    Salsa:  good... Has a kick.
Margarita: ehhh... Have had better. Tastes like a melted lime popsicle.
Food: arrived way quicker than expected for the crowd. I ordered the burrito ruleta... Chicken and chorizo burrito stuffed with rice and beans smothered in cheese... Pretty delicious. My wife had lunch special #5 with which she was very satisfied.
Service:  definitely GOOD. Average... Staff was friendly... amigo!
    Price: fair.

I decided to try this restaurant because of the positive reviews. It was the only place in Pembroke with a rating of more than 4 stars. I grew up on Mexican food. Detroit has a large Mexican population. You can find some great, reasonably priced Mexican food there. As such, I was hoping to find a hidden gem. With that said, none of what I just wrote matters because I couldn't even get past the poor service. The server acted as if it was an inconvenience to answer questions about the menu. I told her that I was a vegetarian. What do you know? There's a piece of chicken in my enchilada. I showed the manager. His response was, "Only a little,  I think. Be careful." WTHeck!

We were a bit apprehensive about this place at first.  Being from southern California, home to some of the best Mexican food in the country, and frankly North Carolina didn't really strike us as a place that would have excellent Mexican food.  We were wrong.  San Jose was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had.  I was shocked and blown away. Amazing is the only word that comes to mind.

This is the only game in town for "Mexican" food.  Like nearly all other Mexican restaurants in the U.S., this is highly Americanized.  The salsa is decent, as is the food.  The prices are reasonable.  This has one of the few full bars in town, so bonus there!  The service is usually very good.

This location by far has the best food out of all the San Joses in town. It's about 10 miles off of I-95 so you'll have a bit of a distance to drive. Great Mexican food though! This is a family business and there are several in this county and a few in neighboring counties!

I love the chicken burrito supremes or the chile poblano with a side of corn tortillas with rice and beans. Always great customer service and atmosphere.
