We were driving thru and stopped- expecting a generic "sysco burger" and were pleasantly surprised.  Very good and quick.  Fix'ens bar was great- will put on list for future.

Good burger. Overpriced. Tempted to quote Jim Gaffigan's lines about salad bars at the condiment bar.

I feel like I can give a unique perspective here. When I lived in Louisville as a kid, I used to come here all the time, get a big burger, and a cookie to go, and had really fond memories of the place. So on a recent trip to Louisville, I decided to pop in for lunch, and I wasn't disappointed.

The place looks, feels, is a carbon copy of what it was 20 years ago ... a simple burger joint with a patio-like decor that serves sandwiches, a get-your-own-drink area, a huge toppings bar, and a bakery with awesome cookies and baked goods. The fact it hasn't changed though is very much to its benefit.

I got the half-pound burger with onion rings. It was ready within a couple of minutes, as they keep a few toasted buns made and cook the burger to order. The burger itself was tasty, but it's the bun that makes this. If you've ever had a Fuddrucker's burger, you have an idea for how it tastes ... soft bakery style with a toasted bottom that has a little bit of crunch, and keeps the bun from getting mushy at all. This is better than that in my opinion.

The toppings bar has a nice mix of both toppings across single items (multiple types of onions and lettuce for example), sauces, and both whole and chopped items. They advertise 40 items in all, and it probably ends up being maybe 25 different ones, but nonetheless it's really impressive. Outside of cheese sauce and maybe diced tomatoes, I can't think of anything it's missing.

The onion rings were big, steakhouse style, and were solid. The side items here just fill you up, as long as they're good, the burgers are the reason you come here, no doubt.

The cookies? They absolutely melt in your mouth, and it's the only place that I know that has a Reese's Pieces cookie. My only regret here? I left them with my parents in Northern Kentucky by accident, they never made it back to Ohio! Doh!

Anyways, it was worth the trip, the price was good ($9), and they do the one thing they set out to do very well ... no different than they did all those years ago.
