I normally do not leave negative reviews, but three days later I am still immensely dissapointed and need to make sure others are warned in advance. Let me preface this review with saying that I am a local, not a tourist, and have dined at the Saw Mill on numerous occassions. 7 of us came to the saw mill on a Friday night for my girlfriends birthday. Not too crowded, food was good and the waitress was super friendly. The bill came and we passed it around and everyone put in their cash. I used a credit card to pay and was surprised at the lack of cash I had recieved. The bill came back WITH OUT an itemized receipt and I left my usual 20% tip and gave it back to the waitress. After trying to figure out how a few sandwhiches, salads and drinks came to the price that we payed, I finally went back to the waitress and asked for an itemized receipt. The receipt was no where to be found and she was "unable" the print out another copy(the managers reason was that she had already signed out). I gave the menu a detailed once over and did not see anywhere that gratuity would be automatically added, nor did the waitress mention this important fact. Not to mention, I am asking her why the bill came out to what it did and for a copy of my receipt and she still does not mention that gratuity was "padded" to the bill. I managed a restaurant throughout college and clearly the money is not the issue here, but it's the principal of the matter(hence the reason for this review). I will never return to this establishment and I just want to make sure others are forwarned of their business practices.
