So we're out at this club dancing and I go up to the DJ to get a shout out for our group. The guy totally tousled my hair and makes me feel like a douche then another guy comes up and is like "hey if he's not accepting requests just move on." I felt like it was inappropriate that he was touching me, so I talked to a manager. The guy was nice and gave me a free drink but it was a buzzkill. The music was good enough but the crowd was sparse. Pretty disappointing overall.
Review Source:Line:
Never had to wait. Depends on time you arrive and whose performing. Also if you do VIP or know security.
Cover:
Sometimes
Dress:
They say they have a dress code but selectively enforce it. Nor do they have a standard for what casual is. It seems like if they aren't at maximum capacity they'll accept you in whatever. From observation, I think t-shirt with legs covered on guys and girls can wear thong/pasties with sheer overlay.
Security:
From what I have seen, security is pretty on top of stuff. If a fist is thrown the party is instantly thrown out.
BUT, what I find a concerning is when a passive person is forcibly pushed, be it in open space or against a wall and injured, nothing is done to the aggressor. Security stays completely out of it.
I feel very unsafe in a place that allows hostile, aggressive, as well as dangerous behavior to be accepted. It's this behavior that leads to fist fights, yet they allow these people to stay.
If you know security or a bartender, you are taken care of and get free very stiff drinks (at least from the group I observed for 20 minutes). I had to wait for their social hour to end before any drink order or bill could be procured.
Waitstaff:
The waitresses when I went were barely dressed and acceptable to look at. I did hear one girl complaining about a customers tip still, and she had clothing tag sticking out of the back of the top. Small detail that should just be cut off, its like a price tag just hanging there. That girl also had love handles when compared to the other girls.
Bottle service/ booth:
If you can afford it, do it. You have you own space to avoid falling drunks and unwanted attention. You don't have to fight for space.
Dance floor:
Small.
I just performed a hypnosis show at the Savoy. What an outstanding club. Three levels Set in a historic building. Each level has is own bar, So it was very quick to get a drink, and high-class seating in different areas for people to chill. The stage that I performed my hypnosis show on was very nicely built for performers. The DJ came out to play after. And I must say this sound in the building sounded great the matter where you walked. I've been to a lot of clothes this was very good. The staff was fun and I even had a chance to meet the owner very cool guy. I'll definitely be stopping in next time I go through Santa Barbara.
