Great place to have a glass of wine and shop on your Ipad while your boyfriend is watching the end of a a football game. Â They give you an incredibly generous pour of wine for a reasonable price of 8 dollars. Â I'm still not entirely sure who won the game. Â I suppose not the Jets... my boyfriend seemed crabby afterwards.
Review Source:Our first couple of visits were pleasurable, so while looking for something casual with a decent draft selection we decided it was time for a return visit.
Those draft beers are two-for-one during happy hour (4 to 6 pm) and we came in just under the wire so our server/bartender informed us we had seconds coming. Â We started with pints of Long Trail Double Bag strong ale and Brooklyn Pennant ale (normally $5/16 oz.). Â Our happy hour seconds were another Pennant and an Otter Creek ale. Â We continue to believe that the beer is a bit too cold initially, but we are probably in the minority. Â So we simply ordered our second beers a bit before we needed them.
The Fish Tacos (approx. $10) were three flour tortillas with a just OK topping of tilapia fish, salsa, and sour cream. Â The tortillas were grilled to the point of becoming crispy, making it difficult to fold them. We've had better elsewhere and would not order them here again. Â A passing server looking to help clear our table also forgot to return with the one remaining tortilla that we requested to take home.
A sandwich on the Specials menu that caught my attention was the Superfecta (approx $15). Â Made with thick slices of Italian bread, it had house-made sausage, capicola, house-smoked pulled pork, BBQ sauce and cheese. Â It came with a side of sweet potato fries and pickled carrots. Â This was really tasty and the sweet potato fries were even better than most places. Â They must do something a little different with them. Â I would consider ordering this again.
Even with Sunday evening football on several TVs, the place was not crowded and the fans were not rowdy. Â We'll continue to enjoy ourselves here in the future.
This was a pretty cool spot. The girlfriend and I stopped here randomly because it was the first place we stumbled upon in Saratoga on Saturday night that wasn't completely packed with dumbass obnoxious kids who want only to get wrecked and just turned 21 (or who just received their first fake ID). When we showed up, it was a little after midnight and we were the only people in the bar. It was great. We had some bar foods to snack on (the kitchen was open, but only for fried stuff) and some drinks.
The bartender was great. He had us try some drinks we'd never had before, and we basically just spent the time talking with him while we waited for our friends to meet up with us.
Using my best Dos Equis guy impression: I don't always go to bars in Saratoga, but when I do, I go to the Seven Horse Pub.
It's past the American dinner hour on a Monday night. I'm hungry.
Half of my favorite restaurants are closed on Monday nights as if people don't need to eat on particular days of the week.
Seven Horse is open and I can sit at the bar with enough room to operate dining utensils. Going to need a menu.
I've only ever had their chowder once and it was upon the recommendation of my usual dining partner as he had it at Chowderfest. It's on the menu! Mirepoix plus pulled pork plus cornbread equals genius. Simple, delicious genius.
Hanger steak. It's a cut that seems to be gaining popularity. I've seen it at Max London's for breakfast, Garden Bistro 24 and Central Steak as a main course, and now on a sandwich at Seven Horse. It's delicious.
Don't order it past medium-rare. It gets tough and stringy and not great. If you're not one for a mooing steak stick with another cut.
Open face, a toasty base, a generous portion of sliced steak, a tad of horseradish sauce, not-from-a-can mushrooms, melty mozzarella cheese. Served with house-made potato chips.
The staff is very friendly and will accommodate any request.
Decent bourbon selection.
Live music some nights. Spent an evening that involved dancing here and had a great time!
I'll be back.
Its pretty standard as far as Saratoga Springs bar/restaurants go. The food, service and beer selection is better than places like Baileys, Â Peabodys or The Stadium. They have brooklyn IPA on tap. The chowder was pretty decent however, avoid the carmelized onion pizza with eggplant on it. Eggplant should never go on top of a pizza unless it has been marinated. Other than that, I'm pretty sure the rest of the people at my table enjoyed their meal. Is this going to be a regular spot for me? Only time will tell.
Review Source:Went here with my girlfriend and some others last night. Â Being a vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to find new and unique menu items. Â One of the specials last night was a Beet Burger. Â I've never heard of anything like that, but decided to try it out. Â It was so good! Â Kudos to the chef. Â It was topped with sauteed spinach and onions and came served with their homemade ketchup and mustard. Â Will definitely be coming here again!
Review Source:From first visit, we noticed prices were higher than other places in Saratoga, however if the food qualifies then we have no problem with paying more. Â Not the case here. Â Average at best food (regarding flavor, freshness and portions). Â Atmosphere ok but for the prices there are plenty of other places to choose in Saratoga that are better.
