The food was not very good. I found that things that should have been OK for me to eat as a vegetarian had meat in them (green beans, etc). I guess they are known for their steaks and everyone in our group complained about theirs. The only good thing was the hot rolls (in hind site I should have just eaten those as they were amazing) and the bread pudding which I hardly got any of since the pan was almost empty.
Review Source:I was asked to have dinner here, usually it's not too bad.
We ate here last night , the steak was good but all the other stuff was just low end food reminds me of a bad night at country buffet. But it was only $10 each !!!
The desert table looked like it was worked over by unruled kids and no one cleaned it up . Never again! Now I know why we didn't have to wait !
I know that they are connected at the hip with Old Country. So I wasn't expecting much. On Sunday they do not serve lunch. They go from breakfast, straight to dinner? Great! 25 dollars for two people. I could have gone to a restaurant and gotten served. I went to the carving station 3 times and nobody would even look at me from behind the counter. Is that self serve also? If I had a pocket knife I would have cut it myself. I know all the food is straight out of a bag. But if you don't read the directions, it will turn out even crappier than it is suppose to. The Jello had a hard film over the top of it that you couldn't even chew. Yuk! The fried chicken tasted like the oil was burnt. The pulled pork was horrible. But the crowd was a delight to watch and listening to these broads talking about their kids crapping in their pants. If Walmart ran a buffet. This would be it!
Review Source:I like buffets. That being said, I have learned not to expect to awful much from them. Â Ryans didn't disappoint or wow me. Â As expected.
The service at buffets can sometimes get annoying if you get one of those waiters that hovers over your table waiting to Snatch an empty plate like a vulture waiting its turn at the dead wildebeest the lion pride is savaging. Â Or if your waitress totally vanishes just when you want a refill of your drink. Â But like I said, it was expected.
The food on the other hand was great! And isn't that the real reason we subject ourselves to the sub-culture microcosm that is the buffet? Recommended: fried chicken, the sweet carrots, the mashed taters, the dinner rolls, the ceasar salad dressing, the banana pudding. Â Stay away from the sweet potato pie and the meatloaf. Â 'nuff said.
I am a huge fan of buffets, and not above eating at low dollar chains. Â I am, however, above watching a waiter eat the last half of a roll left on a table.
Once a waitress brought me a drink refill while holding a baby. Â Same visit, more than three children running barefoot in laps around the buffets. Â Who cares how the food is, this place is too ghetto to even risk it.
If you want to brave it, make sure you register with a new email address every time before you go, and print the coupon out. Â See, now the place is making ME ghetto.
There comes a time in every man's life where he is faced with tough decisions. One is faced with difficult decisions where all future happiness will be decided: baked or mashed & Steak, chicken, or smoked sausage, or all of the above. Â These were only a few of the questions that faced me this past Sunday. Â I shirked my responsibility and just went with all of the above!
I love buffets and this place has an excellent selction for eveyone. Â They will make you a steak cooked to order and although mine was way more done than I wanted it to be it ws still a decent taste. Â They constantly kept putting out fresh food and athough it was a Sunday afternoon, the place was not overly packed. Â Everyone was really friendly and they kept out table clear of used plates. Â If you are ever up in Michigan City then stop by this place.
