Thoroughly mediocre in every way. Right down to the plastic utensils.
I remember Sammy's being a good family dinner spot when I was a kid, but in retrospect I probably thought it was good because I WAS a kid then.
This is basically the same pizza as you had for school lunch. Â Ketchup sauce, soft doughy crust and greasy cheese.
Probably a good place to take a large group of kids after a hockey game, or if you want to jam your face full at the pizza buffet.
The only positive I can really come up with is it's cheap.
Pizza is ALWAYS great here. Sammys pizza is always MESSY but thats what makes it kinda special and good. The House pizza is always great. Im a big fan of buffalo chicken pizza and a lot of places mess it up. This is however one of my favorites. You do the buffalo chicken just right. Love it!!
If you come here on a busy night, dont expect to have a quiet date or anything. Theres usually a lot of families and kids running around. But really I think ppl come for the pizza here, not the atmosphere.
The pizza buffett is good too. Simple but fills you up. 99 margaritas are great too! How can you go wrong with that?
Face it, theres not that many long-time, family owned staples in this town anymore. You gotta cherish the few we have left and this is one of them!
The bar was exceptional however. If you want a relaxing place to hang out with a couple people for a few minutes this is it. It's truly a gem of Saint Cloud. When you walk in, you almost miss the bar entirely because the beauty that is the full self-service buffet stares your straight in the face. However, if you miss the bar, you miss the best part of Sammy's in Saint Cloud.
Review Source:This is my favorite pizza in St. Cloud, nice thin crust that's the perfect combination of crispy / chewy and somehow they char the edges just to the point of perfection.  It's a little greasy but I happen to like that, and they cut the pieces in squares too. They have a decent selection of  your basic appetizers as well, and the menu also includes a variety of burgers, sandwiches and pastas which I hear are all good too (my son loves their spaghetti and garlic bread), but I come here for the pizza! Service is always most very excellent, and I feel sorry for the Domino's that's right next to it.
