After hiking up Mt. Bierstadt, we stopped for lunch. Â The green chili was okay, as was the quesadilla, but the "salsa" was inedible. Â They should've simply opened a jar of Pace and called it done. Â Instead, we were served something that was mostly chopped cilantro and onion with a tiny bit of chopped anemic, woody tomato chunks.
Review Source:Recently went back after not having been there in about a year. Â It never would have occurred to me that they would get worse, but they somehow applied themselves and made that Race to the Bottom. Â
I had ordered their French Onion Soup, which was never all that great but now was like a salt lick with some onion flavoring and a skinny slice of cheese floating on the top. Â Totally inedible. Â You're better off using a soup mix and making it yourself. Â The service, which had always been friendly an efficient, was also poor to the point of being laughable. Â Every single time the waitress went past, she seemed generally surprised we were still there and might even want something. (Maybe she's accustomed to people skipping out before they get their food?) Â Glasses remained unfilled and I felt our being there simply bothered her. Â The only saving grace - and the only reason they get two stars instead of one, is because the portobello mushroom burger was actually pretty decent. Â The sad conclusion is that this restaurant is truly just a burger and bar, with a few other lousy things on the menu to in order to give the appearance of having actual choices.
I've been here once and had their Fish and Chips.
First off, the portions were huge. Got a huge piece of fish and a lot of chips.
Now the bad. The chips tasted like nothing, and while we're at it, why were they chips and not fries? Everyone should know that fish and chips is not potato chips, its fries.
Second and what really did it for me was the fact my stomach hurt the entire next day after eating here. Maybe it was the grease, maybe it was just the food, I don't know, but I have no intention to eat here again.
I guess when you live in the mountains you are mostly stuck with mediocrity. So this is par for the course I guess.
