Delicious fresh seafood.  We arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday.  There was one other customer.  One employee working who took our order, prepped and cooked our food and took our money.

I ordered fried shrimp plqatter ($9.99) and my son had the fish sandwich ($6.99) with fried pickles ($2.99).  The employee made the batter up fresh right then, dipped the seafood and fried it up.  The seafood and pickles were very crisp with very little grease.  Shrimp were fresh and sweet.  Fish sandwich was awesome, thick cod fried with roasted red pepper aioli.

The soda fountain has eccentric choices.

It's gone through some aesthetic changes lately but Seafood Connection still keeps it's food right on track! Focusing less on the market aspect and more on a service restaurant will suit them fine, as I have enjoyed their lunch counter for many years. Is there a better fish sandwich in Louisville? Yes, but this one is still good. Here's the key though, I HAVE NOT YET FOUND A BETTER LOBSTER ROLL IN LOUISVILLE!! You come here, you get the lobster roll, end of story! A delicious treat from the northeast, its a cold, seasoned lobster salad on a toasted, buttery roll. It sounds simple, but it's simply perfect.

I went to Seafood Connection for the first time today, for lunch.

First I feel I should address the concerns of Ric W on 7/24/2012.  I, too, witnessed much of what Ric saw on his visit.  The young man preparing our food didn't use gloves and repeatedly, almost like a nervous tic, wiped his hands on his pants and shirt.  I did see him wash his hands once, in the appropriate sink.  Though I didn't watch him like a hawk, he really didn't do anything extraordinarily offensive.  I'd say if you're squeamish about this sort of thing, you may wish to avoid this restaurant...pretty much along with all other restaurants as well.  I'm sure much worse happens on a regular basis, simply without our seeing it, and we survive just fine.  Certainly, though, I would welcome better sanitary practices.

On to the food.  It was excellent, and was close to warranting the establishment a 5-star rating here if not for the aforementioned issue.  I had the salmon Reuben.  Though there was no sauerkraut on the sandwich, everything else was there including a succulent cooked-medium slab of salmon in place of the corned beef.  There was just the right shmear of dressing on it, rather than a big gloopy glob.

I then decided to try the crab cake sandwich (OK, so I'm a bit of a pig).  It too was very good, though not quite as good as the "Reuben."  The con was the dull English muffin that was used for the bread.  The rest of the sandwich was very good, including the pleasantly spicy and soft crab cake.

My wife had the jumbo codfish taco, and enjoyed it a great deal.  It had lots of fresh produce on it, which was purchased from Paul's Fruit & Vegetable Market down the road.

I definitely recommend this restaurant.  If the lack of hand sanitation bothers you, maybe sit at one of the alfresco tables, or, don't look.
