The brisket was good. The bleu cheese burger was delicious.

I know BBQ. I'm from south Alabama. Big portions here. You won't leave hungry and prices are in line. Good flavor on ribs and tender brisket but maybe a little heavy on black pepper. Ribs were not "fall off bone", but a solid 3 star effort. Potato salad shouldnt even be on the menu... Sweet potato fries are good. I live around the corner so will go back here for BBQ when I don't wanna get out. If you can drive 15 minutes to Lindon then hit up smoking apple... It's the best in Utah. I almost gave this place 4 stars but the tough ribs and horrible potato salad blew it ... Although let's be honest you can't get good potato salad anywhere in Utah.

Sean's Smokehouse is an excellent respite from the bleak landscape that is Saratoga Springs restaurant options. High quality, low priced barbecue that tastes as authentic as . . . wherever this barbecue was supposed to mimic (Texan? I'm not sure, I'm not a barbecue expert, but I do love delicious food!). I will definitely be back!

My husband and I went to Sean's last night for dinner. We shared a slab of ribs with 2 sides.  I love the ribs there.  They are juicy, tender and not fatty!  His Black and Blue BBQ Sauce, made with the juice from blackberries & blueberries is perfection in a bottle and worth going there for!  Loved it and will be back!  My mouth is watering just thinking about those ribs and sauce!

I absolutely love this place! Everything about it is fantastic. I drive right past Dickey's every time I go to Sean's.

Pork was very mushy like it had been pre chewed. Brisket was greasey, 39 years I've never had greasey brisket before, and it tasted bland. Potato salad was gaggingly gross. Pasta salad had no flavor and a badly congealed texture. Peach cobbler tasted boxed and the topping mixed in with the sugar gel of the peaches to make an un cooked dough pudding that was quite nasty.

Texas toast and the mustard sauce were good. Mix the halla and texas sauces for a decent bbq sauce.  Servers were very nice and genuinely concerned about my experience but they couldn't fix the hot mess kitchen.

Delish BBQ, way better than the chain food alternatives around, and well priced to boot.

Best BBQ in Utah. Great meat. Great sauces. Great people.

My wife and I love this place. It is good food, and they have fair prices and great portion sizes.

I would recommend the brisket! It is amazing!

The first time we visited, we were blown away by how tender and juicy the smoked turkey was. We liked the selection of sides and thought that, overall, this place had it figured out. On our second visit, the turkey was much more dry, they were out of corn bread, and the service was a little sloppier, so we weren't as impressed. We'll probably try it out again sometime, but I'm hoping that this place will maintain its "opening day standards" rather than drift away into Mediocre-ville like so many others tend to do.

Sean's is definitely an oasis in a land held hostage by strip mall food.

It was A-OK. Not necessarily worth driving out of your way for, but A-OK.

I ordered the brisket and turkey meal with the Cowyboy beans. The brisket was excellent but a little light on the smoke flavor and the turkey, while juicy and tasty, had no smoke flavor or color at all.  Knowing they have a "rockstar" smoke oven, I was expecting a little bit more.  The cowboy beans were spicy but basic.  Not bad but not worth writing home about (only worth writing YELP about).

The highlight of the visit was definitely the sauces on the table. A sweet, berry based sauce that paired well with the poultry and a spicy that enhanced the brisket.

One opportunity was around the Iced tea.  Being an iced tea fanatic I was looking forward to some fresh brewed goodness that you find in most BBQ shops.  It was the fountain variety (but at least they had it.)

I've been coming here since they opened. Tonight was a disaster. Turkey dried out, 1/2 the amount they normally give. Like 2 pieces of turkey. Total rip off. Staff taking order was confused, seriously confused. I'm so mad. We got this to go & the whole thing sucked.

The best BBQ place in Utah. This is my family's go-to place whenever we're in the area, and will go out of our way to stop by. The prices are pretty much standard -- not amazingly cheap, but not over-the-top expensive. My wife and I can typically share a 2-meat (brisket and pork) and 2-side plate and still be full. Love the sauces -- there are usually 3 or 4 to choose from at your table.

We've also personally met Sean, as he likes to come out and greet customers quite often. Always a good sign for a restaurant, when the owner pokes his head out to visit with people and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.

Sidenote: there are two TVs, one on each side of the room. They're usually on ESPN or some other sports channel. (Just as a heads-up.)

I've made a lot of BBQ, and like to think I know my way around a pit.    These guys definitely do.    Pats gets a lot of credit as being the best BBQ joint in utah, but in my opinion these guys are better.

I'm a fan.   This and smoking apple are the 2 best places in the state.    Good portions of sides for the price, and perfectly smoked meats that are obviously handled by real pit masters.    Plus they're friendly, the place is immaculate and the service is fast.

Great service, clean inviting place.  Great loyalty program, just enter your number onto a screen and you're signed up.  Hear that...all other places that have loyalty programs!  I got stuff to go and it came out quick and the guy reviewed my order with me so I had everything-nice, but he didn't include any plastic ware, what's up with that?

BBQ sauce is too sweet-a disease a lot of these places fall victim to.  That said it has a nice kick to it as well-just get's tiresome pretty quickly.  Cole slaw is OK, nothing special but not a lot of sugar so while it won't wow you it's satisfying.  The ribs were nice.  No clear smoke ring and not a great deal of smoke flavor-at least not as much as I like.  But the rub was good and they didn't need the sauce-they weren't dry which is great.  Left the silver skin on...yuck.  They were cooked a little too long, little bit mushy but not so much that they fell off the bone-still a little pull but not as much as one might like.  Good place.  I'd go back.  Interested to try the pork and the burgers.

Excellent food.  It is hard to dethrone Pat's BBQ in SLC but this is a close 2nd place. The brisket and pulled pork are amazingly awesome.

The ribs were caked in some too sweet of sauce so wasn't a fan of those much.

    Great place! Fast Service.

I love Sean's. They have a great menu selection, the prices are reasonable (considering how outrageous some BBQ place prices are around here) and their food is just super good. I ordered the turkey plate with cornbread salad and it was wonderful. It came out super fast, so if you don't have a ton of time for lunch, this is your place.

My only complaint would be they had a limited selection of BBQ sauces. One was super sweet, and the other would be considered too spicy for some. I really enjoyed their non-sweet BBQ sauce, but someone with a more sensitive palate may not.

The ambiance was very neat. For some reason the have a wall of people with their thumbs down...not sure what that meant, but it was certainly different.

Just try here - keep local business in business! It's important...

Best BBQ in Utah hands down. Brisket is my Favorite. The Turkey is always moist and super delicious.  My mouth started watering while I am writing this. My big complaint is they are not open on Sunday (that is normal for Utah though). They have some amazing sauces, Fried okra, Cobbler etc... JUST GO.

Aside from offering excellent BBQ meat and sides of all kinds, Seans makes fantastic burgers.  I'll go as far as saying they're the best burgers I've had (and I've had loads).   All their patties ate made by hand, but only after you order.  The 10 or 15 minutes is well worth it. The huge patty is shaped a bit like a flying saucer...nice and thick and juicy.  Served on an excellent and large potato bun.  Toppings you'd expect are available, including a large slice of high quality cheese (if desired).  Seasoned stake fries and a fountain drink round things out.  I ordered a side of beans, but could not finish then.  The burger meal is ample.  If you're in the mood for strong flavors, I suggest the blue cheese bacon burger.

Eating these burgers is a pleasure I will be repeating.

I cannot say enough good things about Sean's.

In the last year or so I have never had a bad experience here.  The pork is always perfectly tender and moist.  I always choose to get it on a sandwich with Texas toast which is always seasoned and toasted to perfection!

Their shoestring fries are buttery melt in you mouth good seasoned just right.  Perfect when dipped in their house made BBQ sauces.  They have 2 options the Black and Blue which has blackberries and blueberries in it and their Tennessee Hollorin' sauce (which is my all time favorite BBQ sauce).  They also have sweet potato fries that are definitely worth trying as well.

If you are looking to get super full they have what they call a Nader's Tater.  A baked potato topped with pulled pork, beans, sour cream, cheese, and bacon.  So delicious and filling!!

If you are looking to cater an event they do an amazing job.  They offer lots of different options depending on the amount of people you are feeding.

Tried it on Friday night, bread was great, pork was tender and delicious, a little dry but the black and blue sauce was perfect for it.  Definately going back again to try the rest of the menu.

If you're looking for good BBQ this is the place. Easily some of the best BBQ I've had anywhere. It's all slow cooked and tastes like it.

Get the two meat plate and it's enough to share. My favorite is the brisket, closely followed by the pulled pork. Fried okra on the side is amazing. It's crispy on the outside and cooked, but not squishy, inside. I like the cowboy beans better than the regular baked beans, but I like baked beans spicy, not sweet.

    Great atmosphere and great food.

Surprisingly good! Just passing through Saratoga Springs when my wife and I ran into this place. I had the biscuit and pulled pork, both were excellent, my wife had turkey and really enjoyed it. The young blond girl at the register isn't the most motivated to keep the dining room clean, that is probably the only part that suffers. Will probably go back of I'm in the area again.

Phenomenal.  That is the word that keeps coming into mind when I think of this place.

I never would have known about this place.  We rarely go into Utah County even though we live right on the county border.  However, a friend of mine came through town to visit me on his way across the country on his bicycle.  As he was crossing Lehi, a motorcyclist pulled up next to him curious about my friend's bicycle set up which was carrying way more than one needs for an afternoon (or two or three) jaunt around the city.  Upon hearing that he had riden all the way from San Francisco, through Texas and was passing through on his way to Alaska before heading out to the New York then Florida (no one apparently has taught my friend about the quickest route being a straight line) all so that he could have the delight of riding back to San Francisco, the motorcyclist, introduced himself as Sean and told my friend that he owned a restaurant close by and that he would love to buy him dinner that night.  So I get the text asking if I wanted bbq.  I said, "Of course I do."

Now my husband and I have been looking for a good bbq joint for a while.  There has been passable, but nothing great.  This place is so far beyond great.  Fantastic.  Phenomenal.

My husband and I both ordered the beef brisket and peach cobbler.  The brisket was perfect.  Juicy, flavorful, tender... perfect.  The bbq sauces were awesome.  The Black and Blue (made in-house with real smashed blackberries and blueberries) was just the right combo of sweet, tangy and a tiny splash of heat.  The other (can't remember the name) was great for those who like their sauce to bite back.  A lot of spicier sauces are all about the heat, but this sauce had a fantastic flavor full of peppery deliciousness paired with just the perfect amount of heat.  YUM!

My friend was lavished on like a king.  Sean came out with a ridiculous salad full of so many wonderful things there's no way I'll remember them all.  Fall apart, tender mound of bbq chicken on a bed of spinach, blackberries, blueberries, sunflower seeds... Gourmet salad to the max.  Definitely enough to satisfy the appetite of someone who had just bicycled over 100 miles in the last day.  However he was them presented with a pulled pork sandwich, beef brisket sandwich and a side of award winning beans.  He was then told to wave when ready for his peach cobbler.  We all had to try the beans.  Again.  Fantastic.  Prefect combo of sweet and savory. Delish.

After a minute if watching our friend in amazement as he meticulously munched through his food stopping once in a while only to praise it's deliciousness, we moved on to our peach cobblers... I was in heaven.  I love cobbler.  This was... what is it that my husband likes to say, "Like angels kissing my tongue."  Yes.  Even though I was so full I had to use my esophagus as a holding place, I had to finish that cobbler.  We then turned our attention to our friend, who I think may have had tears in his eyes as he ate his way though his cobbler.  I'm still not sure if it was from his stomach over extending or over the wonderfulness of the cobbler.  My husband and I congratulated our friend on a miraculous eating feat, and he said that the pain was worth it.  He couldn't stop if he wanted to.  It was too delicious.

Everything made here is fresh and from scratch (even the furniture, as Sean says).  Well worth the trip to Saratoga Springs.

Our friend was saddened that he was not in town long enough to go back (Closed on Sundays... sniff) and he is already trying to figure out a reason to pass back through town so that he can enjoy another ridiculously delicious meal at Sean's... and possibly win that Ghost Chili Wing Challenge while he's at it.

My husband and I will be back this weekend.

    BEST RIBS EVER!

Been to Sean's several times now.  Everything is fantastic.  My wife's favorite is the turkey...so moist.  I love the brisket and pulled pork, but tried the ribs a few trips ago and fell in love.  Meat falls right off the bone=perfection.

Spicy BBQ sauce is a nice touch.  The sides are all great...give a few a try.  Cornbread salad is great, but I also opt for the cowboy beans (spicy pork & beans).

Oh, and get a takeout box so you can save room for the peach cobbler.  We catered a dinner from Sean's and I had at least 10 people tell me it is the best cobbler they have ever tasted.  I don't even like peach cobbler and I eat it!

Grab your friend or spouse, go in, get the Feast for 2-3, add ribs and peach cobbler.  It will set you back about $30 for a full dinner, with drinks, and you'll have lunch for tomorrow leftover.

    Enjoy!

After a invigorating morning of killing pheasants at the local pheasant club, what more could you want than some smoked meats.  Brisket and pulled pork with their special blueberry bbq sauce is win win in my book.  Going back on Friday to kill some more birds and eat some more bbq.

Friendly staff and great food. If you enjoy barbeque then this is a great place to try. Also if you like spicy food they have a ghost chili wing challenge you can partake in, which a buddy of mine did and completed. Not without feeling immense pain and unfortunate outcomes later in the day. It's a level of spice that is probably seriously detrimental to your health, but if you're one of those spice daredevils it's worth a try. I dipped one of my wings in a bit of the sauce and my mouth was burning for a long while. And I think I had a pretty high tolerance for spicy foods.

Anyway, the food is real good and it's worth a try if you're in the area.

if you like BBQ, this place is awesome.  It's the best BBQ I've had in Utah, probably the best since I lived in Texas.

I ordered the brisket, pulled pork and cornbread salad.  No one else around here that I've tried has such good brisket.  It was very flavorful, and not dry at all.  It was awesome, and I wished I had just gotten that instead of splitting the plate with the pulled pork.  The pulled pork was very good, but I'm a brisket guy when it comes to BBQ.  I got the pulled pork this time because I wanted to try a couple of items to get an idea of how good this place really is.  Though, to me, the brisket is the key factor to the quality of a BBQ place.

The cornbread salad is SO good.  You just gotta try it.

I'd highly recommend this restaurant, it's worth the short drive to Saratoga Springs - It's NOT that bad, this isn't Eagle Mountain.  Take Redwood Road from Bluffdale/Bangerter Highway and it's a very easy drive and worth it.

    Enjoy!

If you like barbecued meats, you are doing yourself a disservice if you haven't been to Sean's Smokehouse.  Everything is slow roasted and extremely flavorful.  Most people will mentally compare this place with Dickey's Barbecue Pit; in most ways Sean's is better (such as the pulled pork... or the turkey... or their incredible black and blue BBQ sauce).  Nevertheless, in a few ways Dickey's edges ahead (such as their chopped beef brisket).

Sean's remains one of the best BBQ joints in Utah county and certainly ranks ahead of Dickey's overall.  This place is way too good to remain a secret!  Make the short trip to Saratoga Springs--you'll be glad you did.

I will start of by saying I'm not usually a fan of barbecue. I mean it is good sometimes, but most restaurants with barbecue I will pass up. My husband on the other had LOVES barbecue. So I have to venture into these joints once in awhile.

Sean has converted me. At least to his place. This guy rocks. This is I think the best restaurant BBQ I have had, no question about it. The sauces are amazing the food is all amazing. The peach cobbler was great! So much so I asked for 2nds.

My only criticism is that there needs to be more decorations on the wall, the place looked a bit bare. I can image this place being like a homey place. Seriously any person that likes food should come here.

On an end note I have heard some people complain that it is too expensive. That is a load of crap. The prices are fine and seriously this food is worth paying for. Also I love the philosophy of service here, for instance they don't except tips. You can ask Sean about it, he will tell you.  I love it, everything about it.

I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of beans, my wife had the same sandwich but had the Cornbread Salad.  All of it was spectacular.  The beans were the best I have had and the cornbread salad was unique and VERY good.

In terms of price and service, my wife and I spent $10 each, that included soft drinks.  The service was incredible.  Sean, the owner, was talking with patrons as well as serving them.  He was really helpful and friendly.  The food got to us really fast, almost before we got our drinks filled.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that Sean's does not have quite the selection that I would like.  If possible I would love to see plain cornbread and maybe hush puppies as sides.

All in all, I love the place, I will definitely go back!

YUM!  That's my first thought.  If you love comfort food, Sean's Smokehouse BBQ is the place for you! The meats (yes all of them, as I got to sample each one) are tender, tasty and full of flavor.  My favorite is the turkey, deeeeelicious! My second favorite is the fall off the bone ribs, wow.
I didn't love the cornbread salad, it's a texture thing for me, the pasta salad was a much better fit for me.  The peach cobbler, THE BEST!  I managed to fit it in to my very full tummy, one taste and that thing was not going to waste! :)
The atmosphere is clean, simple yet very inviting, not to mention how friendly Sean (the owner) and his staff are.  I've been there twice and both times I watched Sean go from table to table checking on the guests, very nice touch - he really cares about your experience.
A must try in my book!!!!!

Easily some of the best, if not the best, BBQ I've had at a restaurant! Sean serves up some amazing meats, delicious sides, and heavenly dessert! Everything was so good, I don't even know where to begin, so I guess I'll just walk you through my meal.

Sean hooked us up with one giant sampler platter, so to speak. Our first plate came loaded with pork, chicken, turkey, & ribs. The pork was tasty, especially when paired with the Black & Blue sauce (made from berries!). The turkey was oh-so-moist. The chicken, bursting with flavor. And the ribs, oh the ribs! The glaze was perfect, the meat cooked to perfection! I could eat those every day! As if all this wasn't enough, we were greeted with 3 sides: a pasta salad (amazing!), baked beans (some of the best I've had), and cornbread salad (not my favorite, but still pretty good). Next came the brisket. This was easily the BEST brisket I've had. Super tender, very moist, and excellent flavor! To top it all off, one of the most delicious peach cobblers you'll ever taste. Seriously, I could eat this stuff 3x/day, 7 days/week! It's that good.

What's great about Sean's (besides all the AMAZING food, of course) is their passion. We were informed that everything is made fresh, canned food is not allowed (with the exception of peaches as working with fresh peaches did not yield the results Sean wanted), and each and every dish is served up with a heaping side of good ol' TLC. Sean has won numerous awards for his BBQ, and when (not if) you go here, you'll know why!

Seriously, I want to go back. Now!

(A huge thanks to Sean for hosting a wild crowd of Yelpers - it was awesome and I, for one, am extremely thankful for all your hospitality! I will be back again soon!)

What a fantastic dinner! I've never had such tender, moist, and flavorful turkey (sorry, mom). The chicken was smokey, salty, and delicious. The babyback ribs were absolute perfection.

I really enjoyed their sauces, which are all house-made. The standout sauce for me was the "Black and Blue" sauce, which is made from a base of blackberries and blueberries. It was sweet and smokey, and you can definitely taste the berries. Perfect on the brisket (which by the way was tender and moist).

The pulled pork was just ok for me. Good BBQ shouldn't require any sauce as the meat should speak for itself, but i found myself applying the Black and Blue sauce liberally to the pork. It was a little dry, and not too flavorful.

The beans were also very good. They're not your typical mushy beans in a disgustingly thick sauce. Sean's baked beans have just the right amount of bite, and the sauce is considerably thinner that what is perhaps the norm. I really liked it. Ingredients are fresh, the beans are rich and flavored wonderfully. I liked the cornbread salad, although there were a few in our group that didn't particularly enjoy the texture.

The peach cobbler was outstanding. Crunchy, buttery, and rich. The peaches freshened the dish up, and made for an outstanding finishing plate for our dinner.

Last of all, it was so refreshing to see Sean "working the floor" of his restaurant, mingling with guests and making sure everything was just right. He takes great pride in his food, and he made it a point to tell us that if he can't be proud of the food, then he's not going to put it on the menu.

By far my favorite BBQ place in Utah.

We got there at 6pm and the place was pretty busy. By the time we left it was nearly full. Sean said it was the slowest night in a month, so I guess word of mouth is good for this place.
    I'll start with my Faves:
1- Cornbread salad! What? Yah, you heard me, cornbread salad. Unique, delectable, satisfying and original. Try it.
2- Pasta salad. Giant shells with... stuff... mixed in. I'm not sure what it was made of, but Yay! I'm a fan!
3- Ribs. Baby back ribs. That's the only kind they serve at Sean's and they are dynamite-tastic! It was difficult to pick them up, because they kept falling apart. And the sauce was wonderful; sweet, but not too sweet.
4- Turkey: wow! I'm NOT a big fan of turkey in general, but this stuff was moist... I mean wet... without any sauce. Amazingly good. It didn't need any sauce (I used some anyway).
5- Beans: 5 or 6 different kinds of beans in a sweet, thin, sauce with bacon and (roasted?) red peppers. Again, these were unique. Not what I would have expected from a BBQ place. Not the EXACT SAME THING i've ever been served at every BBQ place I've ever visited ever in the world. The sweet factor may be bit high for some people, but for me they were grrreat! And I'm not a huge sweet-fan either. Whoever said they had tomatoes in them?? WRONG. Just wrong. Maybe he mistook the red peppers for diced tomatoes.
6- Coleslaw: Again, slaw is not generally one of my faves, but this was among the best I've had anywhere, but maybe a touch too much mayo for me.
7- Salad: I didn't eat it (my daughter did when I dropped it off to her at home) and I don't remember the name of it. It was spinach leaves with berries, candied walnuts, sunflower seeds and homemade poppy seed dressing. She RAVED about it and demanded directions to the place.
8- Peach cobbler: Warm, crunchy, topped with fresh whipped cream, delicious. My wife liked it so much she said she would drive all the way there (45 minutes) just for dessert. Impressive.
9- Service: Sean is a hands-on owner. Other reviews have said "overbearing," but I disagree. I guess it's whatever your personal comfort level is and how much human-interaction you enjoy from your server/restaurateur. For me, it was just the right amount. Sean greeted every guest and then thanked them and said good-bye as they left. He also stopped at every single table to make sure everything was not just okay, but better than okay. I think the service was fantastic! And he obviously cares deeply about his food and his patrons.
I also tried the brisket, smoked chicken and pulled pork. All were very good. On par with the best places in Utah for sure. But the ribs and turkey were the stars of the show for me.
    Now for my not-so-faves
1- Potato salad: It was passable, but very bland. Potatoes and mayo and not much else that was noticeable. Sean told us that he "caved" into the pressure to change to a more "traditional" salad, but I wish I could have tried the first one he rolled out a month ago, which was more of a German potato salad.
Everything here is made from scratch. No microwave in the building. Nothing comes from a can (except the peaches since they work better with the cobler). The meats are slow cooked or smoked for 10+ hours, which explains why they may run out of some things later in the evening/night.
In order to get the 5th star from me, Sean's would have to do two things. Serve me an ice cold beer in a frosty mug (no alcohol here) and put his SPICY sauce into the regular rotation. He let us try it/use it, but it's only 95% ready for mass consumption. Hopefully the remaining 5% will be done soon because it was the bee's knees!
Sorry for the LENGTH of this review, but Sean forced us to sample nearly everything and I wanted to give my impressions of each item. Thanks for bearing with me.
