El Tarasco

El Tarasco has good, cheap Mexican food and great margarita specials. The quality of food can be hit or miss but overall I'm satisfied when I eat here. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go here but when I'm in the St. Matthews area, it's an inexpensive way to get your Mexican fix. The servers are all really friendly as well.

Went here on a Monday night for dinner after a disappointing Mexican meal at another place the previous night. The food was very good and affordable - we ordered the carnitas, and a beef enchilada (beef tips) and ground beef taco combo. They served 2 types of salsa with the chips, both of which were excellent! The service was top-notch. Oddly enough, we didn't drink margaritas that night but we might just go back and sample their cocktails on May 5th along with some yummy Mexican food.

My latest favorite Mexican. Get the seafood soup. Nice servers. Great salsa & they keep it coming - this is very important for a Mexican restaurant! They have great drink specials as well. I love the combo plates & food is yummy. Can't wait to go back!
