Tuesday night $5 movies. Â Be sure to get there early, because, yes, there is a line.
Downside to our experience was the young woman txting throughout the movie. Â Really, you can't wait a couple of hours to chat with someone. Â And the light from cell phones is so distracting. Â I go to the theater to sit in the DARK and watch the movie. Â Not the fault of the theater, but does speak to the crowd that goes there.
Nothing better than watching a new movie with your family that costs less than an arm and a leg.
My family and I went to watch Man of Steel the Saturday it came out as a Father's Day outing. For matinee for adults, the movie was $6.50 each- what a bargain! Regular tickets are around $8-$10, so you're still saving money by going here.
The theater isn't one of your world class theaters with crazy systems and such. It's a solid place to watch a movie, no special gadgets. They have really big screens, and well sized movie theaters, so my family of 6 had a easy time finding a row for us, even if we were late to the movie.
While not as flashy as most theater, this was a great place to watch a movie. I would go here over many other main movie theaters in the area!
My favorite theater! I never feel like I am an odd man out here like at Edwards... Which although is in Camarillo rarely seems to have local people there! I also don't feel like I am at some underaged hormone festival with loud teeny hoppers happy they aren't  in the presence of their parents! The prices for popcorn and coke are actually cheaper than Edwards and they have way better candy selections. I have also managed to take advantage of their specials, frequent buyer card, although that was stopped, not sure why.  There help Is always friendly and remember myself and my daughter as she is usually my movie partner. I love contributing to local business in Camarillo, and remain faithful to the roxy!
Review Source:Handicapables:
For Deaf and severe to profound hearing loss...they provide a closed caption system. Â This system works in each theater. Â You check them out at the box office. Â There is a limited supply of the cc system. Â See photo.
For Hard of Hearing, or Hearing Impaired...they have sound amplifying headsets. Â I attached a photo for that system too.
Mobility Impaired:
Entry level of each theater has wheelchair cut-out in the seats for you to stay in the w/c if you need plus regular seating for your companions. Â The handicap parking seems to be frequently full, so arrive early just in case you need more time to get inside. Â
Staff is very friendly towards handicapables. Â YAY ROXY!
My favorite local movie theater. Prices are less expensive than most other theaters ($10 for an adult ticket), and they have great specials--$5 movies on Tuesdays, free popcorn on Wednesdays. The theaters are clean and roomy, they always have a good movie selection. Best yet, it attracts a mature, respectful crowd, even on weekend nights.
Review Source:Excellent theater! The staff is professional, friendly and always smiling. Great layout and comfortable seats. Sound system is awesome and have never been in an audience where someone is talking loud or being obnoxious. And a Starbucks right in the same center! I try to see all my movies here!
Review Source:Great place to see a movie. Â I like this theater better than Edwards, but I live on the other side of Camarillo close to the Edwards, so I don't always go to the Roxy. Â With children though, one inevitably has to use the bathroom, so I like Roxy much better because of that. Â With Edwards, I don't know what they were thinking putting the restroom upstairs??! Â It feels like you are missing even more of the movie making the trek from the theater to upstairs restrooms.
Less crowded here. Â Parking is much easier too.
I think I found my new cheap movie theater! Woohoo :D
Thanks to Groupon and Yelp for showing me to $5 Tuesday movies, I'll come here for any recently new movie at a bargain price. They also have other deals too such as family packs on weekends or getting a free small popcorn with a ticket purchase on Fridays I believe.
It's well cleaned and there's plenty of bathroom stalls. I'm even impressed by their surround sound system in the theater too.
You bet your bottom dollar I'll be coming back ;D
Tuesday nights $5. Family packs on the weekends I believe. Large popcorn and 1 free refill for only $4.75. Compared to Edwards theater, it's a steal.
Parking is good and lots of food places in the area if you want to eat something before or after your movie. Outlet Mall customers normally fill the Edwards theater parking lot.
Seating is great. Lots of room and seats are not squishy. Stadium seating.
$5 movie nights??? HECK YES! I Â had not been here since it was...gulp...United Artists. It's exactly the same...just different name, which was nice to see. The prices for things are typical for a movie theater. I love the seats here more than Edwards. The arms go up, which is perfect when you're there with your sweetie and want to get close without injuring your spleen. Â If you remember UA staff you'll be happy to see some of the previous workers are now working there again .
Review Source:My theater of choice for indie films is the Paseo Camarillo but this is my theater of choice for the latest Hollywood blockbusters. The sound, picture, and seating (every theater has arena seating) are all excellent. The staff is also very friendly and professional. Amazingly, they are cheaper than the other multiplex in town, which isn't nearly as nice as the Roxy.
Review Source:We love the friendly staff at the Roxy and we love the refills on large popcorn and sodas. Our Girl's Movie Nights are always at the Roxy and it is nice that the theater is not over crowed on a weeknight. Oh and I think the popcorn here is better then the other theater in town.
My kids love the seats and they do offer booster seats for the little ones.
I love this theater! They always have the latest movies I want to see and their 3D glasses are the BEST! They are more comfortable then any other local theaters. Â
Me and my girlfriends prefer this theater to other local theaters due to the cleanliness, butter layered on your popcorn(not do it yourself) and smiling staff.
At the very beginning, I really thought this theatre wasn't going to last because the workers weren't very knowledgeable, the facilities weren't always clean and the food wasn't very good. However, over the years, their service hasn't definitely improved and I will pick this theatre over the GHETTO Edwards Theatre any day of the week!!!
In a way, I would say I'm a little impartial because I love any movie theatre establishment that is within walking distance to a Starbucks (literally...STEPS AWAY FROM THE THEATRE) and has plenty of food selection without feeling too much like a strip mall. You can find Baja Fresh, Tacone and a Thai restaurant in the same plaza and right across the street there are several other places to eat like Subway, Cold Stone and a BBQ place.
The theatre itself is great. Reasonable prices (in comparison to other theatres...not what I think we should be charged to watch a movie), the seats are comfy and popcorn is good. I think they offer free refills on large items but I can't remember. They do only have one set of bathrooms in the front lobby, so that can be a little inconvenient...so make sure you piddle before you sit down!
Very nice, seemingly unknown, theater!!
The theaters are a decent size for such a small place! The seats are very comfy and you get lots of leg room (not that I need it). It is a very clean theater and the staff working there seem pretty laid back and polite.
Every time that I have gone it hasn't been too crowded which is also nice.
Their snack bar is very clean and presentable. Oh, and did I mention that the prices are more reasonable then other movie theaters in both snacks and movie tickets? Not a major difference but every little bit helps!
I have to begin by saying that I may be somewhat biased, because my cousin works here.
That being said, I like this theatre. It's nice and clean, and has stadium seating.....stadium seating is a NECESSITY for my fun sized ass!! Â It can get busy, but it's definately not as crazy as the Edwards. Now that there's a lot of stuff in the area, I think it's a more convenient place to see a movie.
I took my kids here to watch the Vegitales movie and they were very accomodating. Â They don't have any sort of student discounts, which I think is pretty bad considering the cost of movies today, and the competition home DVD service is posing. Â But a good, clean theatre, good seats, decent snack bar, which, obviously, is also grossly overpriced.
Review Source:A la Chris Farley - Mr Matt Damon, You member that time, at the Roxy when we went to see your last Bourne movie? Remember that guy, during the movie, he was talking on his cell phone? And member when a guy asked him to go outside, and he said "make me" and he said he was some death match champion and he can do whatever he wants. And you member how that movie was totally pumping testosterone with gadgets and action and fighting with you and that hot chick? Well that guy calmed down for a little while but then towards the end of the movie, member when he started calling that guy's girlfriend a skank or something, and she was like trying to hold him back from defending her honor? I had to pee so I didn't see if they got in a fight, but your movie was Awesome! Ya, .. huh huh, um, that was great.
Oh, and the movie theatre is nice too.
I like the Roxy. Even when the lines are long, they move pretty well. I never have complaints about the concession stand. All the theaters have stadium seating (unlike Edwards and the independent theater). I guess that's it, I mean, what else do you need from a movie theater?
When I go, I like to park on the side and use that exit for a quick escape after the movie.
This theater was known as the UA when I was in high school. I work just about 10 minutes away and always try to catch a new movie when I can as this theater is empty (which is good for me, I don't think so good for the owners) even on opening day for movies. They still have a decent matine price at less than $10. It's always clean and the staff is really courteous and professional. Just like any theater, it does get packed during weekend nights.
Review Source:I love being close to this theatre--it's like a 5 minute drive (at most) from Mission Oaks. Woohoo! I remember when it was some other theatre and there wasn't much nearby..heck, that was before the lemon orchids got chopping down for a ton of houses. Anyways-- the Roxy is a nice, stadium-seating theatre..Nearby the high school, so I think kids might hang out there after football games or something. It's nice to have the Starbucks nearby, perhaps for a bit of coffee after a movie-date. :) Prices are high like most movie theatres, and the people who work there look like they want to kill me when I get in line and order a popcorn. Very unhappy people. Overall- I like the location and newness.
Review Source:This really is a nice theater. The nicest in Camarillo these days, since Edwards has gone a little downhill. I don't generally go to any of these theaters because of prices these days. I'm fine waiting a few weeks or so to see movie at the $3 theater in Ventura. But occassionally I do like to see the movies when they come out and this theater has very nice stadium seating. Unfortunately for me this theater is on the opposite side of town for me.
Review Source:Yay!!! A nice theater in Camarillo. We don't have to drive to Ventura or Westlake anymore! When this theater took over the spot that the old UA theater used to be in, my family all took bets for how long it would last. We were not optimistic, being as familiar as we were with the sad fate of the UA. But we were wrong! Thank goodness! The Roxy has lasted and seems to be doing quite well, judging from how many people have been there all the times that I've gone.
The Roxy is just plain nice. It's clean, it has stadium seating, it has great sound, and it has helpful and efficient employees. Plus, it is within walking distance of a number of fun snack and dinner options. What more could you ask for?
