This place is absolutely beautiful!
The acoustics were great as were the bathrooms. The only downside is that they frown upon dancing in the aisles; that's okay though because we were surrounded by some pretty cool people who were also out of their seats shaking it in the rows.
I will definitely make the drive up here again to catch a show, and I will get tickets in the pit so I can dance my little heart out.
Being only 90 miles away from LA, this has to be one of my favorite venues. Â It's intimate and the sound acoustics are great!! Â I've been to almost all the venues in LA and this is by far my preferred place to go. Â
The bowl is tucked away close to a residential neighborhood and across the street from the SB high school. Â The parking could be an issue, as it's $10 to park at the high school or you can just try your luck at parking in the residential neighborhood. Â If you don't mind walking about 5 to 10 mins to the bowl, you should be good to go.
To reach the stage, your going to have to trek up this hill for a few mins then you'll get to the area where they serve the food and booze. Â Right above the food area is the stage. Â The pit is pretty big and clean. Â I didn't get a chance to see how the seats feel, since I've always picked the GA floor when I come here.
The venue itself is pretty well organized and the staff there is pretty friendly. Â The restroom is very clean and big.
We found ourselves in Santa Barbara last Friday to see Robert Plant in concert. As many of you know, he was the singer of the world-renowned band, Led Zeppelin. He may be a geezer now, but he & the band rocked out and played quite a few Zeppelin tunes to the thrill of the crowd.
There's some real bonuses to this venue, such as the hillside location, good acoustics, small size of about 4500 seats, and the availability of alcoholic beverages & spotless restrooms located mere yards away so that you don't miss a single beat while you're taking care of those necessities.
As others' have mentioned, parking can be an issue. We arrived somewhat early, parked the car near the entrance of the venue, and then walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. It couldn't have worked out more perfectly.
