you drink, you will have a good beverage but for people that don't drink beer, there should be other choices available that can be made.  As for the food, I just hope they are going through some kitchen issues and they get them corrected soon.

This was one of my "must do" spots when I recently visited the brewery. I'd never had the Rogue beers.

We got seated right away and the waitress brought us each a complimentary sample of one of their beers. Yum! It was really good and I appreciated the samples. They brought out another sample later on.

The food was pretty good. It was your typical pub food. The halibut fish and chips was tasty.

Place was pretty loud and rowdy in the bar.

We went here on a Friday night after a 3 hour drive from Portland, arriving about 9:30 p.m. We went here because it was the only thing we could find nearby that was open.

But the service was prompt and enthusiastic. The clam chowder was, it turns out, the best of three we had in Newport, but that's not saying much. The Dead Guy Ale went perfectly with my chowder. Hubby and I also had fish and chips, the fish being tuna. It was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good, and it fit the bill nicely, especially since nothing else was available at that hour on a May evening. And the price was nicely affordable.

    Boo!

Traveled all day from Seattle along the 101 to get here. It was our first trip as a new family (we just got a dog!) and we lined up a dog friendly hotel in Newport (the Hallmark Inn) and dog friendly dinner place - Rogue. I doubled checked, and on their website they said they even have a dog menu. Awesome.

It took longer than we thought, but we didn't want to stop for dinner - we wanted to eat with our puppy at Rogue! We finally arrived at 10pm, at which time we were scoffed at for trying to bring our dog in: "You can go in but your dog can't of course!". We explained we looked it up and it was supposed to be dog friendly. Doorman had no clue what was up and said there were too many drunk people there. I thought it was the bar's responsibility not to overserve?

Then of course nothing was open in Newport for us to even order carryout, except for one tiny 24 hr diner. SIGH.

I tweeted and called the next day to ask if we could come in for lunch - no tweet response and lady on the phone definitely had attitude when I asked about our dog. I get its not normal to let a dog in the restaurant but it says on their website!!! Super frustrating and I never got me hazelnut beer :(

Such a disappointment. Be warned fellow dog owners!

The first thing the server asked when she greeted us, was if we were over 21. She then brought everyone over 21 a sample. I think they have a daily sample - that day was Yellow Snow.

Our server, Becky has a great sense of humor! My husband tried a sample of everything they had on tap - and LOVED them! I had the JJ Dead Guy.

I recommend finding a book that tells about all of the different beers including how they got their name, the alcohol content, and IBUs. It is an interesting read - but the books only appeared to be on about half of the tables.

The food was good. It is not anything to rave about - but I did not go expecting a gourmet meal - we were there for the brew. I had a chipolte pasta that went great with my beer.

They do seem to cater to families with kids - I noticed in the window that it said family dining - which I thought was odd for a brew pub.

I also loved the paintings on the walls of the logos for each beer.

TIP: If traveling from out of town, there are hotel rooms above the pub. We wish we had known! We were staying at a different hotel, and visited before leaving town for lunch. I also heard that you get a free pint if you are staying at the hotel.

Definitely has the feel of a sea-side brew pub. We were seated quickly and given a couple of taster beers right away.

The menu is a bit heavy on seafood (not surprising consider it's in the harbor) but also has plenty of burgers, pizzas and other sandwiches - even tacos for those who want something else.

The ham sandwich was delicious though the presentation was nothing special. Still, I'm a function over form guy and delicious beats pretty every day when it comes to food.

My wife had one of their 10" pizzas which was great - very unique crust. Portion sizes were generous.

Service was friendly and entertaining.  Good value for money in a comfortable brew-pub atmosphere.

Can not go wrong with the sampler of beers.  Cheers to the pumpkin ale on the house sampler.  Best burger- kobe burger worth the price medium rare. Thanks for substituting a salad with tons of Rogue Blue cheese.  Chicago boy was pleased with his close to Chicago all beef hot dog.  He kept shoving it in my face ; ) to show me how all beef it was.  Sat by the window looking out at the windy, rainy marina - a seal with the most sultry eyes we spied.

PS Beer tour production - whole place smells like hops.  A boys' dream come true.  Also right on the water.

No one can deny the beer. It's freshly made across the bay. The food, however, is an entirely different story. YIKES.

We ordered the mac and cheese which had zero seasoning or flavor. If my boyfriend is voluntarily adding salt, we have a problem. We got the greek pizza too. It was typical, nothing special, although definitely better than the mac and cheese.

We also tried the hummus platter and found it practically inedible due to no flavor whatsoever.

This place is a tourist place; it has a tacky drop ceiling with too-bright lighting. It felt like I was in a basement. We took my  kids and were put into a "family" area, but the bar area looked just as depressing to be honest.

Maybe if I were there just drinking and getting bleary-eyed, it would have been more positive. The beer IS great. Make no mistake. Just don't eat the chow.

Rogue Ales Public House is one fun little spot along Newport's Bay Street. The walls of this bright establishment are decorated with the labels of Rogue's various Ales. Prominently on display are the Rogue Ales (of course!), T-Shirts, and various memorabilia from the Rogue Brewery.

However, despite being a brewery owned restaurant, the Rogue Ales are never pushed on to the customers. Whether you would like a soft drink, a Rogue Ale, or their own delicious root beer, the choice is left entirely up to you. The staff does not do a hard sell of their brews.

Speaking of the staff, our server (Becky) was fantastic. She explained that the Rogue name came from the fact that they are all a bunch of "rogues". The servers were all giggling and having a good time. The jovial attitude of the servers was transferring on to the customers.

On my visit I sampled the clam chowder and the grilled salmon sandwich. The chowder was outstanding. Finely minced clams and vegetables with a wonderful fresh cream taste. The sandwich consisted of a large, perfectly grilled strip of salmon. My salmon strip was so large that it didn't fit in the sandwich bun. The accompanying fries were also quite tasty.

Rogue Ales Public House will be forever bookmarked as a fun and delicious place to dine in Newport.

This was a fun little stop on the day after Christmas.  We got there and got to walk through the brewery to the line that extended down the stairs for seating.

I finally said to my bf who had been here before, is the line this long for the bar, certainly all these children aren't going to the bar.

We slipped up the steps and found the bar equally as crowded.  Well, to be fair it was a Sunday and the day after Christmas so pretty much everyone (except the hard working bar staff) had the day off.

We found a place at the bar and were quickly given a taste of their specialty beer.  I declined so the bf got two tastes and ordered one.  I stuck with water.

We quickly found a couple of bar stools by the window so we could look out at the bridge and the bay in general.  Nice view.  The only thing was, was it was a little high up for your food.  They need taller stools.  I can say this because at 6 foot tall, I still found it hard to reach the counter.  I can't imagine what a petite thing would have done.

I ordered the chicken pita wrap, which was tasty and of course with most wraps I had a hard time keeping it together but I made it work.  My bf got the burger which he said was also very well put together.  I stole some fries from him and life was good.

At one point, I decided I wanted a drink and the bf wanted a refill.  They had no one to come check on us so I got up and went to the bar and got a drink and a refill for him.  Hey, it was his birthday, I figured he should be able to have two beers.  :)

I asked if they made cocktails and she said yes, if it's something simple like rum and coke or vodka and cranberry.  I said oh yeah, vodka and cranberry is for me.  She made me a tasty mix and told me to come back if I needed more cranberry (which, I didn't it was perfect).  So, good information to know that they can make a basic cocktail if beer is not your thing, like it isn't for me.

I walked up to the counter a bit later to get the bill because they just didn't have enough help to bring it out.  This was 2pm not the normal lunch rush but again vacation time so everyone was out for a good time.  I think the restaurant side was crushed also because of the line.

All in all a good time, but I would definitely stay on the bar side to avoid the baby strollers.

I look forward to a return trip.

    Ahhhh, Rogue.

She (She? Sorry, having flashbacks to boyhood X-WOMAN crushes, move along, nothing to see here) was my first exposure to NW beer when I was a humble lvl 2 beer-serf in the post-apocalyptic zymurgical wasteland known as "Florida".

"These beers are too damn hoppy!", I said.

"I like malty beers" I pronounced.

"These are too expensive." I moaned.

    Now I'm all-grow'd up.

If anything, the beers aren't hoppy ENOUGH.

I still enjoy Rogue ales and this public house (they aren't being coy, "Pub" is simply a lazy version of "Public House) showcases a great many of them on tap.

You can find Rogue beer almost anywhere in the NW (and, even in F-word mentioned above), so why should you bother even coming here?!

Glad you asked, my friend.  They have many beers here that are nigh impossible to get on tap.  They have some beers here that you can ONLY get at Rogue Public Houses and/or the actual brewery.  Ask about their "GYO" beers (there are brewed with ingredients that are grown by Rogue themselves...growing the things you ferment is usually the thing of wineries, NOT ANY MORE).

The lad who served us here actually "lived and worked" on the farm.  I like to picture him in a cozy sleepingbag, snuggled up against herbal hop bines, bedding and rising with the Sun.

Today he was pouring some beer.  (I avoided using "ales" here, because Rogue does, in fact, brew some lager beers.  Google the difference yourself, I can't teach you EVERYTHING.)

I got a sampler.  He was so impressed by the beers I hand-selected (two of them were the aforementioned "GYO" ales.  Not giving away the acronym, FIGURE IT OUT.) that he gave me another one he thought I'd like on the house (own horn goes: TOOOOT TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!).

He also explained to me in very plain-language how some of the beers were made.  This was all basic knowledge to me, but he had no way of knowing how into beer I was just by looking at me.  I mean, everyone in the NW has beards.  Still, if I were in my younger years of beership, the nuggets of brew-knowledge he was laying down would have been much-appreciated.

    Some points of interest:
    - Browse the numerous bits of beer history here, posted all over the walls.  Try not to drool all over the Great American Beer Festival medals.
    - Join the Rouge Nation (ask around, you'll figure it out kid-o)
    - Ask about what goes on...UP STAIRS.
    - Visit the full-scale Rogue Brewery close by, if you have time.

    Thanks fer the mem'ries Rogue.

    Keep daring.

    Keep risking.

    Keep dreaming.

    Keep loving dogs.

    And I'll keep loving you.

if you are Gluten Free RUN RUN RUN

We have gone here twice and knew they didn't have a gluten free menu and that there might be some cross contamination issues and were okay with that.

Both times we had the same experience - started off by informing the server of our limitations and what we would be needing and we were met with Blank Stares and a VERY unhelpful attitude.

We ordered stuff without the bun and explained why and asked to see the ingredients on the chips.  our meals were brought out with the buns and no ingredients.  when we kindly pointed that out - the server rolled their eyes - huff and puffed and was pissed that they were going to have make new ones!
it was an off time_ not busy dinner and they were freaking hot dogs not some surf and turf dinner special.

I have heard from other GF people that they have had similar experiences there.

I wish we would have saved the 40 bucks!!

Yes, that's right, I paid $9 for a hot dog.  Nine.  Dollars.  Is that not insanity?  Sure it had caramelized onions and bleu cheese, but it's still a hot dog.  It was no better than a Costco hot dog, and we all know those are $1.50.

However, it was a good hot dog. Definitely not nine dollars good.  Possibly six dollars good, at most.  I just thought I'd go out on a whim.  A nine dollar hot dog must surely be magical!  But it wasn't.  The chili was also good, fantastic really, but another six bucks.

All wacky pricing aside, I mean this is a brew pub right, you come for the beers.  It left me feeling meh.  Just like those two little stars above say.  Meh, meh, meh.  I know nothing about the 'proper' temperature of a good beer, but when the place is stuffy hot I want a COLD beer.  Not a luke warm beer.  Not even a room temperature beer.  Had my beer been cooler, it would have rocked.  I love chocolate stout.  I do not love it when you mix it with food, but that's not Rogue's fault, that's mine.

Service was slow.  Like tortoise and the hare slow, but this time it didn't win the race.  If it weren't for good company, and not having anywhere to go afterward, I'd probably have died of starvation.  [PS - Mr. Server, rolling your eyes and balking at the thought of splitting our bill was really not necessary.  We get that its a hassle, but it's not like we were splitting it into individual tabs.  We aren't that mean.  Or are we?]

Danielle is right on with the Applebee's reference.  It's like a brewpub and an Applebee's mated and popped out a child not too sure what to do with itself.  It wants to reek of family friendliness, but it also want to bring in the folks who want a good beer.  I guess you can't win them all.

I've been there.  I've done that.  Check it off the list.  Now I don't have to go back.

I've been to a lot of roadside tourist traps and I think the one thing that holds them all together is how entertaining they can be no matter how  absolutely pathetic some of them are. Want to see the worlds largest rat? Some dinosaurs in the middle of the desert? A creepy wax museum for $15? You name it, I've done it.

Visiting breweries is nothing new - however visiting novelty breweries in Any-Coast-Town, USA is something very different. In these breweries, brews are upwards of $7 and the food while decent is nothing to jump up and down about. A few of us ate lunch here on a recent camping trip and the bill for each person was roughly $20+. The (pictured) salmon 'sandwich' I ate which was served on an english muffin cost a not-so-cool $13.75. Michelle's HOT DOG was $9. Add a cup of chili and you're up to $15. I can't lie, the salmon was tasty but totally inflated for what it was and for being a brewery their brews were nothing to write home about. Some were warmer than they should have been, some were out of stock and others left you with an unsatisfied, "...ok, well... that was a beer....and?" feeling afterward.

Should you find yourself moving through Newport - a town that describes itself as "a drinking town with a fishing problem", you're better off skipping the Rogue public house and moving right on down the road to one of the million salt water taffy shops or better yet, back onto the freeway...

For a brewery that has really awesomely designed bottles, and is at a great location, it's really...really cheap-looking and surprisingly family-oriented in a strange Applebee's kind of way.

You think Rogue, right? You think dark wood, pool tables, vintage beer posters maybe.

You don't think spotty formica'd tables, intense fluorescent lighting, a single mirrorless restroom, a sketchy card room, lukewarm beer, and lousy service. Okay, maybe you DO think lousy service, but definitely not a warm brew. I mean, they don't call it a "cold one" for nothin'.

And for a brewery, I was also surprised that out of all of the beers that I sipped off of, I was not impressed with any of them. Especially at $5 per pint.

And they were out of a few beers that were on the menu, and the Draught Root Beer that I was REALLY looking forward to. Seriously? You're a BREW PUB. Why are you OUT of these?

Prices were across the board a bit steep for the shoddy atmosphere. But I'm not gonna lie...it was some of the best seafood I've probably ever had. I mean, the ocean's, like, right there, and the fish melted in your mouth, the clams weren't chewy, and the calamari...holy crap...if you eat that stuff hot...just perfect. I refused to even touch the baby squid part (I'm not into drinking their milkshakes), but the rings alone were worth the trip to Newport. That's why the Public House gets three stars instead of one.

What a disappointment!  I live in San Francisco and I've rarely seen a waitstaff seem that stoned.  I'd only been sitting down a few minutes when I informed my boyfriend that I felt a rather harsh "Yelping" coming on.

The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is that my Kobe Chili was tasty.  However, the service was abominable!

The waiter, somewhat of Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall) look-alike, took our entire order, and then came back five minutes later to take it again.  Seeming perplexed, he thumbed through his notebook until he found it.

We waited and waited and waited and waited and then we waited some more --and FINALLY, our beers came.

After waiting for another eternity, our main courses came.  Shortly after that, Space Man set down our appetizer course.  Yes, you read that right.

After watching table after table with bowls of steamed clams, this appetizer was the part I'd been anticipating most.  What a bummer!  They were luke-warm and rubbery.  This is the first time I have ever ordered steamed clams and not eaten every last one.  We didn't even eat half.

My chili was ordered with cheese that never came.  I could not flag down a server for the life of me to get some cheese.  I tried so hard that other patrons started standing up to wave at them with me.  I finally gave up and enjoyed my rather-tasty chili, sans-cheese.  I tasted Steve's cheddar-beer soup.  It tasted like nacho-cheese --the kind from 7-11.  Yuck!

Steamed clams, 2 beers, a bowl of soup,  a bowl of chili and bad service: $32 --and we left a note on the receipt explaining that appetizers should be served before the entrees.

This place REALLY needs to get their act together.
