Coming from a big city like San Diego where I've been born and raised, you like to find a place that you can call your home and be considered a regular when you are there. Every time I go to St. Cloud or anywhere near the city, I make it a priority to stop by and at least eat a meal there. They don't play around with you getting your food how you want it and make sure that it is cook right. When they ask you how's your food, they really want to know. Drinks are great and they have the great bartenders to back that. Both the Matt's at the bar are not only great bartenders but great company. Sunday Funday's where they have Kareoke are a must! I want to see someone rock it out to Rappers Delight like I did!
Review Source:**This review is solely based on the french onion soup, caesar salad and what my friends had.**
The building is absolutely amazing. From where I am in Southern California we don't have too many buildings like this left, especially in the small city i live in.. We were all taken upstairs and seated near the window. The place was quite empty but liked it that we had the level to ourselves.
Again, I was in a hurry so I got the french onion soup and small ceaser salad. The cheese that was melted on top was delicious but hot as was the soup itself. While it may have burned me a little, the flavor was still there.
My salad was nice and creamy plus the lettuce looked fresh. Â
The historic building really added to my liking of the place.
My girlfriend got new york steak. It was quite big but she was hungry enough to eat it all!
I love D.B. Searle's.
I have never had a bad meal, a bad drink, or a bad run in with the staff.
It is more of an "up scale" (if there is such a thing in St. Cloud) bar vs. your run of the mill college drinking spots surrounding it. Â But, it still has a laid back approach to everything.
Great place to catch a game, grab lunch, or have a drink (or 5).
Place had a nice vibe, and menu seemed good.
ordered the new york steak - medium rare. Â would have been a great steak, only they cooked it medium well. Â great flavor, too bad it was just way over cooked.
steak came with baked potato, which was really good. Â nothing special about the spud, but it was just really good.
my sister had the walleye. Â supposedly fresh, but definitely didn't taste fresh.
i think if the fish was fresh and the steak cooked properly, this place could have the potential for 3-4 stars.
