Went for dinner at 7p on a Wed night.  The restaurant part was dead.  Service was ok, nothing spectacular but nothing bad.  Food was good.  On the bar side the music was really loud, however on the restaurant side it was manageable.

Joined my boyfriend and a couple of his friends here for drinks on a Saturday night. We got there a little while before it started getting "poppin'", and found ourselves a table on the patio. I have to say that contrary to others, I really liked the layout of the first floor and the decor is definitely not bad. And I really liked the patio that overlooked the fountains and I think it would be a great place to hang out with friends (though probably not inside/first floor because it was loud as hell). Can't give this place 4 stars though because their drinks are hella pricy

The staff here is pretty unhelpful and the security is VERY strict. Anyone there with the red polo in my experience is pretty unfriendly. Also, if you are under 21 or have someone with you who is, don't plan on making it past 9pm here. The staff will come around and check IDs several times even if you are already there having dinner.

Aside from the staff issues I really enjoy this place, and the food at the restaurant is good too. Awesome crab cakes!! The bands have always been good and the clean, safe atmosphere is what keeps me coming back.

There is also great line dancing on one side, and lessons during the week for those interested. You can play pool upstairs, or watch an awesome band on the restaurant side.  AND there's corn hole on the patio!

Ive been to plenty of clubs and bars throughout Hampton Roads, this one if by far the largest ive ever been to. This place is aimed more for the country folks on one side and the rock fans on the other side. They even have a mechanical bull that you can drunkenly humiliate yourself with. The larger side with the mechanical bull has a huge dance floor in between the bars. Country folks, likes country linedancing music. That is exactly what they play. At least for a good portion of the night, then they switch it out to hiphop. On the second floor, they have a casual gaming/sports bar with their billiards tables and tvs with sports playing. Getting lost in this place is a very easy thing to do. Once you get out to the main floor you can go through the hallway in the back and into their other fairly large stage room with tables and a live band playing. Near the hallway there is actually a different door that reaches out into their outside balcony, also known as their smoking area. The drinks were not cheap and they add up rather quickly. Only reason I had went here was because of a birthday, doubt I would ever just go here for fun.

this bar is poor, it is huge which is nice, and seems to draw the crowd of hampton. nothing great about the quality. bigger is not better. the best thing about this place is the cover bands at the supper club.

This is a BIG place. On the Thursday night that I went to Saddle Ridge, the place was only about half full, and the band was good, but LOUD.

Drinks are not cheap here- domestic bottles were $4. Watching people on the mechanical bull was a good distraction, but conversation was hard to engage in over the din of the band.

Pool tables upstairs offered a respite from the cacophony downstairs.

I'd come back, but with a whole lot more cash for the expensive "cheap" beer.

This place is HORRIBLE and the security take their job way too seriously. I came FROM NEW ORLEANS with my bikini team to an EVENT at this shitty place and the door guy carded my whole team! That's outrageous for 1. I got big black X's on my hands because my ID was misplaced from the airport. When I found it, i went to show the bouncer and he didn't believe it was me. Then the manager came and he didn't believe it was me either! He said my ID was fake (because he had never seen a LA license before!!) and was making a scene. As if I would ever come to this shithole if I didn't have to! Fucking MORONS.

I went for the first time with a friend at 5pm tonight on a Tuesday. We ended up drinking a good amount but had someone picking us up. Still the bouncer cut us off. They lost what could have been a local and weekly customer because they cut us off too soon.

Saddle Ridge is a ridiculous place in the Power Plant section of Hampton. It's a massive club that masquerades as a country western bar. They even have a mechanical bull thing that is a cheap knock-off of what is really offered at real, authentic country western bars. Drunken people stumble up to it while their friends video tape them with their phones. It's ridiculous and vaguely pathetic. The service is horrible there. It's impossible to get the bartenders' attention and the place is usually overcrowded. There are two sides. The entrance side has a DJ and every tenth song or so they put on some country music and get a few people line dancing just to keep the "theme" up, but really it's a vapid top 40 club, and not even a fun one at that.

The other side usually features a band or some other live act. It's too loud, but I prefer it to the moronic display usually going down in the first room. The place is chock full of jackasses and the security staff are equally as brainless, but usually with a terrible attitude from dealing with drunks. The whole feel of the place is terrible and I avoid it as best I can, typically trying my best to talk friends out of going there and dragging me in.

Gawd, this place is just awful for eating at.  I can't say anything about the nightlife portion since we were there for dinner.  To start, we stood around for a couple of minutes not knowing whether we sat ourselves or were to wait to be seated.  No one came by, so I picked out a table.  The waitress showed up a few minutes later to take our drink order.  We got our drinks in little plastic cups.  The White Russian I ordered tasted funny.  I couldn't put my finger on it, maybe it was slightly soured milk, but I drank the whole thing (tiny plastic cup!) before I could figure out what it was.  The food was marginal, at best.  The onion rings were soggy.  The fish was bland, and the crabcakes were forgettable.  We didn't bother ordering dessert.

This place is fine. I don't know what the other reviewers experienced, but our visit there was great. Wednesday night is all-you-can-eat rib night for $10.95. They were hot and tasty. Draft beers were $2. Jordan, our server, was sweet, cute, and served us quickly. This is not Outback Steak house. It is a nice, large bar that serves food. We would go again.

Saddle Ridge is an awful place to go to as a bar or as a restaurant. The décor is an awful knock-off of a country western bar. There are overpriced pool tables, a mechanical bull area that feels inauthentic as it slings drunk people around, and tacky decorations on the walls. It's a complete fake that calls itself country western because one in ten songs is a line-dancer. It's impossible to get the attention of the bartenders and the security staff treats everyone like potential problems instead of welcome guests. And yet the place is often packed on the weekends with a low common denominator of bar-goers.

The food isn't great, but it's not terrible. They have mediocre burgers and sandwiches. The BBQ ribs leave quite a bit to be desired and anything beyond the scope of typical bar food should be avoided. The service is quite bad. The servers do not seem to want to be there most of the time and come off as pretty aloof. They are under-trained, probably underpaid, and definitely inattentive. When they do come around they act awkwardly and often forget things you've ordered. I do not recommend this place.

I went a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. The drinks were strong and average priced and the age range was from 17-50. There was a decent mixture of men, women and races as well.
That being said, what makes a club is its music. The DJ played music meant to line dance too (which there was a lot of that going on). For every 4 country songs, there was 1-2 dance songs.

I am a club dancer, I like to shake my thang like no one is watching and do NOT want to follow a specific dance pattern in order to not get bumped into. I left after an hour. Just not my cup of tea.

Holy COW! I have only been to Saddle Ridge once and I will never go again. I had heard from many people young and old that it was a fun place to be, so a couple of my girlfriends and I went to check it out. It was still early yet and we were looking to check out their dining options (since we often eat at McFaddens next door) and upon walking in we were greeted with sour faces and angry staff. There was no bouncer at the door so we waited for a few minutes before walking in. There was NOBODY there yet, practically, so we didn't think it was a big deal. The bouncer ran up on us as we stood beside the bar and began interrogating us. He was very rude and accusatory of one of my friends who was 23 (but looks young). We tried to find a table but all of the tables had reserved cards on them so we asked the woman behind the bar where we could sit and she just glared at us. We asked her if they had a bar menu and she told me there wasn't any menus. I couldn't believe how rude she was being.

I don't know what her problem was but we left out of there after that. Obviously they didn't want our business, which is a shame. I make sure to tell everyone not to go there.

I absolutely LOVE this bar.  Definitely my fav. place to go around here so far.  Being a good looking married woman, I find it difficult to find a place to go where I can dance and enjoy myself without getting nasty guys grinding up on me all the time.  This bar is very very relaxed.  When you tell a guy "sorry, I'm married" he will apologize, and leave you with a compliment.    It's very laid back, but very fun at the same time.  Lots of people go in jeans and t-shirts, but last week I saw a girl in a silver lame mini dress, and she didn't look out of place.

The bar is pretty big.  Huge dancefloor on the weekends, with tons of seating for just hanging out.  There is a mechanical bull, and an entire upstairs with a bunch of pool tables, looking down over the main dance floor.  Cheyenne's Supper Club is attached through a small hallway, where they serve food til 1 am, I think.  In Cheyenne's, they have live bands a few nights a week, and karaoke on Thursdays!  In the whole place, I think there is about 5 actual bars, so you never have a wait for a drink.  The bartenders are all CRAZY nice, fast, and have good memories.  =)    There's a huge deck outside on the water so you can escape the noise and smoke.

They even teach line dancing...  =)  The instructor is amazingly fast and quite difficult to follow, though.

As it is a country bar, they play mostly country music... but it's all the good stuff that everyone knows.  After 11, they start to play lots more current hit songs.  They play a lot of good old rock.  It's wonderful.  As a matter of fact, I'm a little upset I didn't go there tonight.  My only reason for not going was because I had no one to go with but.....  I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have mattered, because everyone there is THAT nice.

    Go.  It's fab.

Been here a number of times while stationed in the Tidewater area. The main floor of Saddle Ridge is huge. It has numerous bars scattered all over the dance floor. The dance floor is huge. There is a number of stools and small tables to chill at.  The place has a mechanical bull, although I never tried it.

The only drawbacks are this place plays mostly country and cheesey rock. There is a lot of military there and a lot of the crowd is southern red neck/wannabe cowboys, so a city guy like myself never really fit in well.

But if your stationed around here or are visiting the area, it's a good place to go and get trashed, rock out to cheesey music and have some fun.
