I love spicy food and I love that you can get really spicy and delicious food. They ask what level of spice you would like from 1 to 5 but you can go beyond 5, if you're so inclined. They'll also bring some powdered ghost pepper if you'd like to up the spice level a bit more.
I love the pineapple curry and the spring rolls. I'm so glad they moved to this location as the old one was always so cramped.
The two negative things I have to say are that it's a bit expensive and I've never had a good service experience there. Every time I've gone no matter the circumstance (lunch, dinner, busy, slow) the service has been pretty bad. I've always had to wait a long time to place an order, I've had to request refills on water, servers disappear for long periods of time, long waits for checks at the end of the meal, etc.
I just love this place. Their food is phenomenal. I've had Thai from several other places and the only one who comes close (and actually exceeds Simply Thai) is Thai Smile in Frankfort, Kentucky of all places.
I have to write a disclaimer that I've never actually eaten IN at Simply Thai, we've only ever gotten take out.
They would get five stars if it weren't for the wait time (45 minutes to an hour any time we've ordered takeout) and the fact that it's next to impossible to find a parking space during busy hours. (Why can't the mini mart across the parking lot forsake their empty spaces?!)
I will continue to go here, no need to go to any other Thai place in town.
I wish I could rave about this. It's local and it's thai food but I have been disappointed multiple times. People have been saying it is the best pad thai in Louisville, but I must disagree. It's just noodles, egg, and bean sprouts and whatever meat you chose. The best pad thai I have ever had came with carrots and green onions and cilantro and limes! So much flavor! It's what I crave! So I was bummed by my experiences here with the pad thai, it was honestly better second day and cold... Also I wish they had a lunch special where it wasn't so expensive. I have paid less for more, in the heart of Manhattan!
