Scotty's Landing

My husband and I come here to Scottys for a fun, relaxing and a peaceful evening by the river. We are not retuning on a Friday night again. 10/11/13
I am disappointed at the awful service tonight. We walked in, male bar tender yells out, "hey, we have waitresses out side, pick a seat and a waitress will find you."When I asked to get a   drink, the rude young man stated,"if you see a waitress flag her down, she can get your drink order. ." To me it's weird, the bar had no customers, and he insisted on sending us out side.

I pray the owner reads this.
we sat on the top deck, our waitress was helping the people next to where we sat, she quickly said," can I get you something? My headband said," can we get a couple glasses of water?" she  answers," i don't know can you?" not a people person, no customer service, she acted like, if we didn't come in she could have gone home.... She, I will not use her name but  to the owner of Scottys, her name begins with an A.,.she was rude to us, spoke about how she was  supposed to be the day time waitress, then went further into a story about another waitress and basically ruined our date night.
we had to ask for our check, because once she delivered our food, she was gone. Not one time did we see her or have her visit until It was time for her to go home, she said," I'm going to be going home, here is your bill, can you pay it now so i can collect my tips. we did pay her right then with cash. About 20 minutes later, as she walked by us I asked if she had our change. I saw her fumbling trying to figure out the  amount of change to get out of her pocket, she had the nerve to say, "I thought that was my tip.." Then further explained  that when she gets a small or no tip, she will forever remember them and they won't get service from her again...
The worst part, she was complaining to us about our favorite, Saturday night waitress. This girl has been here all season, she has an amazing personality, she IS customer service.Mr. Scottys, you will succeed if your employees give everyone customer service,  and treat people with some respect.
This is one of my most favorite local hangouts. I am sick over this waitress and male bartender.Their lack of customer service  is  or will ruin your establishment. You have a great, historical bar/restaurant, and hands down, one of the  "Best place for homemade, unique, one of a kind meal" in chico. Please take my advise get these two  people out of here...
I have to give one more comment your prime rib, its amazing.,Cooked perfect and all of the sides were great. Next time I come in I will request my favorite waitress. I want to say her name just so she can be recognized for her great work. Thank you Krista for your customer service. You are an amazing addition to Scottys.

I am itching just thinking about this place!  Our visit there left us literally itching and scratching for a week!  They were not from mosquito bites, but possibly fleas?  How does one get a series of bites under their skort sitting outside?  It was like these bugs were on the chair and crawled up under my skirt!  My Beau ended up with bites on his butt too.  The combined estimate was about 30 bites.
I wonder if the feral kittens the young boy, possibly the owners relative was trying to catch had anything to do with this?
Besides the bug bites, the place obviously lacked upkeep, cleanliness and pride.  In general, this place was extremely dirty:  dried up old paint brushes, junk cars outside, broken appliances, cardboard etc...
I felt relieved I did not order anything to eat after going into the bathroom.  I sort of rate the cleanliness of the bathroom of how clean the kitchen is.  Just think about this folks the next time you walk into a dirty bathroom...just imagine the cooler where food is kept, the cutting board, the utensils, and so on.
When we were there, you had to order your beer from the bar.  There sat the owner off to the side talking to some unsavory looking gal about nothings.  There we stood, a line of us yuppie types waiting to order something from the one bartender.  There was no greeting, no hey folks, we will be right with you....just the tick tock of the clock as we waited to get that draft beer!
I understand that a lot of Chicoans have fond sentiments for this place, but I just do not get it.  
Obviously they lack customer service and a sense of pride of business.  Thanks but no thanks, I will take my hard earned buck elsewhere!

The Big Kahuna BBQ Beef sandwich Prime rib beef, cheese with special sauce was very good we added a side of au jus which always makes it better.  Good season fries and a nice view of the river.
