Craft brews were decent.  Pulled Pork Nachos were pretty good too.  Crowded spot, we had to go to the lounge/game room in back.  Horrible music in the back, nice pool tables though.

So over the weekend of June 29 and 30th, I went here with my girlfriend for dinner and a couple beers for me. From across the street from our hotel, we noticed there are two locations of this place. We ended up on the more resturant side.

From what we were told from our waiter, the other side is more of bar with pool tables and a stage for any band to play. They serve the same food there as well. The side we are on facing state street is more of family side she told us.

I like the side we were on. It had lots of tv's there. It seemed more quieter there so you can have a conversation while enjoying your drink and food. Our server was tentative to us. We both ordered two different big dinner salads.

I had the Cobb salad and my girlfriend had the spinach salad. Both were not bad. We both shared garlic fries. It was cooked well but a little more garlic would of made it better. But overall good.

On our next visit to Santa Barbara, would we go here again. Yes it's possible. But there are so many other places we like to try and was not able to. Overall, I like this place and I'm curious how the other food on the menu taste like.

Ordered the buffalo wings and couldn't believe my eyes, they were the tiniest wings I've ever seen. Like Cornish hen size wings. But even the cook and waitress knew it wasn't right, so they both made it right without me having to say a word. Needless to say The service was excellent. The beer is better than average. The navigator dopplebock is on tap now. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Stopped by after a concert at the Bowl... Only had the Pulled Pork Sliders and a salad, but they were both really tasty.  The balsamic vinaigrette was really good.  Would come back to try their beer... always intrigued by a Belgian IPA... and the burgers looked amazing.

This is a good, but kind of average place to visit if you're in SB. The happy hour here isn't the best, only a few of the beers are part of the HH special (which isn't a huge deal anyway, still $4 I believe) but the food was pretty good. Our server was not at all friendly, but she got our orders right and there were no issues. Maybe it's more happening at night, but it was pretty dead on a weekday afternoon.

Came here late night after a wedding in SB, trying to get some food in before our drive home.
Pulled Pork Nachos: Amazing! The pork was so tender, there was plenty of avocado and red onion, I practically scraped the plate clean.

Garlic Parmesan Fries: Really good. Could always use more garlic, but I"m basically a vampire's worst nightmare with my love of garlic, so that's probably just me.

I also had the Rincon Red Ale, it was good, but I was basically starving so it didn't get a chance to grab my attention. Our server was super nice, and the food came out quick and hot, which is great considering it was after 11:00 which is when quality can start to dwindle at most places. Will definitely be back!

So let me start off, I was so confused with this place because there are two locations!!!

I knew this place was a bar and restaurant, but didn't know it was in different places.  I ended up going to the bar location.  It was very open...plenty of high tables and pool tables in the back.  Food is your typical bar food, but the drinks here are a must!

As I walk out of the place and turn the corner I see the same name, but it's a restaurant with actual booths to sit in and more decor.

We recently had Santa Barbara Brewing Company Cater a couple of parties.  The first we ordered a pony keg of their ipa which was amazing.  At our next event we purchased food which included incredible tacos, beans, rice, salsa, and tortillas at a great price.  In both occasions picking up the items was easy and the staff was extremely helpful.  The set up was simple and the brewing company really went above and beyond with our catering.  Both parties were a complete success thanks to Santa Barbara Brewing Company.

If you want to watch a game and have a beer and eat pretty good food than this is the place for you. Nothing really blows me away when it comes to service, food or prices but everybody is nice and a good atmosphere. Have returned several times.

Just had apps and a few of the doppelbocks. I will say though, the beer was really great and I have no idea about the price because I was treated. The waitress was really nice and on top of things, it's a good spot for sure.

Great place. Not what I expected when walking in. It is this huge open room with tables everywhere. Can't complain since it was easy to find a nice table. They also have pool tables in the back which is nice. TVs all around the area to watch different games that are playing. I do feel like they should have a big TV screen as the smaller TVs aren't as nice to watch from far. Great selection of beers. I had the double IPA which I enjoyed a lot. I did not try the food but it looked good. I would come back here again to try some of their other brews.

I was visiting my younger sister who attends UCSB and the drive up from L.A. (in Memorial Day weekend traffic) sure built up our appetite! We browsed around State Street before stumbling upon this place. At first glance, I was hesitant but everyone else (my husband and sisters) were intrigued and out numbered me. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The place was pretty busy, which is a good sign. Our waitress, Lindsay? Leslie? Sorry, I know it started with an "L" took good care of us, making sure my husband's coke was always full. The food was surprisingly good for your ordinary ol' sports bar type place. I had the fish & chips (Parmesan garlic fries), my husband ordered the SB burger, and my sisters shared the white pizza. We also had the pulled pork nachos and the potato skins to start. YUM!!! The food came out hot and fast. We all enjoyed our meal! Give it a try the next time you're visiting SB!!

Food is really good! Prices are decent I wish happy hour was better but ill still come back! The 2 female bartenders are awesome! But I only sit in the back (the lounge). Nice place to play some pool and have some beer! They brew thier own stuff and they know what they are doing!! :)

This place does not only have good brews, their food is top notch. I don't know why someone said foodies wouldn't want to come here. First, their shredded pork shoulder nachos with chipotle sauce were super good! The pork shoulder is slow roasted and they don't give you a ridiculous amount of nachos. It was well portioned and there was enough goods for all the chips. We added black beans and I was so excited they were homemade beans and not canned. No restaurant should use canned beans! The buffalo wings we're SO yummy! Not over sauced, not under sauced, the sauce had a good coating and wasn't too spicy. Probably some of the best wings I've had in a very long time. We didn't have the fish and chips but it looked and smelled amazing. They house make their tarter sauce and all 5 of their salad dressings. Top notch bar food.

The food and beer was absolutely incredible... The wait staff was attentive and on top of it in regards to services. The place was clean, including the bathroom. I highly recommend the baked macaroni and cheese as a starter... it was out of this world.

Good microbrews. Great wings. But today, we were ignored for too long. When the server finally arrived, she was sweet. The wings were great. Our two salads however were not. The lettuce was old, rubbery and had a funny smell and taste. We sent them back and they removed them from the check. She forgot we could hear her however as she told her manager of our issue and acted as if we were idiots. Then she returned as her sweet self again. Later my son and I both felt nauseous from lunch. I'm going to leave it there but I won't be back. As a 25 year local, I'll make sure to share this with my entourage. Ironically, I'm usually the one that wants to go here as most of my friends think the food is "ok" but not worth wasting a meal on.

Management: fix this place. The potential is there.

Went here for lunch today. High expectations, being that we love beer and was the main reason we dined at this restaurant with its own brewery. With that said the beer did fall short for us. We had the blonde and red ale, wouldn't go back for their beer but if you are looking for an amazing burger look no further! We had the bbq western burger with sweet potatoes and the Santa Barbara bacon burger with average plain fries. Was busy within, service was decent. Reccomend definitely if your in the mood for a burger.

We ordered steak bites which were very tasty. Burger with parmesan fries were good. I had the hanger steak which was the best steak I've ever had. Sadly the sides that came with it weren't great. The "sweet mashed potatoes" are NOT swest potatoes that have been mashed. They are mashed potatoes with sugar added. Really yucky. I didn't touch that after the first bite. I substituted garlic green for asparagus. The beans were just ok. I'm giving it four stars because I would definitely come back. Next time I would order the steak with parmesan fries.

I am an IPA freak and I think the vast majority of other beer is a waste of time.  If you don't agree with that statement don't waste your time reading my review any further.

SB Brew Co. used to have impressive beers.  I don't know what changed but for the last several years they were very disappointing.  I finally came back to give it another try and their Double IPA was pretty good.  Not amazing, but good.  At this point I would still recommend Union Ale House above SB Brew Co but I am very hopeful that they continue down the direction they are on and get back to what they were and could be.

Food, service ambiance has always good.  If you kept reading even though you like average boring beers you will like this place and you should stop by.

This is strictly a beer and bartender review.

The beer was pretty good. I liked that they had flights.  But I was a little put off by the fact that the bartender was so brusque. When I asked for a flight, he clearly started getting things together to pour what he wanted. As the flight is 5 beers and they had 9, I wanted to pick. I mentioned this and he responded that it's usually "brewer's choice." I like picking my own beer and he had not asked what kind of beer I like (given how he acted other times, I assume he thought that I wouldn't know because I'm a woman), so I didn't want this to happen. I tried to joke about it because I felt awkward, but he remained a bit petulant as he poured my requested beers.

He then rather obviously tried to end any conversation between us and chatted with the men at the bar. Now, usually I wouldn't really want to talk to strangers, but I am visiting the city alone and wanted to try the beer here, so I came with work I didn't want to do and ended up watching hockey and feeling shunned as the bartender talked hockey with the menfolk (who, btw, didn't know shit all about hockey) and left me to drink my girly beers by myself.  I had had a vague intention to chat the locals up to find out about possibly living here, and that really didn't pan out with Grumpy McGrumpypants behind the bar. I also don't usually assume that people treat me a certain way because I am a woman, but I felt that that was definitely the case here, and I felt that it was the sign of poor customer service.

So... Well, I wouldn't go alone and I wouldn't sit at the bar.  He asked all the token questions (how is it? Want a refill?), but it was by rote at best. Boo. The beer gets four stars, the bartender one. I left it at three because I assume (hope?) the other staff aren't so off-putting.

This is really a place for beer drinkers not for foodies, but eventually you gotta eat. The food is okay, but not great; the service is better. The restaurant is nicely located in downtown. I also love a good deal, so when we end up here we make sure we have a discount either with the axxess card or other.

There is a trickster ghost here... I am not kidding!...nothing to be scared of.

Had the western burger with Parmesan fries which was really good! If I go back to this place, I'd definitely order the same thing again.

The service was less than OK.  The waitress didn't come much to our table, didn't get a few things right, but overall, the place was good.

The food was good, the wait time was reasonable and the company was great!

Went here after hubby ran the Santa Barbara Marathon... and they were SLAMMED. But, hubby is a beer man, and he had just run 26.2 miles, so he got to choose the dinner place. Was a little worried, as there were SO many people jammed in there, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes (we were told 45). Waitress apologized for the wait and explained the kitchen was slow, but doing their best. We ordered the chicken wings and steak bites for an appy, we were starving! Both were amazing. Almost reordered the steak bites for my meal they were so good! Hubby ordered a burger, kid the chicken strips, and I ordered fish and chips. Chicken strips were okay, burger was great, and the fish and chips were AWESOME... I expected 2 or 3 pieces, I had FIVE big pieces on my plate and they were great. And, only $18. All of us expected a hefty bill, as we in downtown Santa Barbara, but we were surprised at the small total on the bill.
Hubby REALLY enjoyed the beer. As a matter of fact, we will be going back next week!

All I wanted for Christmas was a special holiday dinner and after driving for hours not finding one in Ojai, decided to drive on to Santa Barbara. After driving up and down State Street to see what was open, discovered a small section of the strip where a variety of restaurants were open and parked.

Not being in the mood for Mexican or Italian, almost went to Sharkeez out of nostalgia, but the blaring sports on so many TV's prompted me to keep looking. I had almost given up when I saw a handwritten sign for a special holiday prime rib dinner on the door of this place.

I was informed when I sat down at 4pm (having not eaten pretty much all day), they weren't serving the dinner till 5pm and decided I couldn't wait that long. Wished I'd read the review about spoiled mixers before ordering a peach sparkler cocktail because it did taste a little spiked, but it set the mood just fine.

I ended up ordering salmon, green beans and garlic mashed potatoes with little expectation it would be any good since this was a pub, but it was delicious. I've eaten a lot of salmon having lived in Seattle and this was cooked perfectly. Crisp and flavorful on the outside, yet tender and perfect on the inside. Piled high upon a stack of home-made mashed potatoes and al dente green beans, I was very satisfied and happy.

When other places were charging $68 for brunch or dinner, this was very reasonably priced at $18. I would come back here again even when my normal favorite is the Natural Cafe.

They were playing A Christmas Story and sports, but with the sound off and that was wonderful too.:) I found the service respectable, and thought the hostess did a great job of managing the onslaught of non-stop guests who were constantly arriving the entire time I was there. Very enjoyable experience.

I didn't order any food so I can only rate the beer selection which was really delicious!
I tried the sampler since I couldn't figure out what beer to order. All the beers in the sampler were really good but my favorite was the seasonal beer and their Octoberfest beer. The atmosphere was lively- great place to watch a sports game (although I'm not a fan of sports).

As we were walking down State and looking for someplace nice to have a beer or two we came across this place. Looked very clean and inviting. It was 8:00 on a
Tuesday night and this place was HOPPIN!!!

After looking over the beer menu, we decided to go with 2 beer flights. Each flight is 5 beers, each in a glass equivalent to 1 1/2 to 2 shots. Our bartender decided to make each glass of beer different instead of two identical flights. I thought this was very clever and thoughtful of him.
After he poured each glass and put it all together, he then told my husband what each one was....that was a problem. There is no way anyone could remember what all  ten were. It would have been nice if there was some way to label these. Some of the beers did not need explanation of what they were (darks, fruity wheats) but the others did.

    Would I come back? Probably.

A friend recommended this place to me so we took a group of friends over there.

The place is very roomy and it was clean. The waitresses were pretty much all females wearing black skimpy dresses; our waitress pretty much just gave us a seat in the back where the bar is and didn't bother to give us our menus. So we waited for a bit and got ignored by a lot of the waitresses that were seating other customers. We had to pretty much had to wave our hands and call them out.

I tasted their Pesto Heart Pizza and their Asian Wings appetizer. The pesto pizza was absolute delish and their wings were actually pretty good.

A friend bought  me a Tequila Sunrise from the bar which I ended up getting sick from - turns out the orange juice the bartender used went bad awhile ago.

This place has potential but their issues like customer service and not-so-fresh mixers pretty much ruined it for me.

The beer sampler is definitely the way to go here.  it has 5 beers to taste from, and comes in what appears to be a homemade carrier, made out of wood from a barrel.  Cool and unique yes, but the shot glasses are a tight fit in the holes and you may end up splashing yourself trying to get it outta there.

The service was pretty nonexistent when I was there, my group was largely ignored and had to wave our hands like crazy when we wanted something.  But I was actually ok with that because of the group I was with.  I could see it being annoying another time though.

Didn't try any of the food, but the beer was tasty (my favorite was the Red).  Good times, Santa Barbara!

Visited on 7/30/12.  They have 10 beers on tap.

The menu offers a sampler platter of "5 of our own brews". I told the server I wanted 2 samplers, one for me and one for my girlfriend, of all the beers, since, well, this is a brew pub and I want to try all their beers.  Noting they have 10 beers on tap and telling the waitress I want 2 samples with all their beers I thought this was straightforward (and what we do whenever we visit a new brew pub)!

The server brings us two samples of the same five beers and tells us that they only do samples of 5 specific beers and that we can't get a sampler with their other beers. THIS IS A BREW PUB, LET PEOPLE SAMPLE YOUR BEERS!!!  It's crazy. Beer was descent. Also, seared ahi was tasty.

Just ridiculous. I've never had this happen at a brew house or tap room.

Atmosphere is loud, energetic and brighter than usual, as sports bars go. Dining is decent, the beer is pretty damn good (order the sampler of five tasty selections) and SBBC has AWESOME little black bean tacos and the typical garden burger for us non-animal-consuming people. Don't expect more flavor or fancy than any other pub, though; I'm just saying, the black bean tacos are a hit with vegetarians out here. I have found more than once the hostess is either overwhelmed or under-rested and a bit dull, if not even cranky. As the first face a customer will see (setting their entire impression for the experience) the host/hostess ought to be a little ball of friendly energy eager to please. FAIL, SBBC. Don't leave the weight-bearing of the friendliness factor on the shoulders of the busy waitress/waiter.

They only have Direct TV at SBBC and what do ya know.....Dodgers are local TV. No Dodger games here. Fail, SBBC, fail. That's why you lose two stars.

+Grab a few of your friends and sit at a table.
+Show up with minimal expectations. Seriously, it's a brewing company (a step up from a pub). Relax.
+Get a beer sampler. Share it (or don't). Pick your favorite(s), order a pint of it.
+Order a burger, some parmesan fries, and some fish & chips. Share (or don't).
+Laugh, chat, chill, drink, eat, tip your waiter/waitress.

    Now quit yer whinin'.

I went here recently and noticed it's pretty much busy all day on the weekends... also a good indicator the place is worth visiting, right?

Came here around 9pm on a Friday and got a table for 2 - overall, place was pretty full. I ordered a snakebite and a white out pizza to share. Drinks came out pretty fast - the pizza bit slower.

I wasn't too impressed with the snakebite. Unlike other places I've been to, it seems like they mixed the pear cider with the Guiness, instead of pouring it the other way. Affects the taste a bit, but it's okay.

The pizza was really good - probably because of the truffle oil on the crust. I'm not a big crust girl, but I could have eaten that on my own! :)

Overall, place has a good atmosphere and the food was decent. I'd come back to the area.

BrewCo has been a Santa Barbara establishment for as long as I can remember. I had dinner there about a week ago with some friends after moving out of Santa Babara about 2 years ago. It was just as I remembered. Good, not great.

Santa Barbara Blonde is the best beer on tap, my burger was great, the service can be very hit or miss but our waitress was super sweet. No complaints.
