There are a few things in life that can compare to the wings at Rumor's. These are hands down the best wings I have ever eaten, and nothing in Louisville can really compare. In addition, the fried pickles are among the best I have eaten.
The staff is super friendly, they are all very upbeat and very talkative. My glass has never been empty before I received an refill. The only gripe I would have is that since it is "seat yourself" sometime it can take a little for a server to come find you especially if it's busy and you are in a small ground.
The prices are a little better than average. Pretty fair overall. I am never surprised with some ridiculous price once the check comes.
I will always come back to this place whenever I come back to visit in town. I would suggest this place to anyone, especially if you're looking for some good wings.
I was in Louisville visiting my parents. We were all out front talking to neighbors one day and they told us if we like wings to give Rumors a try. And since I LOVE wings, we did. That night.
I was unaware that Rumors was also a seafood restaurant so this review is based solely on my experience with the wings.
From the start I was impressed with the layout of the tables. There were people waiting in the small entrance which usually signifies a decent place to eat. When we were seated, I was extremely impressed that our table wasn't butted up against others. They could have easily fit 5 more tables in the room we were in but had not.
I ordered the wings, HOT and sloppy. The neighbor said to order them sloppy and I wouldn't be disappointed. So I did. It cost less than a dollar more and the wings come drenched in sauce. One of my favorite things to do is dunk my fries into the extra sauce, so this was a welcomed mess. The fries were just ok, but they give you a boat load.
In the end, I thought the wings were outstanding and you should give them a try. A very nice tangy sensation, that great feeling that gets your mouth watering before you even taste the wing. You know what I'm talking about!
PS: The neighbors later said that they like the oysters when going to Rumors. So you might try them if you like oysters!
