Review Source:Well the building has finally been rented after almost 2 years of vacancy. Â I don't know for sure but I've been told that it will now be some sort of travel place. Â Things like excursions to Las Vegas, Laughlin etc. Â Might be opening in October or first part of November. Â They installed a front window so I went and peeked in. Â No longer could ever tell that it was once a great neighborhood bar. Â Of course the bar and the booths were removed. Â The painted walls and carpet on the floor...it even looks bigger than I remember and I drank there for 30 years so spent a lot of time in that building. Â I sitll miss the place!
Well apparently the guy who was going to travel etc had a heart attack and that was the end of that. Â I don't know what it is exactly now. Â The barber next door 'Sal' said he has heard church music coming out of there and looks like they may be having some sort of Sunday service because of the cars I've seen. Â Interesting if it has gone from a Cocktail Lounge for over 50 years to a place of worship.
This bar earns an extra star for the meer fact that you can still smoke inside. Other than that, this place is strictly for those whose lives are on the brink of divorce, bankruptcy, or suicide. And I don't mean that in a good way. ?? Anyhow, I like my bars to be dark. Dark enough so that I don't have to stare into other people's faces and feel awkward. Especially those chola girls who think I'm going to try to pick up on "their man" if I just happen to look in their direction. And this place isn't dark enough to make me feel safe.
