Now named sakura restaurant, it's the new up and coming Japanese restaurant in town. The absolute BEST sushi in town with an casual laid back atmosphere. Service is friendly but uneducated about drinks. But no problems with service or our orders. she was confused about a tanquray and tonic and what sweet n low was. But that's ok. Overall a very good relaxed meal.
Review Source:It is with great sadness that I write this review... Â I have been going to this place since it was Herefords; it changed from Herefords to Top East, and is now Sakura Asian Bistro. Â I travel to Grand Junction frequently for work and was always happy that there was a place in town (and near my hotel) that had pretty great sushi. Â
Well, things have gone downhill immensely. Tonight I ordered take out, which they stated would take 20 minutes. Â I gave at least 20 minutes before attempting to pick up. Â When I arrived, the place was empty - only one couple was there that I could see. Â However, while one roll was up immediately after my arrival, I waited, and waited, and waited... Â Â for the second one - to the point that I asked the bartender if they are just going to leave the other roll out on the counter for this long while I wait... kinda gross. Â They kept walking by me saying "5 more minutes" and "one more minute" and eventually just asked me if I wanted to have the completed roll for free (Gee thanks - it sat on the counter next to me the whole time I waited) and just forget about the 2nd roll. Â
I had already paid so I had to wait for them to refund my card... Â finally after an hour from when I ordered, I left the place having to look for dinner once again. Â
I'm bummed, I look forward to having sushi on my trips and I won't be back to this place. Â I predict it won't be around much longer anyway. Â Or they may change names again and try that but I personally will not be back.
