I can't believe these reviews!  I live by this place and drive by it every afternoon.  No one is ever there in the daytime.  My daughter and I tried it about 4 months after it opened.  It was 12:30 pm and the place was empty except for one other table with 2 people at it.  It took the waiter 15 minutes to take our order and another 45 to bring us our food.  Our extremely BAD food.  I ordered the fish tacos which were cold by the time I got them and strangely jerky like in places which we later figured out they must have cooked the fish earlier and heated it in the microwave. Needless to say they were terrible! My daughter ordered a caesar salad and the "croutons" were soggy and bitter from garlic.  We had to retrieve our bill from the waiter.  He never came by to see if we needed anything.  I'm thinking all of these people posting about how great the food is and I just have to say it must be the cocktail crowd.  The place does have a lot of patrons at night, mostly to drink.  They must be buzzed when they eat there.   So food is bad, service is worse and prices are very high.  Maybe you just have to be drunk to appreciate this place.

This has to be one of the best food offerings in the Inland Empire. While Sal & Limon is classified as a Mexican Restaurant I find the quality to be of a much higher grade (Not your traditional greasy bean and cheese type place). Sal & Limon has a wide range of food offerings including steak, chicken, and fresh seafood dishes just to name a few. I've tried almost everything on the menu, all of which were good but my favorite is the Vegetable Enchilada (No I'm not a hippie... or a Vegetarian. In fact, I'm not much of a fan of veggies until I had the Vegetable Enchilada).  The Enchilada is filled with fresh vegetables like zucchini and corn, a modest amount of cheese, and topped with a delicious green sauce. It's dynamite!

All I have to say is 49ERS BAR AND BEER, what more could a 49ers fan in Southern California ask for! Gets a bit crowded for Niner games, but I love the atmosphere. Definitely coming back here!

I came here with my friends because they had been raving about the food/drinks.

We ordered the beer tower ($20 for 100 oz of beer) and that was cool.

I ate their seafood enchiladas and for the first time in my life I was happy. Just pure joy. Each bite was absolute ecstasy.

Oh, plus I tried a "michelada" which is like clamato and beer. Weird combination that actually has a delicious flavor.

Delicious food. Great drinks. Chill environment. If and when I'm in the area, I will come back. Next time I plan on getting plastered, so prepare for that Sal & Limon.

We love their food.  Always a treat.  The beer is at a Happy Hour price all the time. Amazing.

My husband and I were looking for a Mexican restaurant, and we drove by this place so we decided to try it.  It was so good! We thought it might be pricey when we walked in, but it was actually very reasonable for what we ordered. The service was also very good, almost as good as the food! I would definitely recommend this place!

This is my local to where I live. I had to learn to control my urge to eat hear every day. This is my local to where I live and I've limited myself to eating here to only once per week. Everything I've eating here was great! Sal N Limon salad, Ceviche, Fish tacos and Fish burrito's are among my favorites.  They also have a full bar with happy hour specials. The staff are great people and provide great service.  I also need to mention that they have comedians come in on Thursday evenings. Make sure you say hi to Fabio when you go.

We ended up here by accident when Sierra was closed due to a fire but we were pleasantly surprised.  The ceviche appetizer was delicious.  I tried the seafood enchiladas with green sauce and sour cream and they were sublime.  My husband (Argentine carnivore that he is) had the asade and said it was just ok.

The place is somewhat small (we were sat at a high top in bar) but modern and clean.  Service is sometimes erratic but usually OK.  The bar can get noisy and crowded if there is a game.  The prices are very reasonable so I would stick with the seafood enchiladas and check this restaurant out because it is a great spot in an area (north Fontana) where pickings are slim!

Chicken breast was dry, margaritas were small, atmosphere was like a nice Denny's and the prices are too high for this type of place. Sorry Sal..., & you too Limon.

The most important part about visiting a restaurant, is the food! Sal & Limon is a very nice place with great service but c'mon, the food is just... ok!

After driving the 210 several times and seeing the sign we finally had to stop and try. We were greeted and seated by the Host almost immediately he was very appreciated that we were there at his restaurant which made us feel very welcome and comfortable he took our drink order and brought us chips and salsa which the salsa was delicious. Our waiter arrived and finished taking our order he was very friendly and also very excited that we chose to come to this restaurant for dinner. All food was delicious I had to try the shrimp taco and I am glad I did cause it was amazing. We cannot wait to go back ... Highly recommended

    This place is AMAZING!

My mom just moved from OC to SB, and while I was looking forward to eating at all the hole in the wall taquerias and whatnot, I hadn't expected to find gourmet Mexican like Sal & Limon!

Everything was awesome. I had the Chile Colorado, it was amazing. The pinto beans were delicious and the tortillas were fresh. The salsas are all incredible, the green nicely tart and hot, the roasted tasting red salsa was awesome too. My wife had the Camerones... something or other, the were large and fresh, perfectly cooked. Her side of vegetables were fresh, not frozen.

Some of our party had margaritas, which had a generous pour.

I can't wait to go back and try the quail and the filet mignon. Oh, and the Kurobuta pork.

Did I mention how amazingly reasonable the prices were? Insane! This place would cost 2-3 times as much in the OC, seriously, it's every bit as good as Javier's or Gabbi's, and you can eat there without going into credit card debt.

Worst food and service ever. Not a true Mexican food. Service is really bad, they are polite but they don't know how to set tables not how to service the guess. Food takes too long to be served. By the way: chilaquilles is not warm salsa over chips. Please never tell the customers if they need spoons or knife. Tableware should be at the table at all time.

This has to be one of the best restaurants I have eaten at of late. The service is top notch. Andy and kevin at the bar are fantastic bartenders.  And the rest of the servers are friendly and professional. I do wish the bar was bigger however and they need more high-top tables, but I think that may be coming soon cause their business is expanding by leaps and bounds as word spreads. Their carneasada cooked medium rare with fresh chopped garlic and a little freshly chopped habanero (grilled with it and the fresh garlic) with cheese onions cabbage and cilantro is fantastic. When football season arrives better get there early cause it is packed. They do need to have happy hour seven days a week like all the other places as they do not have it on Fridays and Saturdays, which is a bit odd.  In closing I truly believe that you will enjoy your experience there - I would also encourage you to hold both family and company events there as their attention to service is top notch.

So, we are at the Taste of Rialto sitting next to the owner of Sal & Limon Alisia (sp), and she was so nice and we had a wonderful time. I've never been to their place but they give us a Spinach Enchilada to taste and it to die for! It was absolutely amazing! I am so looking forward to going and getting the full effect.

If you've never been I highly recommend this place.....scrumptous!
They also took an award and I was hoping to post it but not sure how.

This place is awesome, I was there yesterday for a networking mixer and the food was insanely good. The atmosphere is very welcoming and peaceful, the staff is amazing. Too bad I work out of Downey so the distance is a bit too far but whenever I am in the area since I do travel a lot, Sal & Limon will definitely be a pit stop for me.

Overall, its a great restaurant to enjoy good quality food!

We went here with some friends after church, never again will we step foot in this place. Food was overpriced, took way too long (restaurant was not busy) and the service sucked. I ordered tortillas with my food and I had to literally go up to the window and ask for them because our server was taking too long. I probably waited 15 minutes for two corn tortillas before I went up to the window. The only thing I like about this restaurant is the name...that's it.

i ate here once and the menu was extremely overpriced.  They do have a salsa bar but when i went to go over to it  I was told it was for the wait staff ???  They do have a smaller menu (like a lunch or take out)  The prices where good on that i ordered a vege burrito  but thats all i got 1 burrito on a big plate  NO SIDES!   I havent gone back and I really don't think i will unless there is nothing else around and I'm right in front of  the place.

Fantastic place, little pricey; don't think it's a cheap hole in the wall; you can easily spend $40 w/o drink's and w/  drinks $60, for party of 2. Good amount of good, with a great taste; also friendly staff. Not your typical cheese an oily mexican food, fresh an good. If this place can improve and continuing offer fresh an new dishes, it'll always be a 5-star place.

When to this place a few days ago to meet a friend. This place is really nice; its clean, there is someone there to great you at t the door. They have this real nice covered outdoor dining area, that where we sat. I had 2 margaritas (delicious) and the garlic shrimp. The shrimp was very interested, different but it was also good. I little pricey. I would definitely come back to this place with friends.

This has to be one of my more favorite restaurants in the area and maybe even in a 50 mile radius. We are always quickly seated no matter how busy they are. Our servers have been very attentive to the little things that make the experience a great one. Having been here multiple times, I have never had a plate come out from the kitchen and be less than hot.

When first going to a place, I want to know what there signature dish is or at least one that the staff will recommend. When I ask the server for suggestions, they are always willing to go over the menu and point out their personal favorites. Tonight my server remembered that I always get the Spanish rice while taking my order. We had brought someone with us that had not been there. and she stated she actually preferred the the white rice. Reading the reviews on this site, the white rice must be pretty good and I will try it out!

The place is clean and very well maintained.

I have seen reviews that the gourmet menu is a bit pricey, but the food was not ordered. How does one know if the price does not fit the quality of the product without trying the product out itself? The prices for the gourmet plates are around $20 each which is in line with a Outback style restaurant.  I can not comment on the quality of the gourmet menu just yet, but I can tell you that the quality of the regular menu is excellent.

I had the the Ensenada style fish taco and a steak enchilada with black beans and Spanish rice.

Not impressed at all. We should have known when the only people in the place were just sitting at the bar but we thought we would give it a try. Received free chips and salsa on the table upon arrival my husband requested a hotter salsa and was informed it would cost fifty cents (no problem) the girl left and never returned. I ordered nachos and my husband ordered chili Colorado. 45 minutes later our food came to the table the nachos were soggy like they had been over heated in the microwave, the chili Colorado was actually 2 pork chops that were so tough with a strange salsa/napales sauce dumped on top they were in edible. By that time we were so fed up we just wanted out of there. Another 15 minutes trying to flag down our waitress to get the check when it finally arrived she charged us or the salsa that never arrived. When we told her about it she didn't even offer to remove it from the check. So stay away from this place unless you want bad food and even worse customer service!

I came to Sal & Limon with a friend and sister. I ordered the shrimp platter, my friend ordered tacos, and my sister got an ensenada taco. They serve salsa and chips while you decide what to order. To drink I ordered an horchata. I didn't really liked it because it tasted more like milk than anything. The shrimp platter comes with a choice of pinto beans or black beans also white rice or Mexican rice. I got white rice and black beans. I got full with what I ordered but the food was really tasty! The place is very nice and clean it was also really busy (I went around dinner time). The waitress was nice and kept on coming around if we needed anything.

It took them a while to finally open the restaurant but the wait was definitely worth it.  Everyone I have taken has loved it.

There are two menus there.  The lunch and dinner although both are available at any time.  The Sal y Limon bowl is excellent.  I like it with Asada which is really flavorful.  Their chips are fresh and their salsas pack a lot taste. From the dinner menu the Mole is my favorite although the Pollo Bufadora is some of the best chicken I have had.  It is all so fresh, never any wilted lettuce and no greasy food.

Getting the bill can take a while sometimes but the bus boys are pretty attentive and will offer to get the waiters when they notice someone has been sitting.

If you want to-go food I recommend calling ahead.

We stopped by on the way from LA up to the mountains, and what a nice surprise. Small family run business that has tasty food. Very clean restaurant and nice plate presentation. We'll be back. Highly recommended!

Overall this place has good eats.  It's very clean and the wait staff is attentive.  The smaller menu is reasonably priced and food is cooked to order and is fresh.

The gourmet or dinner menu is actually a bit on the pricey side and honestly can't imagine ordering from it.  With those prices, I would prefer to go to a nicer location (meaning...a place not in a strip mall)

The white rice is fantastic, I would recommend that over the mexican rice and the ceviche is also very very good.  Portions are good size.

I would recommend this place to for lunch, Sunday breakfast or for a casual dinner.

    Came to eat here today....
We were greeted and seated quickly.
Looked over our menus and decided to get drinks
We asked how many ounces the glass of beer was
We were told 16, cool deal, but when we got it..the glass was 16oz, the beer...12 haha
I also ordered the mojito...I took a sip of it & OMFG it was extremely salty, I was a bit confused because I've drank mojitos before, but just to make sure I quickly googled a mojito recipe & sure enough salt was not part of the drink.
So I waited patiently for our waitress to come check up on us & I told her that it was extremely salty & I was pretty sure it was supposed to have sugar instead. She took my drink & had it re-made, got it back & I swear they forgot to put alcohol in it. What I got back was a virgin mojito... :(  I was just so over it that I drank it without the alcohol & didn't bother to tell them because at that point my bf had finished his beer & we both had finished our food btw we ordered the bowls that came with rice, a little salad & guacamole & choice of meat, Which was good :]

not sure if i'll be returning to be honest..

the ambiance was really nice, although i didn't get why they didn't have any Mexican art work up. ha ha.

I pass by Sal & Limon when I go to Fitness 19 and been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened roughly a month ago. So today tried it for the first time and will definitely be returning! A combination of great food, service, and ambiance! Definitely one of the better places to dine in Rialto and would highly recommend giving it a try!!!

Good prices for the basics (seafood gets significantly more expensive), good service, and a nice atmosphere for a restaurant in a strip mall. I would definitely recommend the calamari.

One of my best mates works in Rialto. We try to grab lunch together a couple of times a month. We usually end up eating at one of the same four places. Let's just say that until recently, Rialto has had a SERIOUS deficiency in the "good restaurants" category. Thanks to Sal & Limon, things are looking up.

I was surprised at how nicely appointed the restaurant is. The place was relatively empty at lunch time (though our server told us the evening can get really busy). That was fine with me-- quicker, more attentive service. The menu is made up of more traditional Baja Mexican fare. A lot of fish options. Perfect! The chips were served with three salsas and sautéed onions. You're offered quite of few choices with each menu item. I had a fish platter with the option of regular, blackened, or Ensenada style. I chose the latter (beer battered, I believe, and served with cabbage and a white sauce). I was given the option of seasoned white or Mexican rice and pinto or black beans. My meal was served with warm corn tortillas. Everything was seasoned well, flavorful and fresh.

All in all, it seemed like a lot of thought and pride has gone into each meal. I did not feel (as I do with most Mexican food restaurants in the area) that my food was assembled out of perpetually warmed trays, plopped onto my plate, and thoughtlessly slid in front of me.

When my family and I want "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Mexican food, we make the drive to San Diego. Even so, if I could give Sal & Limon 4 1/2 stars, I would. I am definitely a fan, and I believe it is "as good as it gets" in Rialto.
