I went against my better judgment and ordered food for the 2nd time in two years. Not much has changed, I actually threw food away. Wings were overcooked, dry, appeared to be leftover from a previous nite, they were that tough. Calzone was just as thin and tasteless as last time, but in addition it was burned on the bottom (black). The calzone fills a pizza box but is less than 1" thick. If you cut into it and look sideways, you can barely see any filling, you are essentially eating dough with some cheese paste. The dough they use (last time I got an inedible pizza) is awful. The best part of the meal was the celery and bleu cheese. Service was friendly, might be an OK place to get a beer and some pre-packaged chips.
Review Source:Sal's is a great new find for a pizza and beer neighborhood joint. Â I recently went with a friend after they suggested it and was a fan! Â
We arrived during a college basketball game and the place was alive with fans decked out in the home team's attire. Â There were several big screen TV's around the room for easy viewing. Â We seated ourselves and were promptly met by a server who took our order. Â
We ordered pizza, which arrived promptly after being made and cooked fresh. Â One thing that makes or breaks a pizza joint for me is the crust and this one was tasty! Â Traditional style instead of thin, it was just the right mix of crusty and doughy to make for a perfect pizza foundation. Â There were several beer specials that afternoon during the game, so be sure to wet your whistle with whatever's on tap when you visit. Â
Overall the place felt really inviting, the staff was friendly, and it was a place that I can't wait to return to to watch the next college ball game!
