All they play here is cover music and it sucks.  A meat market on Mondays where most hoes and douche-bags attend in order to trade stds.  Drinks should be cheaper at such a grody place like this and they have restroom attendants.  So forget about washing your hands every time you want to use the restroom.

This has been my one stop shop for a cold one and wacky trivia tourneys since 2005.  Its a fun place to meet up with friends and have a good time. I had to downgrade them since they got rid of the food menu.

This bar is fantastic!!! The service was amazing and definitely surprising, their staff is very welcoming and efficient, except for one of the bouncers who was yelling "It's time to go" no need for that, we're all adults. Very diverse clientele, they offer pool tables, air hockey, darts, live music, plenty of seating options and limited food items on the menu. Jenna was our waiter, she was one of the most genuine waitress I've ever come across because of her I will come back.

I have never been to a more enjoyable bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the bartenders do not skimp on the pours. Make sure to go during happy hour and you'll be quite surprised at how low your tab will be. Their prices for shots and speciality drinks are also quite reasonable. I look forward to my next night out here in the future.

This is as a great bar in my book. It is built in a sort of figure 8 pattern (with an extra loop at the top right (pool and bathroom area), so you can walk around and check out who is there. It tends to have bands playing, but it isn't so loud you can't have a conversation in the booths or in the other room. It's a great set-up.

Lots of places to sit, both at the bar and in the regular area. I never sat up front with those big chairs in the front L side; they were always full of cruisers. I hung out near the Golden Tee machines/booths and dart boards early in the night and then moved into the big room as it got later. Trivia night is always a riot.

One of the few places with great live (but rarely new) music AND a place to sit. It is a huge bar and they have a full range of spirits, but it is more of a place to order a beer because of the crowds and you don't want to have to slow down the bartender because they have a wall of people to serve. I think a rum/coke, vodka/soda, etc 1-combo  is ok to order though. But whoever posted the margarita pic is crazy. That is just mean.

They used to do Monday dollar beer nights during football season but I haven't been there on a Monday in a long time, so I am not sure if that still goes. If you do, be sure to be good about tipping, because they are always good about maintaining the correct tabs and so forth.

It is the only real bar in its area in that part of Clear Lake (would probably be even busier if it was in Seabrook, but that is a good trade-off, I think).  Prices are good, bartenders remember you, and it is a  good mixed crowd where you can meet someone new each time you go and still see old friends.

4 Stars: People usually go here happy and leave happy. It is hard to escape the Dude-Bro+D-bag mentality of ClearLake this is one of the two places you can actually escape to on certain nights. I feel so sorry for the women in Clear Lake that want to avoid the Dude-Bro+D-bag mentality... its like there's no place for THEM! Then again, this is Clear Lake, I'm sure there's the Bitch+T-bag mentality as well?

Soooooo. It's kinda hard to rank this bar. First off, when it comes to an all-round great bar, it's slim pickings out in this part of town; so I can't judge too hard. However, dunno it I'd exactly say it's completely awesome. But the thing is, it doesn't matter which Sherlock's you go to - be it out off 249, in The Village or River Oaks - they're all pretty much the same. Loud cover band. Cheesy music. Seriously diverse clientele (think frat boys to wannabe gangstas). Weak pours.

I've been to this Sherlock's exactly two times. Once, circa 2006 when I was 24 or so and I forgot my ID. They wouldn't let me in, natch, so my BF and I walked away. Sober and sad. Second time with this past week. Our group did a tour of Clear Lake happy hour spots, and of course, Sherlock's is on the regular rotation. From the loud dance floor to the peaceful-ish lounge area to the sporty pool table area, we each found a spot suitable for our current moods. But in the end, true to Sherlock's fashion, we all found ourselves on the dance floor burning up a sweat and dancing to God knows what. My tab was more than what I would want to pay in a place like this, but the bartender was incredibly attentive and took care of me all night. Come next Clear Lake Friday with my friends, I wouldn't mind coming back for a song or two. Cheers.

This place is super cool.  It's a proper pub.  Awesome range of beers and other drinks.  Great live music and always lively.  Wish I lived closer but I just have to make do with the occasional visit!

I use this place as my off night hangout once in a while, Mon (surprisingly busy), Wed, or Thur. Happy hour has decent prices. The crowd here gets younger and rowdier as the night goes on; they have pool, darts, and a large patio for smokers. The bartenders and wait staff are polite and accomodating for the most part.  I had an amazing B-day here last year thanks to my friends and our waitress, and yes you do get a free drink for that. If they had more food to offer I'd go every week, but in all fairness there is a Jack N the Box not more than 15 yards away.

Most times I generally like going to places in & around the greater Houston area but if you are near the Clear Lake area & want a cool vibe kinda place to have a few drink this is your place.

They have the staples of any regular bar. Outside porch? Yep. Darts? Check. Pool? Yessir. Craptastic cover bands on the regular? Definitely. Seriously they are very hit or miss but that's part of the fun.

Drinks are very average in price & some nights you find them on the cheap. The best part to me? The service & waitstaff. You rarely have to wait very long for a drink even at the bar. Getting in just showing ID & walking in just as it should be. Not a silly dress code to get in between anything. Everyone associated with this place emanates cool & if you are a decent individual you'll probably share a laugh or two. The people have personality.

They do have food but nothing majorly or stand out. Matter of fact I believe I had conversation when someone asked me about the pizza. It  went something like this: "Is it good? Well it's not delivery it's Digiorno" As you know most people don't come here for the food so I pass amnesty there.

The crowd varies from colleges kids to 30 somethings & up. It's just rolls like that. Just depends what night of the week you head up here.

    Generally pretty cool place.

PS: the restrooms are "hidden" behind a few bookshelves. Very Batcave -esque.

Definitely my choice of bar in the Clear Lake area.

Live music, decent tap choices, TONS of room, not too pricey, close to home (no worrying about having to drive home from Midtown or Washington!), and the bartenders and staff have always been very friendly. The crowd is generally friendly, which is a bonus.

Also, tons of games (pool, darts, foosball, air hockey) for when you get restless or are just killing time and there's a smoke area out back for all you cancer-stick fans.

On Sundays, this is the best place for Karaoke. The Karaoke starts at 10. The music selection may not be as extensive as dedicated Karaoke bars, or the sound system the best, but that is bested by the very relaxed atmosphere and unpretentious crowd, no suits or evening dresses here, so if you are performing, you wont feel pressured as if you where on American Idol . Its in Clear Lake, so expect a lot of cowboys and college kids from the nearby schools, but the mix of the crowd does make for fun audience and fun performances. Can't sing? you can always do a little bit of "Bosstoning"(backup dancing) on the dance floor. Expect country music early on, switching to more contemporary later in the evening. as the country crowd has to leave to go to work on Monday. Plenty of beer on tap, including actual Guinness stout on tap, not from a bottle as in most other places, in an actual pint. Extensive parking, its in a large strip mall, and 24 hours Jack in the Box right outside the door for your end-of-the-evening lard needs. The only negatives I could find is that only half the bar is open on Sunday, the rear portion with the main stage is empty, with the lights turned off, making for a creepy atmosphere. I absolutely hate the hidden book case restroom doors, you better ask your waitress to point you to the restrooms early on, as not to look foolish staring at that book case, which is not even clearly labeled.

It is not Molly's. So that explains the rating above one star.

The beer selection is nothing like Flying Saucer - but they do not hold themselves to be anything like the Flying Saucer so that is okay.

    They have darts!
    They have pool tables!
The bartenders are usually pretty nice, or at least not complete d-bags.
This sounds like a foursies review, right?

The last three times I have been in here there have been some young people (read: wearing college tshirts) that definitely should have been cut off but the bartenders kept serving, and the d-bags kept getting louder and louder.

This is a place you bring a drinking buddy, not a date or someone you want to impress. If you are on a serious date with someone you want to impress and the d-bag situation happens right next to you during a game of darts you are absolutely killing, you really do not earn any points by suggesting you leave - since it was your suggestion to come here in the first place.

Huge bar, really huge have various areas to sit to areas to play pool and a huge patio with a covered area in case it rains (it has when I've been there before Houston weather). Monday nights is the half price specials which is great and everyone is there. Even find old friends to catch up and have a few cold ones. Looking for a good bar in Clear Lake Sherlock's Pub is the place. They also have a huge parking lot you can always find parking. They also have local bands playing which is awsome.

Nice place to catch up with friends for drinks, pool, darts and bar food. Plenty of space to move around, although on certain days it is very crowded. There are plenty of seating areas and places to huddle together and have some privacy.

Majority of the patrons here are college students from nearby University of Houston. Mostly college crowd of course on weekends and the much more refine (ahem) folks during week days.

This place reminds me of my favorite bar in college, which is probably why I like it so much. When you first walk in the door there is a small dance floor and stage where they have bands play. But if you're not into the band you could always turn left and hang out on the "chill side" or head out back to catch some fresh air on the patio. I love that it is only one bar but has a place for everyone, although it can get really crowded on the weekends...

It took me forever to find the bathroom door the first time I went! Once I did though I loved the idea of the hidden door. The bartenders are very friendly and the drinks are fairly priced. I have yet to try a happy hour here but I have heard good things.

Sherlock's has a lot to offer... it's located in a strip mall (what isn't in Houston?), but that's about the only downside.

The bar itself is deceptively spacious and offers several rooms with different atmospheres in each.  When you walk in, you will be in the area where live bands play almost every weekend night that has a dance floor and plenty of tables.  On the other side of the main bar is an area that kind of resembles a British pub.  There are doors, so you can't really hear the band and there are some couches and tables to sit at, books on the wall, dart boards, and the second half of the main bar.  Towards the back of the building there is a large area with lots of pool tables and other bar games... this is also where the hidden bathrooms are.  Finally, the bar has a nice outdoor patio with a huge projection TV screen, covered seating, and a smaller bar.

The staff are all very friendly and the beer selection is pretty good and reasonably priced.  If you're looking for a good bar in Clear Lake, this is one to try.

Drinks are inexpensive with free bands on the weekends (and Thursday nights).  Most play 80's music and few play hard rock.   Great atmosphere.  Ages at the bar are from 21 to 60's - very diverse.
Has a back room where conversations can be had.   The bathrooms are hidden (behind book cases) by the pool tables.

I've visited a lot of bars in both Austin and Houston, and this is the first bar I've become a regular to. There is so much to love about this neighborhood bar. Cheap drinks for happy hour which lasts until 9pm, including $2.50 wells, $8 Shiner pitchers, $2.50 big beers, et al. Along with the good pricing, drinks are served by a friendly, energetic staff which is mostly girls between 20-27.
Don't let the front door deceive you, this place is huge. I like how the sections are composed, creating diverse settings. I can sit on the left to grab a beer and chill with friends over conversations, or hang out in the back patio to smoke a cigar after hours, or rock out with the bands who play in the main room after 10pm. Just saw Rat Ranch play here last Saturday night and may I say they rocked out! I also got to meet the lead vocal and guitarist, Brett after the show. Another plus is that Sherlock's never charges cover for these awesome bands.
Here's a cherry on top of the sundae, Jim, the general manager, holds crawfish boils every Thursday for $3.50/lb in the patio (months March-June). Also, there are free appetizers every Thurs & Fri.
It becomes crowded after 11pm on the weekends with a diverse crowd, half of which are about 25yrs old and the other half being around 40yrs old. It has a good guy-girl ratio with small groups of girlfriends and bros.
I always look forward to going to Sherlock's, just a short drive to a great party scene.

This bar in clear lake is a wierd set up. One half side is a chill dartboard couch lounging area, there is a big pool table room in the back, a huge front area with a band set up, and a patio in the back.  All of the areas are divided with doors to seperate the loud band area from everything else. This is the problem with Sherlocks...they play the band so loud that you cant even hear whether the music is good. I saw a cover band here and they sounded awful.  I had just seen them at another venue a month prior and they were so much better. It totally ruined the music. But I have been going here off and on for the last 10 years...and i always think maybe its the bands sound guy or whatever but every band sounds like crap. wierd. Without the band...its just another pub/bar, nothing special.

Went here on st. patty's day. SUPER CROWDED. It was fun though. This place is freakin' huge. Way bigger than what i expected. Big music area, big room to the left, big patio area to the back, and then the billiards room. Nice place to hang out. The bathrooms are kind of tricky though because the doors are concealed like book shelves. Drink prices weren't too crazy either. THUMBS UP.

Sherlock's is a Clear Lake bar attempting to be an English pub. A English pub it is not, but you cant get  boddintons or a new castle. That aside the drinks are cheap and its a decent place to hang out after work. It offers live music, darts, pool and free food during happy hour wed - fri. The bar's split up into 3 room. The floor plan is great. You can take refuge in billiards room or  the comfy lounge area opposite the live music area if the band sucks. The patio is awesome. Its out back and some people never find it. You might have trouble finding the restrooms if you've had one too many. If you can't find the bathroom its probably time to call a cab but i guess that can be said about any bar.

I'll definitely go back! Went on a rainy Thursday night and it took me a second to realize that's why the bartender said he wished it wasn't raining. They had their burger baskets out on the patio and the remnants of a happy hour buffet (chili, tortilla chips, fritos) but otherwise no food menu at this location.

I ordered one of their two ciders on tap, beat my fiance at a game of air hockey and walked right past the bathroom on my first attempt. In the time we were there, we moved around the different rooms and landed at one of the booths up front, which made it much quieter and the band hadn't even started playing yet!

I have to say that I enjoy a good drink anywhere. Sherlock's has a decent atmosphere and plenty of space, including 3 indoor rooms and an outdoor patio. They also have a stage in the main room which hosts many cover bands. I'm not a huge fan of cover bands so I typically avoid those nights. Other than that there are 2 things you need to know about the crowd and the bar itself.

The Sherlock's crowd typically ranges from 20's to...well we will just say "older." Within this large age range, there are really only 2 types that frequent the place: snotty college kids who want desperately to be cool and then the actual cool kids (by kids I'm implying no age range). If you hit a night when the snots are out, well, I hope you have fun trying to maneuver around their puffed out egos. Otherwise, it's a pretty decent place for happy hour.

Another thing you need to know, and that I think is actually cool, is the bookcase entrances to the bathrooms. That's right...bookcases with REAL books. I know this because I have been a little inebriated and started to read them. It's quite interesting.

All in all it's a pretty good bar...if you hit it on a good night.

Sherlock's isn't really my scene anymore. I came to this location a lot when I was freshly 21 and found it to be a great place to drink (obviously I had less bills back then so didn't mind overpaying a bit for drinks), listen to crappy cover bands, play pool and air hockey, and flirt with the opposite sex.

Now that I'm 25, I only really find Sherlock's fun if I'm with a large group or it's early evening when the place isn't packed with a zillion people. This is definitely the largest bar in the area and will probably be the most packed on any given night.

The one really good thing I can say about the place is that Sherlock's has some decent drink specials. Their beer selection isn't that great, but if there's nothing on tap that interests you, do check out their bottled selection. Wednesday is Big Ass Beer night and you can get select domestic drafts for $1.75 and select imported drafts for $2.75. On Thursdays and Fridays they have a free happy hour buffet, although I've never tried it.

I definitely recommend this place for happy hour on Wednesdays.

After having been to Sherlock's last night for the first time, I have to say I was not that impressed.  The most interesting part of the entire bar was the entrances to the restrooms.  Secret doors in the bookcase is a neat idea.

That's where interesting stops and boring begins.  Drink prices were pretty high for my tastes.. $5.00 a pint of draft beer.  Not to mention the selection of beers was really lacking.  The most offensive thing about this bar (inside) was the smell.

The place had a lingering dirty alcohol smell.. Yes I know it's a bar, but since this place does not allow smoking inside the cigarette smoke does not mask the smell of the unpleasant odors.

As I said they don't allow smoking inside.. So you have to go out back on the patio, which seemed like an afterthought and not part of the bar experience.  There is a small bar outside, it seems closer to a drink stand than a real bar tho.  Yes there are 2 different draft beers you can order outside.. and you get some mixed drinks or shots in plastic children's cups.. It could be done so much better.  On the patio you feel like you are at some one's back yard Barbecue paying high prices for drinks..

When I go to a pub I want to sit at a bar order drinks and smoke cigarettes.. Isn't that what the Pub experience is all about?

I went to Sherlock's in Clear Lake this past weekend to check out a cover band that I have been hearing some buzz about. Sherlock's is a GREAT place to go and listen to cover bands. My only complaint about this place is the service at the bar needs a little work, but I think when the place is packed 3 bartenders just will not cut it.

The establishment is set up very nice... and one of the best things about it is... there is NO SMOKING inside. I realize that is the way it is in a lot of places now days, but I have to mention it because I think it is the best thing EVER!!!

Oh yeah!!! Just a little side note for the ladies... all you men can stop reading now because this will not concern you... unless you are a cross dresser and go to the ladies room to tee-tee... Anyway, I did have to use the potty while I was there because I was drinking beer... so as you know, it is impossible to "hold" it all night. Well, when you plan to head that way... make sure you have enough time to find the door. If you have never been here it is like a secrete door behind a book case. Seems easy enough right... Well, when you are "challenged" because you have been drinking, you may require some assistance in finding the way in. I don't know for sure... I am just saying. =)

This is the biggest spot in the Clear Lake area to go out and have a drink. Most people here are in their 20s, less so are in their 30s and there are occasionally older.

The best feature of this bar is that there are four distinct areas throughout the bar: There's a typical club area where a band plays, there's the typical bar area with darts, there's a room with pool tables, and then back area is outside with another bar when it's busy.

The bathrooms are in the pool hall behind a bookcase. It's annoying when you're really drunk, it's fun if you're kinda into the mystery of it.

I'll probably go back if I'm in town and want to meet a friend somewhere for drinks. It's a cool place.

Oh, and on weekend night, be careful. It's BUSY and LOUD. Like, almost uncomfortably busy and loud at times. Don't say I didn't warn you!

My favorite of the Sherlock's / Baker St. Pubs in the area.  Great cover bands, a little space to dance if you are so inclined and good acoustics. Drink prices are average, but the ambiance is great:  it's like 3 bars in 1.  One side is the band area and bar, the other is more Irish Pub feel with dart boards, booths, nice chairs, and a quieter bar, and the 3rd area has all the pool tables in a library like atmosphere.  There is also the outside area for the smokers.

I went on a weekend and it was nice and crowded but not over packed.  I went again during the week and it was a little empty.  I was told Trivia night is the night to be there.  Overall the place is inhabited by the 21-40 year old crowd.
