Had enjoyed their pizza for a while but have not ordered it for several months. Wow is it bad now! Wife and I threw out most of it. Bread sticks ended up being a small cheese pizza despite the receipt stating bread sticks. Don't think we'll be ordering food from here again. It's too bad as its been a decent local business.

Rookies is what I think of when I think of a dive-y sports bar.

Parking can be a challenge on certain nights so be aware of that. Furnishings and decor are best described as "cheap". Based on some of the clientele there must be a trailer park nearby. If none of these things bother you, read on.

Tuesday is $2 domestic bottle night, 25 cent taco night and half price (eat in only) pizza night. Do I have your attention?

The tacos were awfully good for the 4 for a dollar price. You can ask for sour cream and salsa on the side. The chunky salsa was good if somewhat mild/bland for my taste.

We ordered one of the large thin crust pizzas and it was very good with just the right thickness of crust. Not so thin that it's cracker-like plus the crust had a pleasant, hearty taste. Toppings were generous and flavorful. Only thing I could possibly fault was that the cheese was a bit sparse.

Service was average with the exception that we didn't get water with drinks when we asked for it (had to ask a second time) and no napkins or silverware were given when our food was brought to the table (we got it ourselves). The servers seemed to be pre-occupied with chatting up the regulars. It sucked in our case not being regulars.

Rookies has 2 pool tables, darts, a couple video games, golden tee, and an internet juke box on premise; smoking is outside with no tent or smoking "facility". Sometimes the smoke drifted inside when people were coming in or out.

There is a large room off of the bar area where tables can be moved together if you are in a big group. The acoustics are awful in the back room so get used to saying "What?" a lot.

Overall a solid sports bar that could be made better only by wait staff who were a bit more "with it".

Rookies was my favorite spot in the world. I moved away and i miss it so much. The people, the food, the atmosphere...unbeatable!!  I rate it 5 stars!!

Here is my honest opinion from a regular fan.

    - Great Pizza.
    - Great Value
    - Good Tacos
    - Good Wings
    - Friendly Staff/Neighborhood bar feel
    - Fast Delivery
    - Overall great food/value.  During the week 1/2 price pizza.
    - One of few places to get food late in the area.
    Areas of improvement:

Never know what you are going to get as far as indoor air quality.

Keep the smokers away from the door and clean up the butts outside.  It's pretty disgusting.

Do something about the bugs outside.

Something is wrong when even the staff doesn't recommend the draft beer.  One of the worst drafts I have had.   One of the worst blood Mary's ever served on Sundays. Perhaps come up with  known good recipe for staff to follow.

Place has a great foundation.  With a little TLC it could be even a better place.

Uhh, I guess I need to eat my words.. I kind of trashed this place in a prior review. I think Rookies has just gone through a few growing pains.
I kept going here every few weeks. Anyway, now the service is really good. The pizza is fantastic!! And the guy that runs the place is really taking care of things. $.25 tacos on Tues. are a great bargain. And wings are $.30 on Wed... Now my friends and I will call each other and say it is "Taco Tues. or Wing Wed." and we just meet there.. Give em a try and I think you will be very please.. Good place for kids as well. Also pizza delivery is quick and the pizza is excellent.. YES!! I was totally wrong about Rookies before..

I occasionally work at a place on Wooster lake and this is a common spot for us to go and unwind after a long day of work. There's been quite a few upgrades over the years, including a decent internet-connected jukebox, some flatscreen TVs and I'm not positive, but I don't even think they had a real menu the first few times we went there.

I'm not a drinker, but everyone I've talked to has been pleased with their drinks. We always get a plate of cheese-fries or something, but haven't explored their menu much further.

Great little sports bar with good food and cold drinks.  They have great food and drink specials all week long and the staff and owner are always friendly.  If you haven't tried it yet...you're missing a great little place.

$2 Miller Lite bottles! Need I say more?  Pizza is GREAT, fast service and $2 MILLER LITE BOTTLES!

Every other Saturday is karaoke and the opposite Saturdays they have a DJ, good time.

Relaxing, laid back with pool tables plasma TVs, darts and good food!
